Good morning
@SaskiaKC hope all is good in your world.
Good morning,
@PenguinMum . I hope the same for you and your girlcats. How are your eyes today?
FBG 5.8 this morning, and another hairball (not mine! I didn't do it, I was asleep!)
I am looking at a lovely '67 Corvette on the TV as I've got some car auction on Mute while I wait for the Derby. It isn't every day I get to watch racing during breakfast and I'm not only looking forward to seeing a classic but to seeing classy-looking people which I think suits racing much more than the stupid "fashions" at the Kentucky spin-off of THE Derby. Hopefully all the baby horses will come home safe and sound, no complaints lodged, no inquiries posted.
@JohnEGreen here are hugs for you for your poor arm and toe, and for the downsides of your "retreat." OTOH, Congratulations to Judith, and to you, for your newly expanded family. Hmmm ... wonder whatever became of the one Franciscan friar I met more than 30 years ago ... I wonder if he is still on this earth ...
@Debandez the KittenCat turns her nose up at grain-free canned food. What sounds like a great idea to me smells off somehow to her, and unfortunately I can't read the benefits to her (well, I
can ... )

I haven't tried grain-free dry food yet, she is happy with her indoor Cat Chow, which is oddly better for her than the senior Cat Chow.
@dogslife I am so sorry to hear about your mum's kidney infection. It seems that hospitals would be the most secure-against-infection places for our parents but so often are where the infections attack, and when they are elderly and infirm the infections just sneak in ... I hope this one will clear up very soon. I also hope you will be able to get some good rest and good nutrition so you can keep your strength up. Thank heaven for visiting relatives!
I'd planned to get up earlier this morning and go for a walk before the heat set in for the day, but I was up wide awake 'til after 2 this morning and as a result slept in 'til the alarms went off at 8:30, waking me from a dream so real I can't remember any of it!
The alarms consist of my old flip-phone, which is much more reliable about reminders than my previous stupidphone was, and the KittenCat, who woke me with loud MEOWS and then followed me into the kitchen chivvying (?) me on with MEOOOOOW! MEOOOOW! MOW! MOW!
She is the only cat I have ever heard who barks!
Lovely '67 GTO convertible onscreen now, which is cool because just the other day I was thinking of the GTO of the same vintage that a friend of my sister's had when we were in high school. We rode home in it one night from a church softball game, down an unlit, wooded road of no houses, with the radio blaring Napoleon XIV"s "They're Coming To Take Me Away" while I was all alone in the back seat. Creepy when you're only 14 ...
