Morning All. 6.0 at 06.00 so so. Usual Monday clear up on the agenda and some washing might fit in trip to the shops. Tons of leaves down over weekend so thats another job. @DJC3 hope you enjoy your reunion with friends. If you do the tea shop maybe you could sneak in one of the LC bars or snacks. I have heard Harrogate is lovely. Bit of a journey from you though is it possible by train?
Hope you all have a marvellous Monday. Stay well, stay safe.

I’m really looking forward to it, but you’re right it is a trek - we booked up earlier in the year when I was still based in London. I was in a bit of a panic last week when I realised I hadn’t made travel arrangements. Driving or train would take the whole day and would be expensive so I’m flying! Newquay airport (10 mins from me) to Manchester is only just over an hour and one of the girls lives fairly close so is picking me up ( we still call each other girls dispute being in our 60s - we think we look just the same as we used to) Somehow flying makes it more of a holiday.

My bg has been up in the 6s a fair bit recently and I discovered I’d put on a couple of kilos in the last month or so. The IF is just an attempt at a quick fix to bring things back into my comfort zone. I don’t think I could manage long term.
You’re doing brilliantly though - your numbers are consistently good so if it ain’t broke don’t fix it I’d say. Do you think the Libre has helped you get control?

Ah right so just a weight loss mission. The thing with me is I'm 10 stone 7 still. I dont like dipping under. But I could easily and do with lchf woe. Before the weekend scales flickered on 10 st 5! Landed on.10 st 6 so I've eaten lots over the weekend. But the most IF I've done is 18 hours. Basically just missing breaky. Find that ok. Hope you lose what you want to lose @DJC3
The libre is incredible. The gap on 2nd graph was me starting new sensor. I find it so informative and definitely how I gained tighter control. I'm not even keto. Just lc. Just so expensive though. Wont keep spending £90 a month. Too much. But I love it so much. Great for demos. Dr Unwins face lit up the other day in Warrington with all the Drs when I whipped out my mobile and said ' watch this' then showed them my estimated a1c after demo. I whip it out at every opportunity!!!

@HarryBeau sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather, hope you improve quickly. Thanks for the info re chimney sweep it's reminded me I have to get our wood burner flue swept, another thing to get organised this week. I need to make the best of our wood burner before it is banned completely even though it Deffra approved and I only burn kiln dried wood.
@DJC3 enjoy your outing, I will wave as you pass overhead on your way to Manchester.

good morning all :)

4.7 today

looks exactly the same outside this morning as it looked yesterday, gloomy and wet :sorry:
At least it isn't too cold and the wind has dropped a bit so I must get myself out for a walk today ;)

mr gee has cogitations in the direction of maybe putting up another high level shelf in the lobby between the kitchen and the back door. Our kitchen is not very big and has a big window in one wall so storage for some things is at a premium, put this together with mr gee's penchant for kitchen gadgets and...
We already have one above door height shelf in the lobby which has been very successful so now we're planning another either above the back door or to continue at the level of the cupboards in the kitchen above the passage door. Biggish stuff like the air fryer and the one pot cooker which you don't need every day can live there quite happily ;)

I shall look on it as a good reason the give the lobby a good clean :angelic:

Hope your day treats you well :)

@DJC3 that sounds the ideal way to do it. Newquay airport is great you can get in and out of it so easily. Have fun.
@ianpspurs wishing you all the best with Nursey today. We do have a very large 2 chamber leaf pen which OH is very proud of. We have to rake leaves around the paths and drive and pick up on the lawns with ride on mower. I do let them rot down in the beds but they would ruin the lawn. I am not owning up to anything about my previous life ;)

Hope the clinic goes well and you dont develop a full on cold. You had so much stress in the last week its not surprising.

good afternoon all :)

4.7 today

it's 'dreich' here today but at least it's not too cold, it is h*llish windy though, white caps and crashing waves on the sea :hilarious:

We managed our outing with mum yesterday, got her knitting wool and had lunch out all without getting wet:)

Mum is cooking dinner today and we've been promised 'a roast' ;) I'm taking 'afters', so mr gee and his mum are getting rice pudding with stewed fruit (spiced apple, pear and plums, finished with a squeeze of lime juice and a knob of butter - sweetened wth truvia so I can have a small spoonful too with my lc sponge and yoghurt ;)).

mr gee and I spent the morning trimming and hanging a new blind in the kitchen, of course that meant everything off the windowsill, shelves and draining board, clean and polish the window etc. etc. :D

Hope your day is treating you well :)
All sounds lovely I love the sea whatever the weather :-) and as for the dinner that sounds lush .

Thanks PM it's just a little sniffle...although I am now double stressed I have given in & updated my iPhone it's expected to arrive Wednesday... I am not an iPhone lover & not technologically savvy...so I shall be relying on the expertise of my neighbour when it does find its way here...my neighbour Olivia is aged 9 and an expert:)

4.7 this morning and I’m packing for a couple of days in Harrogate with some old friends. 4 of us shared a flat together when we first went to college back in the 70s. We have a city break together once a year to catch up on each others lives and let our hair down. I know they all want to go to Betty’s tea rooms while we are there, haven’t decided how I’ll approach that minefield yet. I don’t want to be a killjoy and I’m quite happy to sit with a coffee while they have cake but I don’t want to make them feel awkward about it. We’ll see.
Have a great week.
Betty’s does a great cooked breakfast if you get in during the morning. Salads are also quite nice. If you are planning to eat out, search out The Tannin Level, went earlier in the year and managed to find nice things to have https://tanninlevel.co.uk/menus/

5 this morning I want to put that number up in lights lol that's the first ever FBG 5 since I have been testing . It was 4.8 before bed was expecting a rise to at least 6 since it appears that I sleep walk to snack from the fridge during the night lol

Just a quick post before dashing off to work. 6.5 this morning so is starting to drop down. I actually feel much better on 20g carbs rather than higher carbs. It feels like I have more energy.

Today a much better work day. A 4 hour break before starting back to work late afternoon. Will have lunch out then walk to the garden centre. Less work generates less admin. The mbps thingys are running at 1.06 this morning. A neighbour says the problem is a severed cable. If it is hopefully it will be sorted soon.

Good morning from the delusional steering committee of the dismal and unrelentingly grey of a day not quite called Monday, dies lunae, but no moon to be seen due to a 404 error or just loss of signal.

The wonder wheel of close encounters and narrow escapes (with food choices - don’t get overly excited) was 5.6 this am.

Things you find when you are bored and confined to barracks for having the audacity of being a bit under the weather; Can cat’s be both solid and liquid at the same time? According to Marc-Antoine Fardin they are. He won the Ig Nobel Prize for it ( a parody of the Nobel Prize that honors research that “makes people laugh, then think.”) Strangely, I don’t thing that Schrodinger nor Pavlov would have agreed - mind you, I think that they both hated animals.

Have a great day if you can, see how many containers your cat fits perfectly into if you can’t.

I don’t know what mbps thingys may be but they sound impressively quick

Its the first they had free MC...I booked it three weeks ago I need to be more organised next year.
Me too on the organisation front, not living up to my signature box motto I'm afraid

@Krystyna23040 I am the same regarding carbs 20 grams seems to be my optimum limit per day. However I do not enjoy lots of high protein meals so between a rock and a hard place, but heyho that's the way it has to be so lots of nuts and too much snacking for moi.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, me and me's have been AWOL just recently, lots of reasons.

Anyway ( which way but loose ) today's reading from my new meter was a flax seed cracker and cheese induced 7.7, low carb high fat cheese I can't handle high fat and cheese is a weakness.

The new meter, a tale to tell, I did warn the the old one, but to no avail.

Well folks I do have a penchant for writing about Mrs J and how the evil fire breathing woman rules me and me's life, also scares the living daylights out of my friends chaos and mayhem. Well she finally shown her caring side, Mrs J has been ill and fluey just recently and decided to share the germs with me. So thoughtful of her.

I hope you all have a good day, please avoid me and me's you don't want these germs.

I think I know a couple of forum members who may be able to help with the lights.:)

Well done.
