What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.4libre breakfast then off to the pool in a bit :) i did a fingerprick test the other day, a1cnow result 43mmol not too sure how accurate it is, presume its more accurate than libres estimated 31mmol - imo sleeping little bit of compression skews their accuracy somewhat. may vein access hba1c was 46. and in january when inititally diagnosed a whopping 162. next time when manage to get bloods done will try fingerprick method again to see how they compare :)

5.8 today….i had a meltdown yesterday, full on cry. No carbs for two weeks, no snacking, not eating after 5….and still my blood sugar seems high….high sixes during the day. I’m so incredibly frustrated but also know that my pancreas is not all there…the tail is shrivelled and dead. Low carb will not always work….
So I ate a small bit of low carb granola, a huge treat. Then for breakfast today I had three tablespoons of yogurt (very low carb) with a bit of granola. Blood sugars did increase but not awful. I mentally feel better.
I HATE this….

I share your pain and frustration. Recently I went low carb (well approx below 30g per day) for just over 2 1/2 weeks when family were away and I could be in total control of my diet. I wanted to lower my numbers but the 1st morning figure stayed the same as did the gradual rise throughout the morning despite exercise, sometimes still fasting and doing everything I thought was right.
I was really hoping that going low carb would be the actual cure or fix for lowering my BS as so many of those in remission have had great results. Maybe I didn't give it enough time but I cannot live like a monk or hermit on such a restrictive diet and I get really angry at my own body's lack of co-operation. Sadly it is back to "normal" living and diet but happy we are all still here to tell the tales.
