What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Evening all, Manic madam is totally erratic BG 7.8 this morning and rose to an astounding 10.3 after lunch dropping like a stone to 3.6 before. Apart from that, I've had a great day in the garden, done a lot and the difference can't be seen. Masses of bulbs still to plant so hoping the weather stays fine.

The Pre-Raphaelite, The Sisterhood exhibition, is well-worth a viewing, really informative and well put together. I'm considering the Tutankamun exhibition in November

I just finished a mystery novel featuring the Pre-Raphaelites, or rather, some drawings by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. The Dreaming Damozel, by Mollie Hardwick. Before, the most I knew of them was Christina's "In the Bleak Midwinter."

LONG POST ALLERT! due to forum to having the DTs! Not been able to get on for 2 days!

4.7 yesterday. Final push to finish house we are helping son do up for sale. Estate agent came to take pics today. Just sent link. It's now on the market which means only one thing, more time for social media!!! Annoying DUK. But more importantly this wonderful forum!

4.7 at 5.20am
6.5 at 7.15am

Result of a late night take eating very late. Finishing dressing sons house up for pics. Nothing in to eat at home. Kebab shop closed. Eric fancied pasta. So phoned local Italian. Meatball pasta dish for Eric. I asked for chicken stroganof. Changed it to beef as I eat lots of chicken. No rice thanks. Collected. Needed smelling salts! £17 for mine alone. Only b****y fillet steak!!! I only wanted a take away not shares in the restaurant. That said it was delicious. Creamy, garlicky and fillet steaky!

Sick to death of politics. And now we have a general election to contend with just before xmas. There is no let up!

Tomorrow I'm off to Warrington. Invited to join the Dr I helped on Saturday in Conwy, Dr McCormack. Dr David Unwin and Jen Unwin will be there. You can imagine how excited I am. Meeting is about making behaviour change effective. Attended by lots of Drs.and HCPs. Asking 2 pts questions.
Tref who has lost 7.5 stone and is an expert on intermittent fasting. And little old me!

Low carb food from 6.30. Yummy.

Then I'm doing a talk in liverpool on Thursday to a low carb group. Really looking forward to that too. I've been promised low carb truffles so I'm very excited. Apparently I may have to have a designated driver to get home due to alcohol content!

How’re you keeping?

Pretty good, thanks! I feel like throwing a party tonight. My friend has been having horrible problems with her website, and I tried all Friday afternoon to fix it, then got timed out by the web host for 3 days, and we were slowly going crazy thinking it would be lost.
Finally, tonight, she is back up and running! Yay! I feel like dancing down the hallways.

Good morning and a 5.8 today as usual expected better. Monday I did a 3 hour very Aerobic Mountain Bike ride, Tuesday MRs MC and I plus Labrador did a 8 mile ramble over hill and Dale and some rather wonderful deciduous woods, both days were less than 25 grams of carbs with small portions well under calories burnt off and yet all my readings seem to be high fives and I have put on 2 lbs, will I ever understand the mysteries of my body?

Our poor old Labrador is very stiff today, I think his days of long walks my be over poor thing. I suppose our 8 mile was two or three times that for him with the ground he covered.

@SaskiaKC I used to do a lot of web design in my IT business before retiring so I know how frustrating it can get, well done for helping your friend sort it out.

@Debandez busy, busy, busy and time to be a great ambassador, brilliant.

Hope you all have a day filled with lovely wonderful surprises.

Morning all after a small scuffle with the meter of doom, he very petulantly threw 7 at me I gratefully exited the kitchen at speed, wondering if he wanted round 2. Not much to report other than only a small leap greeted me on my return from work, Sidekick Sid must still be tired from his exertions on Sunday (don't know how he just sat in his bed all day).

Take care everyone.

the following picture is Sidekick Sid in his natural resting position every evening, morning, afternoon or whenever I'm sat down really (its the real reason I go to the gym :))

A heavy sleeper :joyful:

@OldButBold enjoy the gardening - is the chest infection now well behind you?; @Muddy Cyclist hugs for the perplexing bg and weight issues but all the fresh air and exercise must be good for you long term - all to do with wood, trees and seeing apparently. @trick60 quietly storming it for some time now young man - top work.
So today's special was 5.4 on the opinion poll of what do you think of this schmuck's effortometer. Wednesday being weigh in day left me chanting shout, shout, let it all out. May 15 I was 72.6 kgs for BMI of 21.7 today 75.7 kgs for BMI of 22.7. No calorie deficit, OMAD. improbably LC seems capable of fighting the effects of tamsulosin and finasteride but my brain is fixated on how my body used to work.

I gave a winner for your openness in sharing your experience of the effects you experience with LCHF diets. I'm also throwing a hug your way for support with the constant battle to try to overcome and succeed.

Morning...spent much of yesterday evening searching for before & after photos of me after losing weight...unfortunately the only 'large' photo I could find was me stranded several years ago when my car broke down posing with the lights of the AA truck dazzling in the background...the only full length 'smaller' me was a pose in front of an ice cream van fortunately I manged to crop most of the van out...neither of them flattering or inspiring (as Debs said they be would she is very persuasive) I looked like a much older version of Ena Sharples...good sleep...good coffee...woke to a 5.6

good morning all :)

4.4 today

yesterday we had a bright frosty morning but you couldn't see your hand in front of your face for fog when I got up this morning. That's proper late Autumn for you I suppose ;)
If it clears up later I might get a bit of tidying done in the garden then we're planning taking soup over to mum's for lunch, it's currently simmering away in the kitchen. Chicken and veg. today ;)

Hope your day treats you well :)

I'm very late to the party because of my problems with accessing the forum but I hope you'll accept my congratulations on your anniversary mr and mrs @ianpspurs

Morning All. 6.2 today so must do better. It is so nice to have a break from the rainfall and see the sun. Bulb planting today and a bit of baking Keto cheese scones. @SaskiaKC I like to think of you dancing down the hall. @Debandez you are one busy lady. Fantastic work in pursuit of Diabetes Truth and giving hope and encouragement to folk who really need it. Well done for resisting pasta. If I do a pasta bake for the family I struggle not to pick at some of cheesey bits stuck to the side of the dish.
Have a great day everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

I love him john what a trooper you are it's not easy having them on your laps is it:nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:
He's absolutely brilliant, he has to go and say hello to everyone, everyone whether they want him to or not! I like having him sat on my lap as it shows he's comfortable with us. Betty Boo, my last Bully used to lie on me too, and she was heavy after a while.

@OldButBold enjoy the gardening - is the chest infection now well behind you;

Morning Ian, my checkup on Monday had the doc saying I was clear of infection. Still have a bit of a cough but that's expected with COPD so I shall ignore it. I'm back to pondering the vagaries of FBG and why when I am on very low carb it gives me sixes but a crumpet or two will plummet me down into the early fives.
