What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.1. Amazed.

Had an indian last night. Did have it with cauli rice though. Picked chicken tikka saag which is basically chicken in spinach so very low carb, no sauce as such. 2 small onion baji and a spicey lamb cutlet. Washed down with 3 glasses of prosecco. I also had cheese and mixed nuts whist watching the Greatest Showman and no, that's not hubby doing a routine of 'you can leave your hat on' for my Valentine's treat ;-)

I have my libre on. Kept checking as it was different food. Highest point after 1 hour from a 6.0 starting point (gutted it was this high, didn't think when I had a snack of 85% choccie at about 4pm) was 8.7 where it only stayed for less than 5 mins and started to come back down. I'm loving this libre. It did read high yesterday when I got out of the shower so I finger pricked. My libre was way out so I'm just wondering if showers have that effect. Hot water. Not sure if anyone knows the answer.

Definitely a better way to go just testing once. Personally, I do wonder if testing is becoming like looking at our smart meter. Numbers on both show up but there is very little I can / am prepared to do to lower them and still have everything I feel I need to function in an acceptable way. That is one of the big things making me very unsure about using a Freestyle Libre - seeing numbers I could realistically do nothing about would be a huge waste of money
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.:arghh:

Very true, it’s easy to become obsessed with the numbers.

Not so much the obsession as the ability (honesty?) to admit where the lines in the sand/red lines are for each of us. For me LC, as filtered through the lens on here, is inherently unpalatable but I can see LC has a place in controlling diabetes. Whole swathes of food can't be LCed and it is folly to pretend they can. Now, testing to establish just where those red lines lie is useful. Eating cheesey mince and saying yum is well beyond my own red line but chacun a son gout.

It’s such a shame you don’t enjoy the food, must make it so much harder for you. I know what you mean about cream cheese in DD recipes and I have to step away from those sometimes, but on the whole I really enjoy this woe so it makes life very much easier for me.
Are you feeling more relaxed now you’re not testing so much?

Browsing the forum, so decided to follow someones recipe .Lol.
Heres my chocolate nut snack bar. .delicious .
( 1 and a half squares of 80% Lidl J.D.Gross Ecuadorian., Knob of butter, .decent splash of mixed nuts )
So easy, even I can do it. Hahaha. :D

Very much doubt MARS etc are quaking in their boots, but i certainly enjoyed.

5.7 at 5:30 this morning. I'm not usually up before the sun but I woke up hungry so decided to get up, test, and have breakfast.

Happy Flag Day to @Chronicle_Cat and everyone in Canada!

Heard a plug for Metformin on Doc Martin last night.

Well, another short break in London comes to an end. Weather has been excellent. Out all day yesterday and managed 12 miles ogling at stuff on the way. Met an old friend at the Tower of London that I hadn’t seen since 1982, now a Yeoman Warder and just happened to be by the entrance as we wandered in.
6.1 at 0830 this morning. Must have been the lobster soup; I had a bowl of it while Mrs Miggins tucked into an afternoon tea - at 7pm.
Have a great day if you can.

I'm glad you had such a good time in London. :)

Amen to that! :)

My Libra goes nuts after I have had a sauna. Graph looks like a cross section of Kilimanjaro

Thanks for the concern. 2 months with basically no testing. I will test again but I need a definite reason such as finding out what specific food and exercise combinations do. Another issue I have is the wide difference between home testing and lab results. It is not one way either has been both higher and lower. I can cope with not enjoying the woe but I don't see any of the claims for it personally other than a very good weight loss programme. I think the virtual cutting out of coffee is as much to do with being more chilled than no testing.

Looks great and good to be able to make a small amount unlike many recipes! Looks like the Aldi nut bars! Thanks for making me smile after my bad FBG above!
