What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.5 libre.
yesterday was the last day of the swimming pool regular hours. its now onto its new winter timetable. fri 2-5pm. sat 12-4. closes altogether directly after new year until somepoint in april easter holidays :(

will still be swimming later today :) heading to mainland for late afternoon consultant appt to discuss latest blood results. have a few questions for them. nutricianal ketones, still getting up several times a night to pee 3 times in 4 and half hours last night. pins & needles in some area's. hip and lower back very sore today. prob overdone it yesterday. also plan on asking nsaids ... effect on glucose levels. for last few months taking the very bare minimal seems glucose levels better perhaps just coincidence?

was very surprised at relatives choice of food they've been recently diagnosed with type2. and told to up their carbs. apparently given target hba1c 55-65. they've been given metformin and no ability to check blood glucose they seeing dsn in 2 weeks time. have signposted them to this forum :) his biggest complaint is conflicting advice from the same person at past few appts. presuming as his vision he can't focus is why told to up carbs. i had same issue after bloods started to get better only lasted a few weeks have said to try peserver a little with it. his lunch choice - steak pie roast potatoes with gravy loads of carrots & brocolli. wanted to share a large merignue with me for pudding glad they didn't end up getting that no wonder was sleepy after a couple of hours :O

As often as I can I start my day by cycling along the beach , it’s not far , stopping at the pull ups bars and going for a few pull ups on route to my favourite Portuguese cafe for a large coffee

In the summer it’s lovely. On days like today dressed in multiple layers it’s a challenge and a half

Libre says six point five

Haven’t been on in a while, life got in the way… still working away on trying to keep BS low

Today was 6.8 at 5am … mostly getting 6’s in the morning which I’m happy with but waiting for the elusive 5

Definitely getting lower morning score if I sleep well!

A other strange one, and not in a good way. 6.8 today…no reason. Kinda bummed… I went to the gym for abs and a yoga class, then Costco. Before lunch I was a perfect 5.1
I’ll take it
Cold today so I’m baking. Some gluten free browned butter chocolate chip cookies for hubby and some egg white buns for the both of us, will grill them tonight for burgers!

little bit sad local pool is shut. however appt at hosp yesterday so fancied swimming on the mainland. That was awesome so nice to have more than just the pool. Spoiled for choice! actual lane swimming not having to swim around folk when busy! there was some slides jacuzzi, sauna the lazy river was especially good :)

Consultant wrecked my dreams of potential misdiagnosis. Had hoped type2 (with possibility of reversal). c-peptide showed otherwise. So confirmed type1 lada honeymoon period at present ancreas still producing some insulin just low amount. matter of time before auto immune system kills off the remaining insulin producing cells.

Still struggle with blood draws even after several diazapan. I'll need to try get over fear of needles as will be necessary :(

Now that the bad news is out the way. was offered a little light: some injection thing which alters immune system somehow can't recall what it was called, i really should of brought pen and paper with me. It can apparently help to extend honeymoon phase. daily injections over a period of 14 days. He asked if was interested and was ok to give my contact details over. gad something or other injections i think is what he said. he is going to post me out more information on it so have that to look forward to and then weigh up risks vs reward. at present my thinking is well 14 days of single injections potentially saving 4+ injections per day is a no brainer, even if it can only offset inevitble for a while as long as its more than 4 days .. to me it perhaps is worth it, no idea what other risks involved presume its some sort of antirejection so guess would catch other bugs or something easier as auto immune system would be changed. The other more important brightside with confirmed diagnosis is can also work out a treatment plan :)
