What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all sorry for the absence I have been teaching all week and no time to really post/read anything I will send hugs to those that need it and well done to everyone regardless of need as you live with diabetes and deserve a well done! Not much to report really BS's not really behaving themselves, Doomy is still ruling the roost swanning about with his swagger and intimidating the kettle! Two sets of six days in a row makes for a unhelpful fellow at the minute (and unable to train either so even more miserable) but on the Brightside...………..Its the WEEKEND!!! Rugby, Ale, Crisps, Nuts, more crisps and even more crisps!! well in actual fact work, cleaning and maybe, just maybe I might get to watch a game when I get back in from work.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.

Welcome back!

@gennepher hugs for the flu jab side effects. @OldButBold hug for waking early but like for going back to sleep - can you email me the code please. 5.2 at zero dark 15 (couldn't wait until 30) and this snippet matches my experience this morning https://www.arthritis.org/living-wi...urces/expert-q-a/gout-questions/gout-fast.php Attacks been more frequent and severe at sub 74 kgs as well but 74.4 kgs today. Enjoy your day - unless you are an SCBC supporter.

Thank you. I am not an SCBC supporter ... What does that stand for BTW? All I can think of is Southern Conference Baptist Church. A fine organization but technically I am more Anglican or Methodist...

Morning all sorry for the absence
No need to apologise john...good to have you back here...like you I shall be engaged in a weekend of cleaning and organising myself with the prospect of a trip to lovely West Bromwich on Monday...as some of you may know where the notorious 'bus gate Lane abuse' occurred.

Morning...its been an eventful week thus far but now I have to get on with things...no more excuses for neglecting the housework (not that I need one) or other jobs I have put off...much of the hedge trimmings disposed of...only another four huge sacks to get rid of...can I bear a trip to the dump on a weekend...NO...can I bear to cut the remainder...NO (because it will be raining thank god)… ooooh more coffee then to action...woke to a 6.5

Good Morning and a 5 for me today after doing everything that should have put me much higher, a long family meal last night, we do spend a lot of time around a dinner table when all together, socialising and making music until late bed at 3am up at 6 am so this was not a reading I was expecting.
Well done and congratulations @Krystyna23040
@OldButBold I hope you awake as an exemplary human.
Wish you all well this Saturday.

Sounds like an exemplary night and the bg level has picked up on the low cortisol vibes created by good company, good food and good music.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. If you don't fit into either of the preceding categories may you have a good morning also.

A well behaved 6.6 for me and me's this day.

Well folks? Well I hope you all are. Let today full of amusement and merriment.
I don't gamble, but here's a tip for the 3:30 at Ascot today, go up the pub instead.

The pharmacy tech today asked me (again) if I'd had my flu shot yet. I replied (smiling), "Not yet, not ever." I told her about my online friends getting theirs and then getting itchy all over, with water eyes, and she looked about like I've felt reading these reports of side effects.

Did I mention that I have started to dream in emoticons? I had a dream last night, and another during a nap this evening, in which every character was an emoji.

Hi @SaskiaKC

I have just woken up after another long sleep, long for me...another 4 hours. I am annoyed it's 8 am. And now daytime. Because I love watching dawn and the sunrise. So fbg at 8 am is 6.3.

I still have the fine pins and needles in extremities on the left side, but it appears to be lessening. I think it will go as soon as I move around. We are due rain in an hour, so I am eating a quick brekkie of nuts and black coffee so I can get out in the garden and get fresh air. Then I will have a second brekkie when I come in...a cooked brekkie.

That is amazing dreaming in emoticons. I love it.
You can have brilliant positive dreams now!
Don't tell anyone, but I can dream in cartoon, and black and white, and psychedelic etc. It depends what I was reading, pictures I was looking at before I went to bed. I have not heard of anyone else doing this, or speaking of it! And now you dream in emoticons :)
Hurrah!!!

Morning All. A miserable 7.0 after waking late and probs due to several spoons of peanut butter from the jar last night. Will I ever learn!
So I am taking advice from @ianpspurs interesting clip and instead of fasting I have put slice of LivLife in the toaster. @gennepher glad your sleep wasnt too interrupted and that the effects of the flu jab are lesser and lesser. @SaskiaKC love the emoticon dreams especially building sand castles and lying under the stars. Hope the shoulder pain improves pronto. Take it easy. @OldButBold you are a decent human being and I never forget Father of the Thread. Hope the chest infection is responding to the antiBs. @johnpol good to see you get the chores done and enjoy the rugby.
@DJC3 also welcome back, can I suggest putting an ipad on Santa’s list.
@HarryBeau full of admiration for the get up and go after the week you have had and gold stars for not reaching for the chocy biscuits.
Have a great Saturday everyone. Take care in the continuing rain and wind.
Stay safe, stay well.

Good morning on a day of potentials, including the promise of sunshine at some point.

The wonder wheel of early rising to the sound of miniature humans issued a 5.2 at early o’clock.

Interesting read @ianpspurs - good reason to stay hydrated and to take notice of hints and tips from body systems.

Three of our grandchildren are here, complete with one piece waterproofs and welly boots in readiness for an explore and some puddle jumping - should be fun.

We have new residents in the park in the form of some speedy cats so we will be visiting them later today.

Have a great day if you can, go puddle jumping if you feel a bit gloomy.

Oh dear PM I'm not sure I deserve that credit you've given me...I believe I mentioned some reliance on comfort food...which could have included some choccy biscuits...I just decided to get busy again getting on with life in general...arrangements in hand with the girls...we are going to Battersea mob handed on the 21st of October...Georgia & Olivia aged 10 & 9 respectively will direct operations...as for me I'll drive & do as I'm told

UPDATE EDIT
I found this: ‘A flu jab reaction tells a person that they didn't have any antibodies against the flu. The dead virus in the vaccination triggers the person’s immune system to attack the dead virus, thus making more antibodies to fight an illness.’
I have no idea if this is true or not
I really do hope that this is true. If it is I have definitely got loads of antibodies now.

6.1 this morning. Never had salesman come with wheelchair yesterday, funny how they are usually jumping to sell you something but never turned up Thursday or yesterday. Formula 1 on tv today if the internet permits. Xmas pudding is coming along just 3 triangles left to make. Then cream and holly to add.

Interesting and something to file away for possible future reference, seems you are caught between a rock and a hard place @ianpspurs yet as always positive and supportive of others, thank you.
instead of fasting I have put slice of LivLife in the toaster.
I agree PM as @ianpspurs kindly pointed out it worked for me last night.
