Yuk I hate the paperwork gennepher...I procrastinated like mad the last week or so but finally got mine finished yesterday.Paperwork calls now so a black coffee or two or three and get it done.....
Me and hubby did. Enjoyed every second although so sad in many parts, including James's song. He himself was emotional singing it. He was feeling every single word. It was so well put together the whole show. Wonderful.Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend, the meter of doom must have been taking pity on me as all weekend its only thrown 6's at me which was nice. I have been feeling out of sorts over the weekend can't explain it, bed early on Sunday (I love's my bed) did any of you get to watch The Royal British legion remembrance programme on Saturday evening on the BBC? James Blunt's song was a powerful piece of song writing. amazing programme to watch. Anyway have a good day and importantly take care everyone.
Nothing's off thread on here. That's the beauty of it. Your post took me back to Tours. Magical memories made in my beloved France. Thank you. What a forum! Another forgotten piece of information dragged from the dark dungeon and deeper corners of my mind. I have spent a lot of time in Tours,. This year when we visited we popped into Basilica of St. Martin not that impressive IMO and I had not realised it's significance to St Martin of Tours, thank you for the post, I shall now be more attentive on my next visit.
We enjoy the Musée du Compagnonnage in Tours, a crafts man or journey man museum, excellent.
Sorry post a bit off thread, just @ianpspurs post conjured up memories.
@Cumberland just found your post, very sad please stick around we need all the support, experience and knowledge we can get on here.
Off for a Muddy Bike Ride as suns appeared.
A nice weekend of almost doing nothing at all...or sweet football association as it's sometimes called..
(if you don't count the on going diy/redecorating)
and a little wobble this weekend as i went off piste on the food front, wasn't as calamitous as i had expected, low 6's most mornings and today 5.7 puts me back in the zone of Love.
Sorry to those who lacked sleep, i fear i may have stolen some of your slumber time, again a late rise circa 11 am.
And on the dreams front, not normally something i really remember or that troubles me. , but last nights seemed to be two quite vivid dreams..i wonder if it is the moon phases or something..?
Sorry to hear all the tales of rain, last few days been rather pleasant here i the Sunny capital.
heart does go out to those suffering the flooding, can't think of a more miserable time, then being wet and cold as all that goes on around you.
Another here saddened by the tale of @Cumberland
Does seem to be an illness that so many can't seem to keep it civil when someone else doesn't agree with THEIR world view and 3 mates off facebook, think @ianpspurs got that spot on in his post,
but @HarryBeau & @gennepher nail it for me.
@Cumberland, T1, T2, etc, doesn't matter, as @Muddy Cyclist , so eloquently puts it, we NEED those who do have the experience, and capability to make sense of this disease to keep us all that little bit calmer, when seas are choppy..
if not by information & links, then by examples...and you sir, have been a shining one.
A little poem ..

Christmas, the time of mass panic among so many normally sensible people, dear god.
they say confession is good for the soul, so here goes.
I'm a Christmas Grinch...

there said it, so ya know.
Hope all who look forward to it, enjoy the build up and the day immensely.
Me, i start putting up the Christmas shutters, around this time, carry earplugs to drown out the oh so endless pappy "season of goodwill' dross they play in all the stores, over and over and over again...:***:
AND liking the easing of Christmas @Freema (nice to see you back, btw)![]()
we discovered a good while back that stepping back was more beneficial for us in many ways.
Stepping away from Xmas overload so many suffer, we now carry through it serenely, rolling our eyes at those who momentarily enter a distorted dimension where E-v-e-r-y- single thing HAS to be done to nth degree![]()
I defend those who want to celebrate it. so i'll still be raising a toast to you all come Xmas day, by charging my glass...
......From a beach in Vietnam...![]()
Only popped out for a Muddy Bike ride, then lunch with Mrs MC and a sunny afternoon walk and the forum moved on like an express train, Christmas! We've only just had bonfire night and leaves are still on the trees. Mind you I do love Christmas all that time with family and friends plus numerous gigs with the folk band, choir and recorder quartet.
Good news @OldButBold and @HarryBeau
@SaskiaKC you have nothing to be embarrassed about, frustrating as it is our pet Draculas love to shock us now and again, are you like me? Refuse to believe it, wash hands, test again, try other fingers, waste strips and all to no avail as the result is still annoyingly the same. We've all been there I'm sure and it's the forum support that gets us through.
Mind you today I was very very embarrassed. I went my muddy bike ride and it was extremely muddy and decided on the way back to pop into the health centre to find out why they had not called me for my HbA1c test which was due in October. I locked up my bike, removed my helmet and rushed into the building, there was a line of 4 people waiting and behind the desk 5 members of the health staff were standing seemingly doing nothing to reduce the line of patients. So I asked a man in front of me why no one was being seen to, he said "I have no idea it's always the same they are dead slow" at which point the health centre manager said very crossly "we are trying to have 2 minutes silence" now that's embarrassment, I felt awful.
Oh and as for BG reading after 0 carb breakfast and 2 hour bike ride 6.1 and after 0 carb lunch 6.3 now and before evening meal, why?

Bargain. Just a note to all that if insurance bought through compare the market you can get tickets for odeon Tuesday Wednesday 2 for 1 so works out at £2.50 each. Even the cheapest insurance (weeks holiday) should do it. Sharing the love.Morning all. 5.0 for me after having only a crusted cheese omelette to eat yesterday.
Went to see The Good Liar at the cinema (Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen ) quite enjoyable, both fine actors. All tickets £5 on Mondays so we’ll worth it.
@gennepher I am also swigging back the coffee trying to keep out the cold and steeling myself to take Dennis out for his morning constitutional. It’s still raining hard.
You've just reminded me I have some bella Italia vouchers to use up (from Tesco clubcard). Thanks re the choccy recommendation. My fave at mo is tesco no sugar 90% with stevia. Dreamy!5.0 this morning. n
Had a lovely day yesterday just one class in the morning and a 6 hour break to go to hairdressers and walk around the shops before evening classes. Walked an amazing 18K steps.
Forgot to take my little bar of 85% chocolate to have for lunch so went in search of Hotel Chocolate but couldn't find it in the shopping mall. Was beginning to go a bit low so ended up in M&S and bought a bar of their 100%. I tried a square and really really liked it - so went back and bought 5 more as I won't be there again until mid December.
Dinner at Bella Italia was superb - Sea Bass and salad.
I am doing a good job of procrastinating @HarryBeauYuk I hate the paperwork gennepher...I procrastinated like mad the last week or so but finally got mine finished yesterday.
