First 7 Day Fast COMPLETED!!

I started at 7pm last night and as you'd expect so far so good.

Started it at an interesting time, as I've had a bad chest infection for about a week or so and do started the fast last night with a BG of 7.2..

Day 1: ketones .5, BP 124/79, fat mass 16.6%, weight 11st 4lb, FBG 7.1 - 12 hours in.

More tomorrow:)

I'm on an intermittent fast today, chicken is slowly roasting in the oven for 3pm!

Should I have put that info, sorry, mate!

Good luck! I look forward to your updates.

One thing I find that helps is that I have different types of drinks that act as progression through the day, like meals. Coffee then herb tea then oxo in the evening. It's as close as I can be bothered to get to Jason Fung's homemade several hour cooked bone broth!

Yep...abided by that on my previous 4 day fast: coffee, green tea, water, bovril to keep up the salt:)

If you don't make it all 7 days just let it go. I could NEVER do that as I just love food too much haha

Well I'm no scientist but Doc describes it as a huge jolt of ECT (Electro Convulsive Therapy) for my insulin production.

Fung's view is the extended fast really empties the "fridge" (liver) of all my stored sugar (glycogen), so that my body can then easily access my "freezer", fat stores (40,000-90,000) Cal stores and happily starts burning it as fuel, clearing up any non-alcoholic fatty liver and subcutaneous fat deposits generally.

I am 4lbs if his estimated Personal Fat Threshold for me and I have 11 days to get rid of this prior to my second A1C, I'm inclined to think I can achieve the target. If I do, I will have lost 6.5 stone in around 4 years or so and kept it off. The last 2.5 stone (about 16 kilos) has come off in 3 months:)

So after exactly 24 hours, markers are:

BG 5.1 (so pleased with this, means my infection is well in retreat):)

Ketones: 0.6

BP: 118/76

Fat Mass: 16.6%

Weight: 11st 4lbs

Next report FBG tomorrow morning:)

Please can you outline your methodology, @KevinPotts ?
Are your fasts fluids only? No veg or soup, just clear fluids? Also, do you take vitamin supplements?
