Thank you very much for the good wishes.

Fruit raises my levels quite a bit, BUT I think when I have them with double cream that stops them raising so much. 6 strawberries would have been two much for me. However one or two (depending on size, some are large) thinly sliced with some double cream on, don’t impact too badly.
And I add a teaspoon seeds on top.

Not as nice as eating sunkissed strawberries from the garden I admit.

Take care x

LOL I must remember this. I have extra thick double cream on everything now just to make sure it keeps my levels low (and my mood up)

Po I cannot eat cream of any kind and struggle with plain yogurt except I can have a spoonful of Fage if my curry turns out too spicy. Its not fair I just want to be able to eat naked strawberries! Although if I could stop at 3 there might be a chance :angelic:

Guys Googled -- !!!

I didn't know, hadn't a clue what I was looking for...but I googled 'who were the brothers who built a town after a fire'...How on earth did Google come up with the right answer??? How did Google know, when I couldn't even backtrack through this thread to find the town you were referring to....

Well if you cast your mind back to your last life you would know why you.... (Just kidding)

Life really is unfair at times. TBTH. I could not have managed over the last couple of months or so without having cream. I genuinely feel so sorry for you PM, and all others who can't have cream for whatever reason.

I have at least two or three coffees with double cream a day, a jelly with two heaped dessert spoons of extra think (quadruple cream as I call it) every single day, after my evening meal. PLUS I often sneak in the fridge and quaff a couple of teaspoons of ‘quadruple’ out of the pot when the cat is not looking.

BTW. Who thinks cats are psychic? She has an uncanny way of knowing when I open a new pot of cream…. She always get to lick the foil cover before I bin it.

It’s an unusual name I guess. In Norman times illegitimacy was not regarded with the contempt as it may be now - I do wonder if tha may be due to prudish Victorians or crazy religions - someone will know. Lots of folk, including the Duke of Normandy used the word Bas**rd keenly. Then there is the Fitz lot.
There is a place of that name in Cornwall - I have a file in the garage somewhere carrying the same name (and probably a hammer).

5.6 which I'm ecstatic about having been living it up in Liverpool for 2 days. I try and make the best choices eating out but you just dont know what's lurking in food when you dont cook it yourself. Had an amazing time. The weather was kind too and got to spend quality time with my girlfriend. Don't see her very often so it was really nice. The Shankly Hotel could not have been more perfect. Great location too. The Cavern had a great vibe for our evening out. I love the Liverpool accent too. And the people are so friendly and funny. Took a wrong turn, ended up almost in the mersey! In the mersey tunnel! Went miles out of our way it felt like and had to pay for the privilege! Then the nice guy on the toll on the way back felt sorry for us and let us off. Kind people too!
seen this and couldnt resist debs FB_IMG_1559315285212.jpg

good afternoon all :)

was 4.7 this morning

As expected it was a grey and soggy day all day and it's still raining here, it wasn't a very quiet day in the charity shop so the time passed quite quickly ;)

@gennepher hope you get some good, restorative rest.

@Bubbsie I agree knitting is quite therapeutic your 'urban' knitting sounds interesting, I haven't done much knitting like that, the only remotely similar thing I've made so far is the crochet owl I made a couple of weeks ago for a friend who was given the kit as a gift.

The half 'pi' shawl is about dry now so it's time to take it off the mat, the yoga mat could have done with being a bit wider but I think it will be ok.

Hope your day is treating you gently everyone :)

And I knew the name of the town but not that it had been rebuilt after a fire. ...

If it doesn't take a village, it definitely takes a forum!

Blandford Forum, BTW ... :)

@geefull and @Bubbsie I also used to love knitting but only small animals. I became quite good at it, self taught and enjoyed it, but havent been able to carry on with it since 2016 which was when my mother died and one of my closest friends took her own life. I cant explain how that worked but I do think sometime I will go back to it because it did give me great pleasure. @geeful your owl is beautiful.

Grandson had been down for a few days so was taking him back to Lincoln today we decided to go to the local Costa for a latte first I had a regular latte made with coconut milk not a lot of carbs about 10 gm and tasted great and as was the only carbs for the day at that time didn't spike me.

Hi there @PenguinMum An FBG of 6.7 may not be good news for you. BUT, for me, having spent three months on LCHF and hardly any booze, counting down 8.7, 8.3, 7.7, 7.5, 7.3 and now today...6.7 !!! Mary Poppins, it's a bloomin. miracle!
Of course you are right it is all relative and personal. Congrats to you..amazing progress.

Morning All. 6.0 nice and tidy this morning. Not sure yet what the weather will bring but we are off to the coast for the day for long walk, food and Rocketman hopefully. Oh here comes the sun! We have had no rain for such a long time I am hoping when the monsoons do come its not the second week in June when we are on our hols in Cornwall.
Have a great Sunday everyone especially @trick60 your only day off!
Stay well, stay safe.
How was rocketman?

I have just copied my latest blog post below... Enjoy!

Watch the numbers fall

Life could be likened to wandering a maze

With each twist and turn there are new things to gaze

Some are quite wonderful and fill you with awe

Others you may wish, that you’d never saw

Like the feeling we’ve come to another dead end

But then when we look it’s simply a bend

It may be, we have to retrace our last steps

How many times must we do all these reps?

Although moving backwards in retrograde style

Staying where you are even for a while

Is just not an option if you want to move on

A conclusion soon reached, you could say it’s forgone

As actually your progression continues each step

You might not have realised its happening yet

Maybe you missed the turning you need

Or that feeling in your gut you just did not heed

What ever the reason continue to roam

Wherever you are, your not far from home

As round the next corner a familiar sight

Will end all your doubt and fill with delight

High readings will lower

As your blood glucose decreases

And your life expectancy

Most certainly increases

Po
Brilliant, love it....
