What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I only got the meter 3 weeks ago it went from 14 on the first day when I started the meds to 19 in the middle week now it is around 9.8 when I have not eaten or drank anything for 10 hours but have not slept well and taken the dogs for their walk. I must admit 19 scared me. Now told to only test once a week unless I feel ill.

I am waking up on an 8 & 11 2hrs after meals been taken off Metformin & put on another because of stomach issues. I’m worried new medication is not as good. Im type 2 but addicted to testing. X

really can't stand needles in and out veins. still waiting almost 5 months now for psychiatry to try help with the irrational fear.
Personally I wouldn't call a fear of needles in veins "irrational", I save that for things that really can't hurt you -like British spiders!

But I agree it's something to try to reduce the fear of as it's causing distress, I hope you get that help soon.

19 *is* scary - my first reading was 20.1 and then to make matters worse I couldn't get a big enough blood drop to test for several days. Fortunately during that time it went down to ~13.

9.9 for me today, not great but definitely no longer scary. I wouldn't be happy testing just once a week but the decision is yours to make, you may have to buy extra test strips if you want more data.

Nothing wrong with testing. Since Diagnosis ten years ago I’ve tested multiple times pretty much daily. Keeps me motivated and saves carb creep

In Spain it's Tuesday 13th which is unlucky, can't remember why. Fortunately I'm not superstitious. We had a memorable Friday 13th about 10 years ago, when the firework wholesaler just down the road caught fire and we had a spectacular unplanned display at 5am, accompanied by exploding gas cylinders in the adjoining tool hire shop. School was cancelled and the road was closed all day, it was like a street party after the fire was put out!

11.2 today
