What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning… coffee tasting good despite having to leave my warm bed earlier than I would like...but busy day... first off back to Wood Green Animal Centre for the Kittens check up fingers crossed...then supermarket to load up with more food for them they have such appetites... the cupboard was crammed but now almost empty apart from a large supply of (premium) dry kitten food they refuse to eat...taking that with us I'm sure Wood Green could use it...a friend popped in last night with a new gin I've never tried before at least I think it's new Mare...several glasses later I've decided I will have to invest in my own bottle...considering the gin I feel relieved to wake to a 6.3

Yawn.... Morning.. Yawn.

Awake far too early earlier, just tested and I think my BG's like the open space here in McGarrett Plains, as I got a rather pleasing 5.6

No tea, just.. Yawn.. Off back ..yawn. . So sorry. to bed.. I'll leave you guys to carry on chatting

Oh and @Muddy Cyclist , I know you will but can you just ask the guys to keep the noise down just a little bit more.... Thanks

Yawn. Night

Sleep well on those pleasing plains. More progress on the scourge o'meter. Good man yourself.

Mg/do converter
HBA1c converter

At 6.3, I think that puts you into pre diabetic zone.
Not too shabby, as you say, if I recall it's not only T2 you are trying to balance

I'm sorry. I only just now saw the rest of your post.
Thank you. You're right, I'm trying to balance T2 with BP and LDL and lbs/kg. :)
I also just remembered -- since posting my numbers -- that they are the result of non-fasting blood work because I hadn't been told it was supposed to be fasting blood work. I told the lab tech to adjust for sausages and coffee ...

As I understand it, @SaskiaKC
They changed the way it's presented.

So a 6.4% would be equal to 47 in UK mmol.

The part that gets hard to remember is the MMOL for HBA1c...Is NOT the same as the everyday MMOL we use for the finger pricking
I know, confusing huh.:wacky:

So for THAT..Americans report it as
126 mg/dl
And in the UK, that would be 7.0 mmol

If you scroll down those links, I think it shows THOSE examples a little better.

I would also caution, that for all the disappointment, and I think we have all been there, with our own figures at some point.
Where a ***, .. And maybe even a WHY do I bother..:banghead:

EVERYTHING WE DO
Had kept us at a far healthier level then if we simply went with the flow, and ate as instructed.

EVERY Day, we post in range, is a day further away from the complications that MIGHT begin to start making any inroads on our health.

And I Celebrate each of THOSE days as a Victory.

One over on the beast lurking within.

We may never beat it, but by God, we are NOT going quietly, WITHOUT a **** good fight.

Thank you. :)
I hope you had a good lie-in this morning.

Fbg 7.6
At 4 am
Why higher? It could be because I had a small tin of fruit early evening. I had double cream with it. Because I have Sjögren's my mouth and throat are always dry, and I was fed up with the gel meds and sucking sweet meds etc I have. Tinned fruit does help (the speech and language therapist told me to eat tinned fruit to help my dry mouth and throat), but doesn't help my diabetes. With hindsight I could have had half the tin or even a third....but I didn't, I had the whole small tin, and enjoyed it and I didn't have to take my dry mouth meds in the night. But I have a higher fbg reading this morning...

Note to self... one third of the tin next time.

Okay, so my painting for this morning...
I squished blue acrylic paint on the A4 paper this morning. It looked like deep sea, so I got a white gel pen and squiggled the white of the waves.
But turn the pic sideways and you have wonky giraffe necks...

Not sure about this one. And it was hard work on my eyes with the concentration. My eyes need a rest now....

Have a good Sunday...
Take care
Some hugs in the basket should you need some.

Good Morning, awoke to the gentle playing of Good Morning Sunshine, not yet found out who woke me from my blissful sleep, no breakfast for them! So after not enough sleep, far too much wine and very early (3 am) snacks of fig and feta tart, cheese and a small piece of cake, yes I know I have fallen off the wagon, Dracula gives me a 4.8.

@ianpspurs your theory looks good, there is more to controlling T2D than just diet and exercise.

@jjraak volume now turned down, chill out in your lovely place. Like your sensible explanation on BG levels in answer to @SaskiaKC so well put.

@SaskiaKC we don't know any Welsh Music that I know to. Must look at some before September when we shall be a a Welsh Folk festival for a weekend, would be good to play some then.

I need Coffee. So have a wonderful day one and all.

And legs. I really like that effect. :) I also like that it looks like tide lines on the beach.

What kind of tinned fruit do you eat? I love tinned fruit, especially fruit cocktail and peaches (can't eat it anymore :( ).

I was thinking of those tide lines on the beach as I did it.

fruit...tinned peaches and also tinned mandarins

Good morning/evening folks, a 5.3 on the dice, lord only knows how or why, the wagon I fell off is disappearing over the horizon. Still as I am in Yeats country I shall continue to rage against the dying of the light, and flag another wagon down on Monday.
Have a lovely day all.

Morning All. 6.5 at 07.00 was out for Indian meal 2 hours later was 6.8 3 hours later was 5.8 so relieved went to bed. So DP is still a real problem. The only glint of possibility is I havent been sleeping well too often and last night was no exception. The friend we were out with last night had a “funny turn” just as the meal ended and (because she has epilipsy though no fit for 10 years and well medicated) we had to immediately leave and get some air. After about 15 minutes she improved enough to be escorted by the men to the car. It was quite scary. They got home ok and got her tucked up in bed feeling better.
@gennepher that made me think of a Cornish beach at night so thank you. @Muddy Cyclist sounds like an excellent night and glad your fbg was so good. Likewise @ianpspurs glad your Nurns night with the bairns was so enjoyable. Likewise @HarryBeau a good evening, have heard of Mare gin but never had it. When you leave WG shelter remember to check for stowaways! @SaskiaKC I think you should be very pleased with your A1c while juggling so many balls in the air. @jjraak sweet dreams are made of this.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

Good morning from a bright and shiny dawning in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of mirth and merriment discharged a small yet lively 4.4 this a.m.

No haggis last night, nor neeps nor tatties. Confit Duck was dish of the day. I do enjoy the traditional Burns night fare but it would give my blood sugars such a merry dance, not a peasant sight. Scotch on the other hand... So, not much of a “Fair fa' your honest, sonsie face” at the dinner table last night but did manage a “Here’s a bottle and an honest man –
What would ye wish for mair, man.”

Morning all, what a nice relaxing Sunday bunch of posts. @SaskiaKC good on you for your HbA1c when there has been so much else to cope with.
@HarryBeau I hope all goes well with C&L at Wood Green today, I wonder if they’ll remember the place?
@PenguinMum hugs for the fbg but your explanation sounds quite likely. Sorry about the scare with your friend last night.
@ianpspurs I completely agree with your idea on bg results - there’s a lot more going on than we’ll probably ever know but I’m glad you and Julie found that contentment yesterday. Shame about the walnut liqueur though.
@gennepher I love today’s picture, I could look at it for hours.
@Muddy Cyclist I Hope you have a nice relaxing day after last night’s festivities, sounds like a wonderful evening.
Nearly forgot fbg was 4.9 (1/2 bottle of red to thank for that I expect) I put a new Libre on yesterday and this morning fbg was 6.1 according to that! This time it appears to be reading a good 1 mmol higher, last time it was around 1 mmol lower. Oh well, I’ll just look for trends and ignore the numbers I think.

When you leave WG shelter remember to check for stowaways!
We're back now & all A1 with Charlie & Lola they were surprised how much they'd grown...as we left the cat food at the cat centre I saw the most gorgeous long haired black cat walking in the yard we'd seen him when we collected the kittens...he wasn't available for rehoming then he was quite unwell...they told me he is going to his new home today so positive news all round.

I hope all goes well with C&L at Wood Green today, I wonder if they’ll remember the place?
They were so well behaved in their basket...got an excellent report from the vet & obviously all that treatment they have been through meant they were quite familiar with the procedure...home now fed & they're off for a little snooze
