Hi anyone help me out? I'm changing to a new computer and trying to make my bookmark bar again. The problem is, when I try to log in here, ie this site, I'm not recognised and they just want me to sign up again...some of my details are there. Try to log in and it switches to sign in
In the end I just get an error message
"Please enter a name that is at most 25 characters long"
What's this all about? Can't even find a button on here to contact the tech people on here. Sorry, frustrated. Help
I'm an idiot when it comesto computers, but I'll report your post to make sure it gets picked up by greater minds than mine :)

Sue - Could I ask which browser you are using on your machine? If you are using Chrome, I seem to recall if you sign in to your Google account on your old machine, it will have saved your settings, including your bookmark bar.

When you then open Chrome on your new machine, it should all be there?

Should that not be the issue, the two most common issues are:

Firstly, when swapping machines over, some members click on the Sign Up options, rather than log in. The following image is included, as there are a couple of places on the forum home page where you can log in.

The second most common thing is mis-remembering a password. If you think this could be the case, I can set a temporary password for you, although the results you are reporting don't suggest that's the case..

If you're still having issues, feel free to email [email protected] , and your note will be picked up, rather than be in danger of a message getting lost on a fast moving thread.

I hope that helps.

GP's first thought was arthritis (wait, what?!), but a fingerprick test for the stuff you have when having an infection turned out only slightly elevated which makes arthritis unlikely, according to the doc. Very nice single use fingerprickers they had too :)
So the verdict is 'some kind of infection' unless proved otherwise, and my punishment is a ridiculous antibiotics treatment where you take a tablet every 6 hours but you can't eat from 1 hour before until 2 hours after.
Nice one.
The leaflet says on an empty stomach and take with water, which makes me think drinking is allowed in those hours.

Left over chicken, veg and some mash from yesterday's roast (daughter had mash) her boyfriend and I had roast potatoes. so no cooking tonight:)

Thanks I use Chrome and I've tried everything you've kindly suggested including emailing which I found by using Mr Google. It should work one day

Morning chaps. At uni for a day of manual handling training. Hmmm.
Hope the training went okay. If my better half is anything to go by you’ll be sitting there now thinking....it’s just common sense.

Evening all from a damp and soggy Midlands, where I have also succumbed to putting the heating on, mostly to dry out all the damp and soggy bags and clothes which I managed to acquire in the ten minutes wait for the 5 buses to arrive almost all at once after the post-work shopping expedition. Which, as the buses are meant to be every 10 minutes, meant some poor souls got even wetter than me. Possibly ones on the first bus, which was packed to the gunwales so I was on the third bus, since the second shot past the bus stop.

I had planned to go to get some new boots, at the excellent independent little shop where I get my boots, some outdoor clothing, backpacks and travel mugs, but the weather put me off going in that direction so I pootled into the local to Main Paid Work's nearest high street to get some new walking boots insoles (interim measure until I get the boots) and to a pharmacy for some co-codamol. First pharmacy didn't have any insoles, so I didn't get the co-codamol there. Second one had the insoles, but no co-codamol. Third one had the co-codamol (hooray!) but an assistant who couldn't give change accurately, even with the till telling her what it should be.

Young Vampire really has got used to me now - apparently, our T1 related bickering, both whilst getting testing/injecting done and in the canteen area, is highly entertaining, plus, my diabetes-related Makaton is improving at a rapid rate. Not sure it's official Makaton signing, myself, but we both understand the signs we use and that's what matters.

I do admit, one of the reasons I do love working with my kind of students is the sheer ease with which they accept some things. No student has ever batted an eyelid or complained about my testing/injecting and this year's colleagues just take it all totally for granted now. I am very lucky in my workplace.

I enjoyed a taro donut in the morning, but not trying to figure out the dosing for it. But it was very good!

@Antje77 Huh. An infection sounds very weird. But hopefully you are better soon!
Thanks!
But why does it sound weird? Is infection the wrong word in English? The wrist is sore, swollen and warm, and I thought tendons and other things in your wrist got infections fairly often. So now I'm doubting if infection is the right word. Is everything ending in itis an infection or is there another word?

words ending itis means inflammation as my cat had triaditis (inflamed liver, gall bladder and intestines - trio as in 3 organs, itis inflamed ) @Antje77

@therower Peugeot 2008, small suv with a low boot lip that the dog can get into easily.

Talking of which why am I stood in the middle of a field battling the wind and the rain - dog expletive walking! That’s what!

@Antje77 Usually, when I have had a tendon, muscle, joint, swell or get sore etc it is because I aggravated something for some reason and the inflammation needs to go down. I have never heard of an infection being at the root of it's cause? It doesn't mean it's not true, it's just when I have had something hurt it's been tendonitis etc. I have never been given antibiotics, just anti inflammatories. But that doesn't mean you don't have signs of an infection or that they are being safe or that maybe it is a newer thing?

A man is coming tomorrow Tues between 8 and 12 to fit a smart meter
A man is coming the day after at 7.30am to give a quote for a loft extension. He didn't want to come later as he had work to do.
Love the work ethic

Thanks, @slip and @Marie 2 . I guess you would call this an inflammation then. In Dutch it's the same word for infection or inflammation (ontsteking).

Stupid thing is, I had the first tablet at 5PM, and by 7 it had started feeling better. Which can't be because of the antibiotics, too soon, so I may have started too quickly when my own body could handle it.
Called out of hours to ask if I could wait for another 24 hours to see how things progressed before deciding to proceed with the AB or asking my own GP, but as soon as I said 'diabetic' they wouldn't react to my questions about resisitance and stuff anymore and told me to do as my doctor had said, regardless of the changed circumstances.
I guess no one wants to burn their hands on a diabetic :grumpy:

It's still swollen and hot, but I can use my hand a lot better now and it doesn't hurt anymore when I don't use it. Google isn't very clear about the dangers of stopping antibiotics very early in the course (1 tablet in), so I'll wait and see and call my GP tomorrow.
