What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.7 this morning. Yesterday wasn't a fluke. Ho Ho. :woot:

Well I'm trying something different for breakfast this morning and going for a home made shake. I've had half a glass of coconut milk, mixed with three strawberries and a little bit of Greens complex - barley grass, wheat grass etc. As I'm writing the post I just thought its been around an hour, let's see what bloods are doing. 9.7!!!. Gosh that's scary, that's the highest I have ever noted! Plus I'm now warming up so its probably getting higher. I'll have to wait out the 2 hours to test again in the hope things have righted themselves, but lesson learned. This diabetes thing is a real pain in the neck. Bring on the sausages.

EDITED TO ADD: Blood result after 2 hours 6.6. Which on the less than 2mmol rise after 2 hours principal works out, but do I want my bloods to rise so quickly, so high. I am not sure. It certainly gave me a shock higher results than the couple of times I have tried porridge.

2nd EDIT; 4.9 at lunchtime, that's ok, better than usual.

7.3 again this morning, must still have been dreaming of steak pie, chips and ice cream. Only thing I can put rise down to is eating occasional blackberries after being roped into picking them yesterday. Didn't think I ate that many but possibly my liver had a different opinion.
I won't mention steak pie again!:

12.2

Feeling rotten, v hungry despite high BG. Experimented with 3 spoons egg mayo to see if I can shut my liver up.

1 hr later, 13.6

Still hungry, now also v frustrated

Edit: Hubby pointed out that finger might be contaminated, even though I'd washed it less than half an hour ago. A recleaned finger yielded a much less alarming 10.5
Know how you feel re being fed up and wanting to EAT .

12.7, retested other hand 10.7

Thinking recent high BGs might be due to female hormones as I have a pimple on my chin - a v rare occurrence these days

Edited to add "female" for clarity, after all aren't insulin and cortisol also hormones?

Ohhh pie chips mushy peas and gravy maybe I will treat myself when I get some FBG 's in the [emoji6]'s ...

lol

As a kid I lived in London and as a treat on rare occasions got taken to Manzes, a pie and mash shop

I haven’t had a pie for years and years and years . Somehow though the thought of it is still a treat

Oh wow….
5.0 on Dexcom, that can’t be right…..5.1 finger prick! I’m one happy camper! I forget what day I’m on of zero carb but maybe my liver has finally dumped it’s excess sugar…who knows, I’m just calling it a win for today because tomorrow could be, and likely will be, back to normal.
The sun is coming back and we’re in for some summer temperatures this week. A tad bit too hot for me but that’s ok. Air conditioning really helps!

caved in to an aulds mac n cheese n potato pie the other week ... was a bad idea. however i revisted mac n cheese pie and spooning out the filling :) they didn't go anywhere near as high, maybe its the pastry. or was it the sugarfree hazlenut latte had with it the last time around no idea :O i should prob test at somepoint ... effect of lattes and coffees seperately to foods ...

4.4 ..............and off for my HBa1C at 8.30. DN phoned from the hospital to see how I'm getting on and she was very happy with my recent figures. Hopefully, I'll get a better HBa1C than last times 75.........and if it's below 69, I go back on the knee replacement list. Fingers crossed please :)
did you get the result you hoped for? :) have had hba1c's back quickly a few times (when managed to get done on late on in the same day when was taken first thing) hope went well and back on waiting list for the op. best wishes .

Twenty three hour fast yesterday. Finished by eating a small chicken in the evening with butter

Hardly a bump on my libre

This morning I’m getting six point seven.
