Morning...awful day in traffic yesterday...three hours to get to London navigating through so many police cordons & road works...endless three ways traffic controls...home around 7:30pm and broke out the millionaires shortbread...despite that a good sleep...and woke to a 6.1
You had a real need for that millionaire shortbread as reflected in a good FBG. Hope you can take it easy today without gardening or housework or much of it anyway.

Good morning everyone. A wonderful prospect for the day, sunshine, a slight breeze and it’s Windrush Day.

The carrot and stick wheel of encouragement and retribution declared a 5.5 this am.

Grandaughter is hogging the bathroom - she is going out with friends and so will be taking an absolute age rummaging through her rucksack of paints and potions - must be a teenage thing wandering around looking like Cleopatra on speed. Never mind, hopefully she will grow out of it.

Grandson is having a try out with a club higher in the league today - they say that they want him in the team so his baptism of fire is in an all day tournament. Will be over to see him in a while.

Have a great day if you can.

Bedtime bg was 6.7, and the reading this my7.2 - which basically reflects my night of ‘sleep.’
We had a good drive here yesterday through the beautiful Peak District, fabulous weather and lovely scenery. At Chesterfield I took a wrong lane (as far as I could see they were all marked A61 which didn’t tell me much as that number wasn’t on my route) so we ended up on a more scenic route for a while until we met the road to Buxton again. I’d manage to stop and re-program Jane on the Tom Tom, who rather cleverly directed us through narrow and very high roads to meet the A6 again. OH has little faith in Jane’s abilities and made worried noises most of the way. But she proved him wrong as usual.
Our friend had cooked very clever LC food for us which showed in my bg last by. Apparently she did some goggling to decide on her shopping list. Such a lovely kind person.
Sounds as though your befriending skills are as exemplary as Jane's navigational skills. I'm guessing the notion of a friend who would source and cook LC meals was not a key reason for choosing that friend but the basic trust that underpinned the friendship proved, probably once again, how right you were.

good morning all :)

4.6 for me today

it's looking sunny so far here this morning so with luck I will finally get my raking done and a bit of grass cutting, a heavy shower put paid to me getting started yesterday evening (well that's my excuse ;) )

Might even go over to mum's later and do a bit of gardening if it stays fine. We need to pick up supplies for the larder and for dinner tomorrow :)

Hope your day treats you well :)

The greatest gift to me was the advent of the computer age, it is my heaven :) My tech (in all its forms) is my window on a world I wouldn't have taken part in due to my autism, I'd be lost without it ;)

Since this is a full-on chat thread I enjoy chatting with other cat people and dog people, et al., in the context of this thread so thoughtfully started by @HarrisonK .
^. .^
And I enjoy reading these posts. I dont have a cat or dog. Had 2 cats, ginger and tabitha. Lost both in their old age sadly. Would love a dog. But time not right so I enjoy sharing your experiences. Would miss them if they were on another thread.

5.7 this morning - was 5.8 last.night so no dawn phenomenon. We are staying at the Victoria at Holkham so had a lovely walk around the grounds of Holkham Hall before breakfast.

Are relaxing in the residents lounge reading the papers, feeling a bit lazy - dogs are snoozing. Daughter and family are joining us later so no doubt we will be walking down to the beach. Things won't be quite so quiet when the grandchildren arrive.

That is such an uplifting post @HarrisonK and good for you to both recognise and grab the opportunity with both hands. I also can't help thinking that so much of the optimism and huge leap forward in managing T2 at least has been driven by IT in all its forms. Past thinking on progression and management relied on evidence from what is comparatively the Dark Ages compared to these information and analysis rich times.

Good late Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, but not politicians.

A strange 5.4 greeted me from my meter this morning, but I did object to it clog dancing in my koffy mug, strange old meter.

Well folks I have no idea what your plans are for today, Mrs J has my day planned and no room for manoeuvre.
Remember smile at a stranger, be polite to a traffic warden and if you're on a bus talk to person sitting next to you, that should scare the living daylights out of them and get you sectioned.

Definitely right. We met a long time ago ‘in the hot place’ as No 2 daughter called it. Both unemployed spouses with small children. We started an informal toddler play group together when we realised how little our children were socialising. It grew and became quite successful. The first venue etwas a church hall, but we moved when we discovered how many mice were dancing on the toys.

My calculator is peddling numbers this morning. The first number it displayed for me -- " ... and with the exchange rate: a lovely round seven!" -- I refused outright -- "not looking for any round sevens" -- and went back to the meter to try again -- this time between the two of them I got an even rounder (or at least less angular) 6.8, which I took, since they refused to go any lower.

Of course they are blaming it on MY blood -- and not their own innards ... and I'm sure my blood is blaming me for what I put into it ... something about I need a lesson in ecological eating ...

What a lovely day you are having, and still have to come.
