Good morning everyone, I note that the carnival of clowns has been cut down to only two players, Bungle and Zippy. Must be an austerity measure.

The wheel of fake news and moving averages (like certain car owners, some folk have special names for theirs) rewarded my keen early morning dash with a 5.1. Bye the way, I don’t own a car.

My visit to Dora Dastardly the Develishly Diabolical Diabetic Dictator yesterday was, as I feared, a report of fast living and a recent bon vivant WOE resulting in an HbA1c result of 41. Wind your neck in you may well say but that’s up on last time and would in some circles (those fake interest programmes on daytime TV like Loose Women for instance) be the subject of pointless debate. Anyhow, everything else was all within NFN, sorry NHS guidelines for the average person. I thought that the average person on planet earth would be Chinese for any sort of P-value. Perhaps people are now linear rather than Gaussian but I see myself more in the Mandelbrot set. Good fortune for you visit @ianpspurs.

My mother is flying over next month and reports that her mobile phone is now kaput. I dug out the box of old phones to find one that she can use - it’s only for making phone calls - nothing fancy. I have a Nokia 8210 - a BlackBerry a couple of iPhones and a bunch of Samsungs. Best look at the batteries and try charging them up.

Have a great day everyone.

Great hba1c result - 41 normal and non diabetic range.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are following the Tory leadership campaign with no interest, monetary or otherwise.

This morning a well behaved 6.4 evicted itself from the meter, wished me and me's a good day and then disappeared. I think my meter is up to something.

Well folks elsewhere people are saying it's Friday, I wonder why?
Also on this thread there has been a bit of discussion on how to stop cats ( legally classified as rodents ) fouling lawns and drives. One of my ancestors had no problems, but he used a blunderbuss as a deterrent, only ever took one shot.
Have a spiffing day folks.
I said spiffing not spliffing.

5.8 for me this morning. Any 5 is a good 5 in my book.
@dunelm I also have a drawer full of old phones, annoyingly none of the chargers are with them - they all seem to be in different drawers. How long is it since you’ve seen your mum?
.

Oh, we met up in The Netherlands earlier this year visiting one of my brothers on his birthday. She has not though been in the UK for a while and is traveling over for another birthday - this time her younger brother.

With internet at the end of our fingers. And forums. We have found a solution ourselves. We have voices. They are getting louder. I was thinking, we could try and do something rebeliius on or around world diabetes day 14 November. Yellow jacket lines. It's only a thought at the moment (a dream!).
What a lovely thought. We are a bit like the French Resistance in WW2 but minus the weapons. But if course we do have weapons. We speak the truth about how we are dealing with T2D and what works for us. Our weapons are our words that we spread on the internet and when we talk to other people with T2D.

@ianpspurs it is such a lovely area - hope your house hunting goes well. Lanwades Hall was not only stunning but they meticulously ensured that my food was virtually zero carb. They even made me a low carb desert which was truly low carb and BS only just ventured into the low 6s after eating.

You had a brilliant fbs this morning.

Yesterday 118 grams protein (usually around 50g). A level that high always without fail spikes fbs. But this morning 4.8. So the tweaks I have recently introduced may have helped. Of course you can never be sure of anything with T2D.

We are celebrating a significant wedding anniversary today and are off to stay at the North Norfolk coast so will no doubt be continuing the higher than usual protein eating for 3 days.
Happy anniversary @Krystyna23040 and Mr K. 2 days running in places I find functional and great fbg - tweaks and maybe protein suit you. @DJC3 diabetic nurse was a tad discombobulated by my lack of love for my A1c but billed and cooed at my soft feet - what is that all about? @dunelm presumably persons become average once they reach the age of majority since teachers were frequently told there is no such thing as the average child. Hope that neck is now unwound.

Feeling very chuffed with myself having caught up on 175 messages.

As this is a fbs thread I think it might be a good idea to add some stats to my post so here goes, Monday to Friday
5.9
6.0
6.2
6.2
6.1

I'm missing the 5s. Last of my birthday celebrations last night. My Bessie told me to be ready for 5pm when she would be picking me up for my birthday surprise. Only told me what to wear and that I would need my makeup for touching up. She had secretly got my hubby to drop off my swimwear at hers. Got in the car. Bottle of prosecco and champagne glass was there to greet me! Spa journey was part of my surprise. Loved it. The evening spa journey was by candlelight. Beautiful. Very relaxing. Then I was chauffeured to a local cheese and wine bar. Crackers were involved. And half a small slice of bread. But low carb heaven in there. Then on to the casino just around the corner for a coffee. I spent £20 on the tables. Won here and lost there. Came out with £20. Win win I would say.

Today's agenda is having my beautiful granddaughter. Hubby still on jury service and gutted he missed his special day with her yesterday. The sun is shining so park day I think.

Went to my Tesco Diabetic meeting on Wednesday. One lady gave us more brilliant feedback. She has lost another 2.2kg. Her hba1c is almost normal. Her DN said that if she carries on like this she will be off meds by October. She has had a new hair style. She looks a million dollars. She feels a million dollars.

Happy Friday to all. Enjoy the weekend. Hope the sun shines for all.

Edit: ps I steered well clear of the sugar bombs on that platter!

Summer Solstice and where is our summer? I need to go to the garden centre to replenish some pots which have been battered by last week’s rain.
@gennepher good numbers today. @SaskiaKC sounds like you have a three prong plan for the KC feel sure it will be resolved as cats like to be clean.
Have a good longest day everyone. Hope you see the sun wherever you are.
Stay well, stay safe.

I hate things posting before I have added my bit...okay its me pressing the wrong button ...probably...

Thank you @PenguinMum I am glad they are going down too.

@SaskiaKC I didn’t have anything to add to the KC litter tray thing because my cats have always gone outside in my garden. I have bowls of bark chippings they have been able to use outside. That is to encourage them to do their business on my property. They have loved the bark chippings.

I did find when I moved here, I couldn’t let my cats out immediately because I needed them to know this was their new house. So this did mean cat trays. I did find they preferred the open cats trays, and not the enclosed ones with a roof. One cat even studied me on the toilet and I found her later with her paws perched on the toilet seat, and doing a number 2. Absolutely perfectly...

But she didn’t flush the toilet after...although she was good with door handles...

I have never seen any other of my other cats do that. It would be good if they did. No litter trays to clean...

So I am not much help for KC...

Weird weather here. Blue skies and got sun, then suddenly dark clouds and then freezing cold...

It is so funny - I spent 2 hours last night trying to decide what clothes to wear while we are away. This meant trying everything on in different combinations (trying everything on really did mean trying everything on from two wardrobes).
Today I have printed off my list of all the other things I need to take and it will probably take another hour to tick off everything on the list and pack.

Husband started packing 10 minutes ago - no list - and has packed everything he needs into the case and is ready to go.

I just hope he hasn't done the typical guy thing and forgotten something essential ... like his razor ...

FBG here this morning was 7.1. And 7.2 on the second try.

Whatever.

Have you seen the movie “Meet the Foc*ers” with the cat called Jinxie who uses the toilet and flushes it afterwards? Your cat could have been an actor with those skills..I always think my Bobs could have been a model bcause she is beautiful, knows it and walks like she is in heels, very minxy!

@gennepher I have read about cats who used human toilets but you are the first person I have ever actually known who knew such a cat. My older kitty used to drink out of the toilet. I have heard of dogs doing that but she was the first cat I knew who actually did it. A previous cat, Duesenberg, tried to on his first night with me ... he fell in ... was so embarrassed he slunk off and hid under the bed from the girlcats who had been watching.

Ha that reminds me of our boy Ginger ...when the boys were little I used to bath them together which was all about the play and he just wanted to be part of the fun by walking along the edge of the bath and of course once he slipped and in he went. I couldnt believe how quickly he got out cheered on by the boys. He allowed me to wrap him in a towel and then sulked for hours. He preferred to drink from the tap a habit I didnt start with my current two.

:D The Ascot cameraman was near the starting gate doing a closeup of one runner when another horse moved up even closer, between that horse and the cameraman. The commentator said, "And this is Rumble Inthejungle just moving up" -- and just then Rumble Inthejungle glanced straight into the camera with a look that said he was just itchin' for a rumble inthejungle. :D

... sadly he got lost back in the jungle today ...

Sorry for Duesenberg but, that got me giggling :)
