Which Food Supplements Do You Take?

I take the following daily capsules with my doctor’s permission:

L-Carnosine with Alpha Lipoic Acid
Cinnamon 500 mg
Pomegranate 1000 mg
Vitamin B Complex
Black Cumin Seeds (Nigella Sativa)
Karela 500 mg (Bitter Melon)
Ester C

I take no supplements.
I tried to eat a healthy balanced diet and do plenty of exercise.

Perhaps this is easier with type 1?

I take no supplements as I have no deficiency symptoms and my blood markers are fine.
I have taken R-ALA in the past, but none since December.

I have taken vitamin C and zinc, and calcium with vitamin D since before my diabetes diagnosis, as they are both thought to be of benefit to people with arthritis.
Since being diagnosed type 2 I take vitamin B complex, cinnamon and Benecol yoghurt drink (if that counts as a supplement?)

D3 in Winter because I don't live in Florida
Zinc (had a cold sore and plenty of vit C seemed to help)
Cod liver oil - not sure why !

I do feel lucky to be healthy and have not had a cold this Winter. I am type 1 and have always felt like I had a slightly too good immune system (it nuked my insulin cells at age 10 after all...)

It took another 40 years for mine to be killed off but I agree about feeling I have a strong immune system. I rarely get the colds and sore throats that others seem to get.

The only supplement I have taken was vit D in the winter months prescribed by my doctor in France. Its given fairly routinely to women over 65 (and infants) My new English GP looked somewhat askance at it when we were going through my prescription.

I don't think of herbs and spices as supplements but a natural part of my diet, used in modest amounts - I do have some fish oil capsules, and some alpha lipoic acid tablets which I take a couple of times a week when I remember, but if my health depended on me remembering to take tablets - I'd be doomed, I think.

1. Omega 3 fish oil
2. 50+ multivitamin
3. Chromium picolinate
4. Milk thistle
5. Lactobacillus Acidophilus (probiotic)
6. Fructo-oligosaccharide powder (prebiotic)
Occasional ACV and Glucomannan
