Thanks @Knikki , pretty much what I've gleaned from the blurb. I'm also wondering if the "L2" will become a straight replacement making the first gen obsolete & unobtainable with a possible profile shape change for the L2 due to the Bluetooth function, thus making it difficult for Miaomiao & Bluecon add on users??

You can understand my reluctance to sport out on a Miaomiao... :banghead:

Yeah if I was in the same place I would hang off getting a MiaoMiao as well.

As L2 has 'benefits' I think that L1 will get discontinued once the new one has rolled out across the world. If L2 is going to be the same price then I cant see why they would keep L1 on the shelves.

Oh Morning.

Morning all. Not pleased, I was awoken at ungodly o’clock by a text from Royal Mail about a parcel delivery. Takes the shine off the fact a parcel’s about to arrive.

@Jaylee The L2 straight out the box won't be a patch on an L1 with miaomiao - the L2 only send bluetooth signals when it hits the upper or lower limits so I'm lead to believe. But agree if the L1 will be phased out and the MM can't read an L2 it's a dead end road to go down.

Morning all, have my other replacement medtrum sensor on now, I purposely left my phone in the kitchen last night, not wanting to be disturbed sleeping, so it all sync'd up this morning and was pleased to see since midnight a nice steady graph and 100% in target - winner! :woot: .............Soon to be quashed come blood test and calibration...........10.1! :sour:

Same for me, Helen, tho I don’t spin. A BG above 8 makes every physical action more onerous. I can’t understand how people who ‘run’ at 8 or above day to day have a decent quality of life. Best feelings, physical and psychological, lie between 4.5 and 6.

Good morning all. Bloods behaving at last :)
My phone S8+ has stopped picking the signal off the MM at the mo and I can't work it out BUT my Ticwatch is still getting signals from it, so S8 problem I think. I think the signals from the L2 are coded and the MM cant pick them up at the mo? I know that xdrip and and mm and the likes are working on a solution BUT they are taking there time about it

BUT they are taking there time about it

I doubt they are taking their time..........it's just a harder nut to crack - if at all possible.

It does make me wonder about Abbotts 'thinking' though. You have a medical device that is the number 1 CGM type device so much so that you can't keep up with demand. You make a half hearted effort to turn it in to a full CGM, knowing thats what the customers really want - and some actually spend a fair bit of money buying a 3rd party device that does exactly that and so they in effect block that by encrypting the data (the scan as well as the bluetooth data).

Would it not have made sense to bring out the L2 without encrypting the scan data, and then cuddling up to MM and coming up with LibreMiao - maybe twice the size of L1 and L2 but half the size of Libre & Miaomiao?

This from a few days ago:

Marek Macner seems to be the project lead with the xdrip/spike folks and, if I'm reading it correctly, he has at least managed to get data out of L2 to Spike by using his homebuilt transmitter T-Mini on top and turning it into a bg reading.

I know naff all about the complexities of bluetooth, let alone encryption, but that seems to be a start - opens up the possibility of at least getting round the encryption so we can still use mm/blucon.

I suppose the next step will be whether they can now figure out how to use the bluetooth in L2 itself instead of a separate transmitter.

There's a link in the article to his facebook page, I'm not on facebook so can't follow it, maybe there'll be updates there. I'll be keeping an eye on the deebee.it page though.

Samsung have issues with blue tooth especially if it is connected to a few devices or can pick a load up. I get the same issue with mine every now and again.

Couple of things I do.
Check that the MiaoMaio and Libre are in contact with each other, sometimes the MiaoMiao will move very slightly like when showering or drying off.
Reboot phone.
Check that MiaoMaio is being picked up on the blue tooth, again back to Samsung issue, can result in switching blue tooth detection on an off a number of times.
Switch off the ability to send to the watch via xDrip.
Check what the setting are on the Wear for both Phone and Watch, sometimes some of the setting change no idea why have noticed this a couple of times and always have check on line to see what the setting should be.

If all that does not work power both phone and watch off, startup phone first then watch.

But sometime it can just be a butt monkey.

Hope you sort soon :)

Thank you @Knikki. Turned the phones bluetooth on and off a few times, turned the Ticwatch off and the S8, turned them all on and hey presto its working :). And there is no missed data on Xdrip as well!

Decided to clear out my 'diabetes drawer' this morning and discovered i'd collected 36 empty novorapid bottles from when I first started using the pump, so have a serious hoarders issue going on, any ideas of what I can do with them ? Was thinking of linking them up to fairy lights and making a a feature of them
