Recently diagnosed pre diabetic so looking at ways to change some of the things I eat and the times of eating them. Currently eat Kefir yogurt either Yeo Valley or Biotiful brands with fruit often a banana as a pudding after evening meal. After doing some research I think I probably need to stop eating banana which is fine. Should I keep with these yogurts or swap to another brand entirely and having anything yogurt based eat it at a different time of the day?

Couldn't advise you on brands, but if you find the carb count a little high, maybe try full fat greek yog? And yeah, banana's aren't exactly the best choice, but berries would be better. Or pecans, walnuts, macademia's, that sort of thing. My yog usually gets some coconut, psyllium husk, cocoa powder, nuts and/or berries tossed in. Since we have the most insulin resistance in the morning, having it in the afternoon or in the evening is often better than ion the morning, so you're good there, already. I think you'll find swapping out the banana'll make a nice impact.

Lots of supermarkets have their own full-fat Greek plain yoghurt versions (read the labels as some are marketed as GREEK in big letters and 'style' in small print!) and they each differ subtly in flavour and texture. I don't add anything to mine, but a few berries or seeds or nuts or something like cinnamon or ginger would add to the taste if you like the idea.

When buying dairy yoghurt main guideline is to check the label - it should just be the milk and the cultures used to ferment it and that's all. Avoid any with added flavours, thickners or emulsifiers or fruit puree. The plain natural ones are often classed as Greek yoghurt but not exclusively. Most supermarkets now do their own version but favourites of mine when I don't have home made available are the Waitrose and Marks and Spencer full fat Greek ones and the Fage ones.
Stick to a few berries and if you like them seeds or nuts

Lidl's Greek yoghurt (the 10% fat one) is pretty good, as is the M&S 10%. Morrisons do a 10% but it's sold out every time I look for it. I use it mainly in cooking but these ones are always welcomed for breakfast purposes by the powers that be.

I go for the simplest I can find, nothing other than milk and the culture really.

I've always eaten Fage Total 5% Fat Greek Yogurt for as long as I can remember, both pre and post my T2 diagnosis. It's essantially the basic (Greek) yoghurt combination of milk, cream, and live yoghurt cultures. More recently I sometimes buy Yeo Valley's Organic Natural Yogurt which has the same basic ingredients and fat content as the Total, and a while ago I used to make my own basic yoghurt too. Like @KennyA, I prefer to get a plain yoghurt so I can add my own choices in the way of nuts and seeds, flavourings, suitable lower carb fruit, etc, if I fancy a bit of variety.

So @SRDO, I'd also suggest you check the labels for ingredients, avoiding any uneccessary or higher carb ones, and opting for plain brands with the milk/cream and live cultures , then you can add your own choice of suitable low carb extras instead.
