Hello all. Blood sugars this morning were 4.9. Still suffering from a cold, which unfortunately has gotten worse. Felt too weak to exercise yesterday, but haven't eaten since 5:30 p.m.
@Granny_grump_ -- I agree with
@geefull. It is best to have something available when you feel a sweet snack attack coming on. I usually have either have a low-carb cake or low-carb chocolate mousse prepared (most have somewhere from 1g to 5g of carbs per 100g. Yesterday, I also made my own caramel-coated pecans (caramel prepared with erythritol and cream). So, I am not tempted by something much worse. If you are not so much into baking, high cocoa-content chocolate also works. The one I prefer has 85% cocoa content with 16g of carbs per 100g. So, even if I get carried away and eat half of the 80g bar, it is only about 7g of carbs. On my glucometer, this hardly makes a bump. Of course, there are also the savory go-to snacks such as cheese, nuts, pork rinds, and olives.
@ianpspurs -- I have seen my fasting glucose go up by about half a mmol to one mmol in the last year -- so obviously a bit worried about this. It seems this sometimes happen when you have a low-carb or ketogenic diet and is called adaptive glucose sparing. I found this an interesting read

@HarrisonK -- Brilliant progress with your fasting levels, they are coming down quickly.
