That post and @dunelm's chocolate olive cake prompted a sliding doors/join the dots moment for me - I'm from the Fens so a bit thick. Over the last year I have seen very respectable body composition stats without any improvement in bg control. 100% chocolate and that cake are perfect examples of foods I have tried as they are low carb but strongly disliked. During the last year there is a growing list of foods that , LC or not, I just won't eat. Hopefully, I am just refining my food range - it is getting quite narrow but unless I am medically directed to urgently eat x, y or z food I am determined not to eat anything else just because it is LC. Long winded way of saying try things you learn of on here but be honest with yourself about what you can tolerate or you won't stay the course.Ah that’s not the same as mine, which was from Hotel Chocolate but I love Montezuma’s absolute black chocolate bars too ( Sainsbury’s sell them) so great result. I did wonder if they made an Easter egg.
Great that its 1/2 price now too - I did the same in January and bought a Hotel Chocolate advent calendar half price too!
Fingers crossed all goes well gennepherAm in a rush this morning. Writing this while waking up with coffee. I have all day hospital appointment
I may go in search of that chocolate later DJC...I seem to be getting organised in the house which is most out of character for me...so there's no reason why I cant fit in a shop...another coffee firstAh that’s not the same as mine, which was from Hotel Chocolate but I love Montezuma’s absolute black chocolate bars too ( Sainsbury’s sell them) so great result. You'd faint if your saw my poor garden geeful...it's been 'Harried' hoping it hasn't gone past the point of no return...I'm planning an assault on it this weekend...wish me luck. The gorse bush outside her gate I decided to tackle is looking decidedly worse than I am though, I was just going to trim it back a bit, but then I got ambitious
I agreeDJC3 on how our tastes change. I used to hate the bitterness of dark chocolate. (Reminded me of X-Lax mum gave to me as a child to avoid constipation! LOL).From Hotel Chocolat, I got one for Easter and scoffed it quite quickly so popped into the Truro branch afterwards and picked up 2 more which were in the sale by then!
Only 5.6 g carbs per 100g so even if I went mad and ate the whole thing in 1 sitting it wouldn’t do too much damage. It is VERY dark and bitter though, which I like now - can’t believe how my taste has changed, I only used to like Cadbury’s Dairy Milk.
@zauberflote - I think that I did but here you go:

I think that I got it from @Goonergal
Just replace the 200g caster sugar with your favourite alternative - I used 65g stevia.

I admit I still find 100% dark chocolate a tad too bitter. Enjoy your eggs if they've not been eaten already.

Morning All. Just about! Not long home, woke up in Kent to. 7.1 after a large cod from chip shop for supper and 2-3 hours sleep. Looked after my friends 17 yr old Westie yesterday who is very much in decline but it was all good. However last night when we went to bed he coughed (didnt sound exactly like a cough) continuously until 4am, wandered around, wanted to get in the garden 4 times. I think there may be a bit of dementia going on and he is really bad at night compared to day. Though he is in bad shape he is still enjoying his food. Its very sad I’ve known him all his life and he has mum have been on holiday with us many times. My poor friend is recovering from cancer and he is her world.
@gennepher so glad the drains got sorted efficiently and hope all goes well today at the hospital. The technology sounds amazing.
@DJC3 I am trying to get used to having cream in my coffee in prep for June!!! Its not that bad and must agree it does seem filling! I have to stir it in though.
Have a good first of May everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
I hope everyone had a good weekend! yep I know its wednesday ha ha. I can't seem to find this thread on my mobile phone so finally logged in on my laptop and here it is!
