Hi @ert in that case you would have loved the times that some of us on here endured in the 1970's through to the 1990's with no blood tests at all simply peeing on a stick. oh happy days playing hypo/hyper roulette

I really don't know how you are still alive.
 
Its been a strange old day for me today. Since midnight last night my BG have stayed pretty much between 4--6 which for me is unheard of. had a slight blip after lunch but soon came back down.

After dinner tonight it dropped slightly below 4 and my wife had brought home a trifle, so a little treat. Had a portion, all 32 g of carbs and would take some insulin once my BG rose. It did but only to 4.3 so no need for any insulin. Even now almost 4 hours later now at a BG of 3.7. No idea what is going on, its a funny old thing being type 1:nailbiting::nailbiting:
 
I am hopeful for tech to improve where it is non invasive and accurate or have results close to finger pricks. But one can dream eh? Abbot will have someone to compete with them. :hilarious: I think Apple were talking about the watch doing non invasive testing? Not sure about the accuracy of it. I can't remember how long ago but I remember reading about it.
@ert We'd make a great team, bring those delicious crisps please.
 
I rely on my Dexcom sooo much and before it the Libre. I go nuts if I can't look at my meter, I am so attached! The alarms on the Dexcom have been really helpful as my alarms are set in tighter control so I am warned before I go out of range usually/hopefully in time to correct. So I don't leave my range very often! I am I believe a little OCD about it!

You're still very early into your T1 journey, ert. I've been doing it for 31 years now. Your views on the joys of keto may change once you start playing this game for decades, not a few years.

I started on syringes and pig Insulin too, I also know there was a beef Insulin.
 
It did take me a good couple of years to realise that insulin is no longer piggie insulin. Bio-engineering must be fun to some degree to stick dna/genes/bacteria etc together to create insulin.
