Type 2 Life

Walking is the only relief . I've not had this pain since the bath incident. Yes it does make u cry. Have waited till his nibs went to bed before bursting in to tears. Cant even get comfy in my usual spot on sofa. Its not helped having to keep getting up for the loo. Must be weeing for Britain this past week. Getting blurred / double vision and a taste of salt on the tongue when I've been . Talk about thirsty as well.

Hope you feel better soon @tina_marie but please don't let the pain go on too long without seeing your GP. It's always good to talk to your health professional. Look after yourself.

Today's the day! Later this afternoon I get to find out the results from my hba1c test taken two weeks ago!!! We'll see what this lchf lifestyle has done to my t2. Hopefully it is kicked its butt right outta me!!

Also, @autisticwonder1970 - I don't know if you are interested, but macademia nuts, in 25g portions (I buy 200g bags at Tesco and divide in four for portion control) there are only 4 grams of carbohydrates. And all the fats will not only satisfy your body longer, but the carbs are so low it'll prolly not even blip your blood sugars.

Blessings!

Morning. FBG 10.8 mmol/l. Not feeling any better and still in a lot of pain. I've nearly finished the course of the antibiotics and it has not resolved so I am off to see the doctor, hopefully get a morning appointment. :)

Mmm, post swim I was up at 8.0 today, down to 7.3 though 30 minutes later. Have to accept numbers will be a bit random post stopping meds I think - will stick to LCHF religiously this week, swim every day, cut out the booze - and hopefully MySugr won't be showing such a high average next week.

I know it's not that bad, just got used to those 5's :):)

You'll hit them. And 4s. Just remember none diabetics only get them sporadically too. i believe they can reach 6s and 7s in times of stress.
You're doing brilliantly! Well done. :)

Sending you hugs @tina_marie I agree with @ickihun and @13lizanne, go and see your doctor as soon as you can. Both my brother and son displayed similar symptoms and were tested for diabetes, luckily they were both negative but it was such a relief for them. Now you're looking after Ron you have to look after yourself too

Thanks ... I'm just impatient - and an overachiever LOL, just have to stay focused and I will be ok :) stressful busy week at work so I can't let that derail me!

Hi folks - still recovering. Face is still swollen but I think the antibiotics are starting to shift this infection. FBG today 9.9 mmol/l and they should go down soon. Will catch up on posts when I'm feeling better - sorry I've not been on much but that's how I am when unwell. Night night :)
Eddie it couldnt be a severe attack of hayfever could it? It sounds like inflammation of your sinuses from all this nasty high pollen. Worse as day goes by? Have you tried piriton, at the start?

Delaying having a shower and breakfasting. I go to the gym to sort out a fitness programme today and am quite excited about it.

I want to breakfast late as I dont really want to start to go hypo at 11.30/12.00 (my usual time for that) and once I have showered, will probably spend ages working out what to wear .... bought some cheap gear from Sports Direct.

:)

Good Morning, my lovely friends,

It's another glorious sunny morning here in South London, today, Monday 6th June in the Millennium year of 2016. The sun is shining resplendently and the sky, although a bit greyish and threatening, is trying to adopt a lovely blueish-cyan hue.

My best friend Lee Collingwood has excelled himself recently and this morning he took me to a little cafe run by Portuguese proprietors in my locality. I'm good at counting and have a very proficient rote memory with my Asperger Syndrome and I have memorised the EXACT figures to everything I ate, some of which may be concerningly high complex carbohydrate counts. I ate 32 chips, 53 baked beans, 26 slices of mushroom, 2 rashers of bacon, 1 hash brown, 1 fried egg, 4 1/2's of toast, 1 extra-thick pork and cereal sausage and because I consumed an excessive amount of kilocalories and carbs I deliberately abstained from having sugar in my Cafe Latte, leaving both cylindrical tubes of granulated sugar untouched on the side of my saucer.

So back to the drawing board. I ate my Full English and am back on track for the Low Carb Programme. Lee has accepted that carbs exacerbate my blood glucose levels, today was just a little treat to say thank you for all the coffees he has received from me in my flat as well as my generosity in setting up email and Facebook accounts and allowing him to use my landline and mobile to make calls when he has no credit. I am going to reimburse him everything that he has spent on myself when I have adhered to my financial responsibilities on Thursday when I receive my £70.00 Personal Allowance Disposable Income from my Corporate Appointee (I have a financial guardianship arrangement, provided by Lambeth Adult Community Services and Lambeth Council due to my vulnerability and susceptibility to financial abuse). I owe Lee £18.28 pence and I am going to repay him that but bring it up to a £20.00 note and the difference will subsidise a small bottle of Stella Artois lager which he loves. I am teetotal, however.

I am going ask my Carer who goes shopping for me from Holistic Community Care PLC to purchase some Macademia nuts to snack on as well as some Mr. Porky Pork Scratchings as my dear friends, mutual diabetics and mentory acquaintances @Myangelsmom and @debrasue very kindly advised me on this forum. Although I had a slip up this morning, I'm still determined to manage my diabetes better and henceforth succeed on the LCHF diet in looking after myself and eating sensibly to counteract diabetic health complications.

Love to you all and Big Hugs, @autisticwonder1970 (Johnny Baker, Asperger Syndrome Sufferer)

@PenfoldAPD you're testing, you're exercising and you know that works for you. Stop stressing and go to work. Your diabetes will still be there when works finished. One thing at a time mate.
Otherwise if you're stressing about it, that stress will take you up. Defeats the object. Settle down and concentrate on work, for now.
Do what your doing now, very well and then sugar fighting later. Use techniques to prevent liver dumps. (Going long periods without low carb food)
Enjoy your day! :)

I like Sports Direct too, my son lives in tracksuits and trainers and they have clothes that fit him! He's 6 ft 3 and has size 13 feet ...

Well done, Johnny! You are doing really well at this, and good for you on making the decision not to have the sugar in your latte today. You could even keep a small packet of sweeteners in your pocket when you go out, so you don't get tempted. (Perhaps keep it with your roll-ups!) :)
Your breakfast was pretty good - I love a Full English, too. Maybe next time you could have an extra egg, mushrooms or bacon instead of the chips and the toast? I'm not going to say anything against the hash brown, because I have one of those now and again myself and it doesn't spike me. I think the fat they contain and the fact that they have usually been pre-prepared and then frozen helps slow down the rate at which the body breaks down the carbs from the potato....
I love your description of the weather again this morning, too - I can visualise it perfectly. There's a wonderfully creative side to your writing on stuff like this that I really like.
Have a great day, Johnny - and keep up the good work!
Hugs

Good luck with your result - we'll look forward to hearing how you got on!

Fun size bag
That wouldn't work for me. :(
Being a rabid chocoholic I'd have to eat the entire pack of fun-size bags and then go and get some more.
I can cope if I don't eat any chocolate at all, ever, but once I've tasted it I can't stop.... A chocolate haze descends and I am in another zone.
:grumpy:
