What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Interesting and something to file away for possible future reference, seems you are caught between a rock and a hard place @ianpspurs yet as always positive and supportive of others, thank you.

I agree PM as @ianpspurs kindly pointed out it worked for me last night.
Well in these circumstances I cant win..if I fast through to lunch my BG just keeps creeping up whereas if I have slice toast (3.8g) with thick butter (probs the key) it seems to stop it in its tracks somewhat.

Hope the chest infection is responding to the antiBs.

It is taking its time. Maybe the few days I spent dithering about whether it was there or not has given it a stronger foothold. I am able to take it easier whilst the weather is as it is, so here's hoping :)

good afternoon all :)

4.3 today

we were out early because mum was having visitors from Australia this morning, (I thought it was New Zealand but this generation moved to Aus ;) ).

Nice couple, an artist and a photographer, quite amazed to meet mum who is their grandfathers aunt and contemporary with their great grandfather.

Mum's little dog is not particularly well at the moment and so is staying with us for a couple of days whilst she gets used to the medication we hope will help. Ingenuity is definitely required, she does not like taking the tablets (understatement :hilarious:), and is pretty crafty at avoiding or getting rid of the stuff, but, she needs to take it.

Hope your day treats you well :)

Dont know if this helps but my friend puts the dog’s pill inside a truffle sized bit of pate..buys the cheapest and seems to do the trick.

You may not be managing to persuade Suzie to take her tablets but you most definitely manage your T2. Enjoy your weekend.

My sister used to hide dog pills in bits of hamburger (Andy favored burgers from one particular burger eatery) or hotdog. I met a dog this week who loves cat pill pockets as treats. My 19yo cat refused them but this dog loves them. I tucked them into bits of raw or cooked beef, or tuna, for my kitty. Some pills can be ground up in a people-pill grinder and mixed into food but some must be taken whole. I wish you success with Suzie, and I wish Suzie good health.

Good day, all. 6.2 this morning on 2nd try down from first 7.1. I'll be out of action this weekend to let my shoulder rest. It was pain-free thank goodness when I woke up but twinged a bit as I was getting breakfast. I will be reading posts but not posting after this check-in. Xxx to all and purrs, including to speedy cheetahs.

Rest your shoulder, look after the kitten cat and we'll see you soon

P.S. -- Parapetetic package made it to the right state at dawn today. Hooray! Hopefully it will stay in this state for the final leg of its journey to the right address. Next time I will request delivery by Chincoteague Pony Express! :D

@dunelm thanks for the pics of the speedy cats...they look beautiful but not to be messed with. How fast do they run..they are like the feline version of greyhounds! Hope the littlies enjoy watching them, and you of course!
According to those who seem to know this stuff:
A cheetah run speed can get up to 76 miles per hour, but they can only sustain them for over a distance of approximately 1,500 feet. Cheetahs can accelerate at an amazing rate, going from a standstill position to as fast as 68 mph in less than three seconds.

@SaskiaKC just in and catching up. Hope resting the shoulder pays dividends and you can sleep tonight. It would be good if the KC could return the favour and wait on you for a change though snuggles on the sofa will help I’m sure. Take care and we will be here with you.

Glad your package in the same state!!!!
Hope your shoulder getting better.
Take care @SaskiaKC

@PenguinMum Hugs for the peanut butter induced fbg. I completely empathise with that situation and have done the same on many occasion. I have an even worse confession though: I bought some dog’s peanut butter for Dennis’s treat mat - it cost twice as much as ordinary peanut butter but the ingredients are the same - peanuts. - yes you’ve guessed it I have resorted to a spoonful of this!

The pharmacy tech today asked me (again) if I'd had my flu shot yet. I replied (smiling), "Not yet, not ever." I told her about my online friends getting theirs and then getting itchy all over, with water eyes, and she looked about like I've felt reading these reports of side effects.

Did I mention that I have started to dream in emoticons? I had a dream last night, and another during a nap this evening, in which every character was an emoji.

Funniest post of the week award! Followed by one from @jjraak (pick one , any one, all funny!)

My bladder is on the 90 minute duty tonight....on the dot. Been up 4 times already and it is only 1:30 am. Please can I have some sleep.........

And no your honour, I didn’t have anything to drink after 6 pm...truly...

0400 and showing 8.5. On steroids and antibs so I expect it, choking cough woke me up so I'm also doing my no T2 regime of BP (120/85), peak flow (286), and pulse (93). Only one of those is any good this morning. Looks like a few rounds of Maijjong whilst my body sorts itself out.

Gave up.
Got up at 4am
Now my bladder decides it can hold its water. It just doesn’t like me lying down...
Maybe I shall try sleeping bolt upright tonight supported by pillows...
Oh fbg 6.1

Morning everyone, it's not good, it's miserable, not just the weather but madame sans merci. 9.6
I've been back in the UK a week and had expected my BG to have normalised but instead I've had 3 horrible hypos and this little shocker today.
Wondering what to do with the day ahead, too wet for gardening.

My motorcycle can do 230 miles before it needs fuel - unfortunately I have a 40 minute bladder at the best of times.
