Type 2 Life

Afternoon. 7.6 mmol/l at breakfast so good. Forgot to mention my blood pressure went a fair bit down at the nurse review yesterday. 158/98 at the hospital clinic last month to 133/78 yesterday. Need to get some groceries today but not old Mother Hubbard yet lol. Feeling positive about things in general so adios. :)
With your blood pressure I bet your purring like a cat. Ha ha
Its not too low, is it thou?

Just been reading my lab results and trends on My Diabetes My Way NHS Scotland - you can check all your data over the Internet. Been using it for a few years now. Most of my diabetes tests are not great so got work to do on getting them better. My HbA1c was 83 so need to get to 50-60 as a target. My Albumin/Creatine ratio is very bad, my kidneys are taking a hit, it was 15.9 in Feb and 29.9 in Oct. It should not be above 3 so need better glucose control and maybe more meds. :)

Not too low, sort of normal considering my general health. Talking about cats I saw on the BBC news website today a story on the Scottish Wildcats - one was pictured and they reckon it was big, about 4 feet in length. Hope there aren’t any prowling near here lol. I live in a rural area and plenty of deer and wildlife about. No more “Here kitty kitty” lol. :joyful:

Ron has not been sleeping very well and for the last two nights has been away in his recliner chair . Yesterday he tried to have a nap for a couple of hours but didn't manage that. Everytime he closes his eyes his body goes into spasm . Not been able to get any appointments to see gp. His muscle weakness isn't improving and still no appointment from Derby Royal. Five months ago gp sent off the referral.

Your prolapsed disc? How did it get resolved?
Exercises & ibuprofen sorted it for me, it was painful at times but I don't remember being too grouchy.
Do you low carb eat?
I am much lower carb than I used to be but I'm off to France tomorrow in our motorhome and it's not as easy to resist over there :)

Hope you all have a good weekend, "see" you next week.

Good Morning, my lovely friend, @heh, is your motorhome like a caravanette? I hope and pray that you have a wonderful time, a time to recuperate and relax. One of the teachers (Head Teacher Mr Rob Dickenson) at my special needs boarding school near Holsworthy, Devon, had a caravanette. It was manufactured by Bedford vehicle construction company and was really cosy and snug inside. France is very beautiful, too. My best friend, who is now 80 and in a care home, has a brother called Peter who lives in the Massif Central region of France near Montpelier in a small town called Monoblet and he loves it there. Je suis un petit garcon qui aime tres joyeaux gens and est un fils de tres bien et Dieu magnifique. I hope my French grammar is okay, it's a bit rusty since I got my French CSE back in 1986 when I was 16. Have a lovely break, dear, sweet inspirational friend from type 2 life, @heh, xXx.

Oh @JohnnyBaker12021970 if only I did have a caravanette and able to travel. @heh is the one travelling.

Johnny am sorry for going into so much detail in my post recently. I think I might be confusing you.
I get confused too... all the time.

Enjoy your break away @heh . I've stayed in Paris a few times and on one occasion went to Disneyland Paris. Well before diagnosis.
Many moons ago! Ha ha
I either flew there or used Eurostar. Parts of Belgium and Denmark are very beautiful especially where they have reclaimed the land.
I love reminiscing!

@JohnnyBaker12021970 This is what our motorhome looks like. It's quite big and very comfortable and we love it.
France is our favourite place but we've been to Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and of course all over this country.

Have you been on any trips lately @JohnnyBaker12021970? Ask your care team if any places this year. They may let someone more familiar to tag along. Ask mate.
If I get approved for living at a sheltered housing complex I really like where I attend my Mencap gardening group near to where I live currently, which is a sheltered housing establishment in a care home setting with 41 self-contained flats so I can still keep some of my independence, they have trips out on a regular basis, with supervision by the care workers. They also have a House holiday once a year, too. I'm hoping the panel will approve me and award me with this type of care. The website says the eligibility criteria are 51-year-olds upwards but there are also people in their thirties and forties there with severe disabilities, which include autism spectrum disorders.

Fingers crossed you get approval, when will you know?

I'm seeing my Senior Occupational Therapist who coordinates my care in the community today, @heh, with my advocate to get an update on my referral to sheltered housing. My senior clinical psychologist who has just given me cognitive behaviour therapy treatment has evaluated that I'll be more able to perform my activities of daily living in this type of environment. The two 1 and a half hour sessions of care with my Carers, the psychologist feels, isn't enough. I'm having immense difficulty coping and maintaining my tenancy. The FACE assessment has been completed by my occupational therapist and she's taken into account my level of care needs and vulnerability. All my care team feel my quality of life could be heightened in an environment like sheltered accommodation and equip me better to carry out my ADL's.

Well done @JohnnyBaker12021970. %) :) :)

I've had a letter from g.p today they are stopping my testing suppliers saying that I no longer need to test.
