What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Wow. You are doing such a service to your community, and I assume it's a labor of true love!!!! That's so wonderful that the Ladies who Lost were able to a) do it and b) share!

My mum is my driving force. Suffered with her diabetes. Registered blind, stroke, sores on her legs not healing, community nurse every day. Uncontrolled bs. No guidance given to her or our family. Things could have been so different. Sadly no longer with us but obviously is in spirit.

Thanks Bubbsie you have made me laugh about it...as @zauberflote says I just want a house to go to with good bones and can adapt. Ours is a spacious family house with an acre of garden with different zones and the garden gets lookd after really well. I think the families who would love our house probably cant get that mortgage any more but we cant give it away!
Thanks girls for the solidarity...and making me smile.

Lol I'm just saying what I look for. Older, brick, on block, not balloon construction (you know, brick on frame), original leaky windows for fresh air for heaven's sake, hardwood floors, plaster on lathe or lattice, and trees trees everywhere. We've never lived in a house with a yard bigger than .4 acre, and probably our chance is gone. We'd thought of 5-10 acres out in the country, but I'm older and less robustly healthy now. So we lower our sights to the neighborhood we raised the kids in. Walk to the river, and good bones as laid out above. Any very mature subdivision would do but that one is a hidden gem and 15 minutes from anywhere in town. Mr ZF WILL retire someday, I KNOW he will! (I won't. One retirement at 52 was enough for me. ) we'll be our own bosses and travel anywhen we want!

Oh my word. I think you've mentioned that before. I hope you are starting a quiet local revolution!

Interesting experiment, part of a longer study to be made: waited until mid afternoon for chocolate. Had 2 sq 90% and nought (naught? We don't use those words, please advise) else for lunch, and immediately went for a fast 3 mile walk which involved personal bests and sweat. BG dropped from 5.8 to 5.3. 2 hr after breakfast (normal usual but no choc) it had been 6.8. Test 1 positive results! Now to arrange a 3 mile walk every afternoon. Impossible: in a month's time it will be unbearably hot during the day, and my personal limit is 80F. Well, I guess I'll just have to see what happens if I don't exercise after the chocolate, riiiiiight?

Nowt? (I don't know; just a guess.:D)

My personal limit for walking any distance at all is mid-70s; I can do a short walk up to 80; I have been known to walk across a 20-acre pasture at 90 to catch up a horse but I felt like Lawrence of Arabia and had to walk in the horse's shade like a camel's. (That would be mid-20s to low 30s. C)

I wouldn't say quiet! I almost got banned from the DESMOND course. Went with my recently diagnosed brother in law. The ladies who run it sent a message to my surgery. Apparently I was too 'vocal'. That was me trying to not say too much Haha.

good morning campers and bon weekend if you are not working today.
my wonder wheel of merry japes and jests brought forth a scintillating 5.1 this morning, confirming that sea bream, cockles and squid are the way to go.
It's a bit dour outside at present, is summer now over?

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and if you're not look away now.

A delicate 5.4 greeted me this morning, pleading with me not to take it on the pillion seat of my motorcycle.

Well I and the rest of me have made it as far as Cromer, where the the weather can be described as bracing. I might follow the sat nag to Norwich or more reliably follow the road signs, after Norwich, Cambridge a place of punts and educated Don's. Yep the mafiosa type.
Well folks enjoy today. In the history books today will be described as unique.

good morning all :)

4.6 today

We're still hanging onto a bit of sunshine this morning but the forecast says clouding over later and rain/heavy rain tonight, better get some gardening done this morning ;) We have a couple of plants to put in so at least we won't have to do a big 'watering in'

It was really warm here yesterday, we were inside most of the day in the cool but the car park was like a griddle :hilarious:

hope your day treats you well :)

Good morning from a very cloudy West Sussex. But its all sunny in my world...5.1 on the meter. I cant say I did anything different other than have a new gin for my nightly tipple. Will test it further...of all the medicine..could be on to something big!!
So close to McGarrett country..anyone seen @jjraak?
Have a great Friday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Morning All. Late on report, got very sidetracked early on. Anyway 6.5 at 08.15 so not good. Like @ianpspurs said welcome to the Hotel California. I am in a bit of a downward spiral atm due to upcoming eye injections and stress of house selling. We found the ideal house to move to but its gone. I am usually circumspect about most things but moving house is very testing. The trouble with our home is all the furniture is old (not in a good way!), thrashed by raising two boys and two cats and though its clean and bright a lot of young buyers seem to put a lot of weight on “aspirational presentation” and we dont the pass that test.
@Debandez that was a very positive result from your meeting, hopefully as more come on board the others will be encouraged. @Shas3 thats quite a transformation in those photos and I have no doubt your BG numbers will soon be transformed too.
@Bubbsie sounds like a good evening, funny Harry and his yogurt, we had a cat who loved custard and ice cream, we only let him lick the bowls before they went in the DW.
@dogslife glad you had a special day with your mum. Lovely memories.
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.
Moving home is so stressful in itself, you have lots more going on. Sending you BIG VIRTUAL HUGS.
