I still don't know why I have asthma unless big swollen tummy pushing up my lungs? But is that asthma? Taking asthma meds but flow test said 40and I'm 47yr old. I'm just a fraction low. That linctus is great. Helping with congestion too.
I'm just congested too much lately. Again, don't know why. Humf!
GP is great for helping me relieve problems but I like to stop them happening again.
Poor man. Maybe I'm asking too much.
Ive stopped metformin but still using mebeverine for IBS without any diarrhea so metformin... is the cause.
DN said I can stop it. I will till op all done and dusted.
I need stomach cramps and spasms away more than a tiny fraction on my hba1c which was 51 from 48.
Specialist still happy as not in hundreds.

COPD and asthma have very similar symptoms. However after a spirometry test (blowing out into a machine that measures your lung function) they give you mega doses of Salbutamol and ask you to retake the test 20 minutes later. If you have asthma your breathlessness will significantly improve but with COPD it doesn’t. There are a lot of overlaps between both conditions. COPD is common amongst current or ex-smokers.

Not bad, just to keep going with the same inhalers, one of which is a steroid. BGs are good. Bought a nice thick exercise mat on eBay so I can start working on my abs lol. Want rid of my puppy fat around my belly which has taken off since my diabetes diagnosis and immobility. Got chicken breasts to cut up, hate slimy chicken lol. :)
 
@ickihun that’s pretty low on the peak flow. I know on my spirometry test I scored FeV1<50 which is borderline stage 2-3. :)

I did my inhaler and it improved by 1 digit.
Just realised it was whilst anaemic and now on iron tablets. So it should be better now. Fingers crossed.
I'm using a decongestant/linctus and my night breathing is hugely better. No snoring which I don't normally do but Mr ickihun said I was snoring last week.
Still not taking metformin. I'm gutted as it helps with my weight and hormone disruptions. I've restarted mebeverine tablet and no diarrhea any more. Metformin is the culprit. I'm very sad about it. :( :( :(
 
@eddie1968 could I have misunderstood 40 for 400 on my peakflow result. I'm sure the nurse said 40 thou.
What do you think? I have no idea about asthma. Once again not familiar to my family.

Ps. 4yr old is being assessed for ASD. I 've had a hellava life with his babyhood. I'm just relieved that stage in his life has gone. We are in toddler stage now. I have to watch him like a hawk!

They are off next week so not paying for Internet in replacement for days out. I'll use daily top-ups for 50mb data. And try and keep up.

Metformin caused me to vomit but mainly diarrhoea. My colorectal surgeon wrote to my GP and told him I was unsuitable for it. :)
 
Morning. 7.5 mmol/l at 8am. Been feeling full of energy since my BGs are trending <10 first at breakfast and this has been like this for 5 weeks now. Doing more walking and doing my warm-ups and stretches too. Combined with a restricted carbohydrate diet I think I am going in the right direction. I was 92.5 kg on my birthday and now 90.5 kg. :)

Dunno but 40 is very short of breath. The peak flow measures a single component (FVC) whereas the Spirometry test measures more aspects of your lung function. :)

Getting the carbs down works wonders. I am doing lots more walking now. Have signed up to do a long distance walk next year for charity - that'll keep me focused.

When is your next Hb1ac due?

My Carers' Care Supervisor yesterday to review my support plan; a lot has changed in my life since my care package started, although I've quit smoking for 125 days (over 4 months!!) I do have a lot of niggly pain in my right-hand side and lower to middle back which could be caused by wear-and-tear and muscular degeneration and muscle wastage. I'm waiting for an appointment with a qualified physiotherapist at my local hospital to have treatment in the form of hydrotherapy and muscle strengthening exercises. My Care Supervisor is worried that I tend to have a massive meal and then go for a few days after that occasion without eating or only eating a sandwich or something like that. Thie latter problem could be caused by my Asperger Syndrome because at times I feel overwhelmed and anxious about the textures and consistencies of certain foods. My Care Supervisor is going to liaise with my care coordinator and the council about getting my urine soaked beige two-seater couch taken away as I wet it to due to my adult-onset nocturnal enuresis and urge incontinence. I'm seeing my mental health key worker tomorrow to discuss my referral to the supported housing (24 hr) where I shall be more able to perform my ADLs. As I said on Facebook, me and independent living have had their day. Although I've made a lot of progress, I still need this input. A lot of people are really worried about me and I'm worried myself.

I've just taken my Lixisenatide Glucagon-Like Peptide 20 Microgramme Subcutaneous Injection which is also called Lyxumia and my 1000 Milligrammes of Metformin Hydrochloride, plus my Adult ADHD medication, high blood pressure, Paracetamol and Urine-Stimulating Medication for my 1 Litre Residual of Urine in my Bladder due to Urinary Retention.

So far, I've ingested one Chicken and Mushroom little Pukka Pie and my blood glucose fifty-five minutes after taking my first bite was a very hyperglycaemic 14.8 Millimoles Per Litre, probably the pastry in the Pukka Pie plus added glucose in the filling. I'm very naughty indeed, a naughty little tyke, but I believe I shall drink plenty of water to hydrate myself and reduce my blood glucose levels with the help of my medications.

Johnny worrying is part and parcel of diabetes but you are doing the right thing by informing your carers.
This will get better. Like you have noted your carers have identified your support need so.... are they going to help you find support living accommodation?

Its normal to have to throw out soiled bedding or seating due to ASD. We have to with our little man. He is under a paediatrian now for assessment. It seems ASD is becoming more and more common and manageable due to more and more awareness and specialist's interest.
I know at your age you haven't fully benefitted from top quality care throughout. Which has been the biggest sin of our greedy society.
I hope you receive news soon for a new residence and greater support. You deserve the very best.
Youre up early is that due to worrying?

Johnny I'm not going anywhere. I've had diabetes a very very long time. Like you I guess, I have other conditions which can make diabetes management harder.
I will have diabetes for life and bariatric surgery will just help me manage it easier with less complications. I don't mind diabetes when it's easier to manage. It's my other conditions which complicate my life. You too, I guess?

I often envy those with just diabetes, especially diet only controlled new diabetics as it must be lovely not to take all my tablets and injections. More tablets for pain now but I'm praying only a temporary measure. I have a better MSK appointment on 24th April. I'm hoping they exam and scan my problem area, in my back/pelvis/leg/bum. Scatica pain doesn't even ease on tramadol and 3 other painkillers so there must be something wrong somewhere. I've suffered this horrendous pain for 2yrs+ now. It needs to go. Obviously not going on its own. Like we all preferred.
We are conquers @JohnnyBaker12021970. We will be better off soon. ;)

I am one of those @ickihun although my cholesterol was raised so I'm on statins as well as metformin. Compared to you I have a very easy life and sometimes take the mick, especially with drinking but I have cut that back greatly. I have in the past had a prolapsed disc so know something of the pain you are having but now I just have to be careful with my back. I am a scouser with a positive attitude and mostly try to laugh my way through life but I've had my issues in the past and I'm sure I'll face some more.

It's good that you, @JohnnyBaker12021970 & others can come on here and share/vent/rant if you need to sometimes just getting things off your chest helps.

Your prolapsed disc? How did it get resolved? It makes me sooo grouchy, do you remember if you were grouchy? Or is it off meds or higher blood pressure.
I will ask my GP next week to check my blood pressure. I have to get it checked regularly. I think at mo due to pain.
@heh all I ask is you look after yourself well. I know because you've joined here that you are doing that.
How many are newly diagnosed and wander around the lonely ship of diabetes and never seeing sight of land (remission)?
It breaks my heart!
Well done for fighting your diabetes into hopefully remission. Do you low carb eat? It's the best tool that any none type1 diabetic can use to keep glucose damage at bay.
This forum is the saviour of so much reversible damage. Even for type1s there is so much support to well control their diabetes.
We are definitely in the right place.
 
Afternoon. 7.6 mmol/l at breakfast so good. Forgot to mention my blood pressure went a fair bit down at the nurse review yesterday. 158/98 at the hospital clinic last month to 133/78 yesterday. Need to get some groceries today but not old Mother Hubbard yet lol. Feeling positive about things in general so adios. :)
