First time vistors want to see what's on offer clearly and easily.. Being hit with a whole load of information and forums can be rather off putting, and confusing. A balance of forums needs to be found, splitting down into too many forum or sub forums is more negative than helpfull..
We've broken down the forum nav into clear sections to help people find what they are looking for. Previously, the forum was a list that had become too long, it needed organising. As you may have noticed, greetings and introductions, diabetes discussions and ask a question are all at the top of the forum with the express purpose of helping first time visitors.
As people get confused to where they should be putting their post too... Do you put a post in the T1 or Ask A Question or perhaps would Exercise or One of the diet forums be better?????
Surely if it's a diet or exercise related post it would go into those forums? If it's a clear question, then it would be posted there or in discussions if a debate rather than an answer was expected. If it was T1 related, it would be posted in that forum?
I've find it strange why the person who designed the website change it's original colour from blue to red! Blue is easy on the eye as well as being a colour which is non threatening, but gives a clarity and sharpness etc. Red is a colour that most support forums will try to avoid, as it's a threatening and aggressive colour signaling danger etc.. Not an image that a support forum would want to display!!!
Changing to red saw the visitors to this site increase from a few thousand to hundreds of thousands each month. Thankyou for your advice, but we wanted this site to stand out from 'most support forums'
