Just posting about fish. When I eat fish or seafood I ger better BG results. When I holiday in Cornwall it proves the point. My problem eating fish at home is that none of the supermarket fresh fish is fresh enough for me. There is a fish merchant that sets up his stall near where I live twice a week with freshly caught fish but it is sooo expensive I just couldnt live on fish exclusively, even weekly. Their calibre was validated by meeting the late Antonio Carluccio queueing not long before his demise. He bought freh salmon to do do gravad lax and Dover Sole. We exchanged a few words. I dont dislike meat and love a steak but if I eat meat red or otherwise every day then I struggle with my bloods. So I have a 3 egg omelette (spinach or fried mushroom) or roated aubergine, tomato and small red onion drizzled in olive oil with Italian dried herbs on top 2 or 3 days a week. Just my experience and my body reaction.

B=tea - not as much as usual then swimming lessons and another tea. Swerved coffee today so happy with my common sense. NE1 salad : 3 eggs, smallish avocado and tin of mackerel in EVO . No more hot tea but cold infusion after dog walk. NE2, 2 chicken legs and salad. More protein again today, weekly weighin tomorrow only 2 days in so no conclusions. @shelley262 hope the knee heals asap so you can enjoy your walking. Big mistake wearing lightweight waterproof trousers when dog walking as heavy rain promised - how or why did I ever run in those and bin bags back in the day?

@ianpspurs hug for the stiff back but glad you didnt need Naproxen. I love the idea of your swimming lessons for “seniors”. When we had children OH and I were determined ours would learn to swim proficiently unlike us. Our children did brilliantly but when we both joined lessons we failed miserably. So dont know if you are an “Absolute Beginner” or an improver but well done you!

No haggis gluten repercussions at all (yet). Though I haven’t been testing to see the blood glucose impact. Left my kit at home (deliberately), so am flying blind. But then we are also being pretty active, and I’m not over-indulging. I’ve got a pretty goodidea of my reaction to certain foods, and have been leaving over half of the potatoes, mainly because potatoes are boring.
You can get GF haggis. McSweens & Simon Howie both make the GF version and both are readily available in most of the big supermarkets. They tend to put it beside the 'normal' haggis rather than the free from bits.
If you're referring to us natives this side of the border on a carb fest I agree. Some of the 'diets' I've overheard in the ruck at school or in supermarkets is very very scary. Second only to what some poor kiddies are eating in their buggies. Not everyone, but a sizable number.

Bed 5.7 FBG 6.5. Well have I had a day and a half from hell! Usual school run this morning, went to Tesco, picked up meds from pharmacy, put shopping away then dragged Hubby out to local garden centre. Couldn't see what I wanted so decided to nip along the A1 to B&Q. Car had been fine (think I mentioned the intermittent fault before) until I got onto the A1 then the intermittent fault became not so intermittent. Not fun in fast moving traffic. Car was jumping like a kangaroo along the A1. This time it didnt go away. Managed to nurse it to the next slip road, got off but onto another busy road and the engine failed! Thankfully 2 cars stopped and helped Hubby to push me to the safety of a superstore car park. Many phone calls later we got a lift home in an RAC van with our belongings, RAC sorted out a hire car with Motability delivered to the house then they went back to put the car on a trailer and it's now back at the dealership. I did tell them more than once it wasn't right and I was concerned it was a warning of something more serious. Guess I was right. Mum & Dad had to get home for the boys.
B. TAG with ADOC
L. Nothing - was bouncing along the road.
D. Cod loin in sesame crumb mix, green veg medley and curry tartare sauce. Hubby thought I should have a vodka as it was kind of scary when the engine started to fail but I've stuck to water.
Did have 2 bits if Lindt 90% and 1/2 a raspberry PHD bar though.
PS If you were out and about on the A1 @Brunneria and saw a red Ford hopping along the A1 with hazards on it was me! Car is just coming up to a year old too.

Okay, I've got to ask - what is a buggie? A pushchair or a word for a packed lunch?

@maglil55 how scary, what a horrible thing to happen. How on earth did you resist the vodka after that?
I agree about the small children in buggies. I’ve seen them with an adult portion of chips. A two year old with a packet of crisps isn’t uncommon either sadly.

Our main tonight was a pleasant enough steak, but in some clickery this came up. I'm sure we'll give it a whirl some time.

Having visited the nearby-ish Korean supermarket today, we also have a miscellany of kimchi and other fermented products, as well as some GF Chicaronnes. MrB also has some dried mango, which isn't the dried guava he was hoping for, but they didn;t have any of that.

B: CWC
L: olives cheese and nuts shared with a friend who came round with her bouncy labradoodle for socialisation. - I had to ask her to bring lunch as I hadn’t been able to get out to the shop. An organised person would have done an on line shop a couple of days ago.
D: Sent daughter out for dinner ingredients - chicken stir fry then a spoonful of Gk yoghurt. Quick and easy as the friend didn’t go til much later than I expected.
