Morning All. 6.2 so still looking down on the Plains. Mr Fuzz calling for breakfast, I wonder if he spent the night in the potting shed. I wonder how long he plans to stay.
Got some good news yesterday about the health of a friend. Liking the bright early mornings and extending evenings. Its nice to have some positives amidst all the doom and gloom. My only plans for today are deep cleaning bathrooms, making some LC cheese scones and if a window of opportunity a bit of weeding.
Have a great Tuesday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

5.6 today a bit stressed as I am gearing myself up to my annual eye screening and review tomorrow. This is my subsequent one since diagnosis. Would be surprised if all was not well, but I've just looked at the website to remind myself what to expect and they mention recent blood results, I'm on annual review at my surgery so my next HbA1c is not due until end of July/August so I only have my meter readings, these are ok, but maybe not too accurate, show an average of 5.5 for the last month. I guess I will need to ring up to see if it is worth going. Pretty sure they will have something to say about my high cholesterol readings but tough. Anyone know if I will see a dietician again like I did on my initial screening? Last time it was a script kiddie who couldn't think outside of her narrow Eatwell guidelines, I found her neither use nor ornament. Not looking forward to this. Don't know why I get stressed what can they do to me.....
Not surprised that you are stressed - hope all goes well today.

Morning Low Carbians one and all. A breathtakingly poor 6.3 on the amuse neither bouche nor anything else ometer this very day. One does so love the feeling that one is having one's pud ever so gently pulled by all this. Lovely young gal from the midwest did opine that I had the wrong corvid around my neck as I danced au narturel around the tree on my front lawn at midnight. Nay, quoth I, forsooth The Fungster is adamant and the goodly Dr Unwin specified not what sub species was required. Please don't tell my friends I bought the D**** M***. dear reader. Must dash, bone broth won't transform itself into fake news without the correct incantation, or indeed with it, but those Hemsley gals are quite fetching:angelic:

Shopping yesterday only sign of panic buying was a shortage of some brands of anti- bac wipes and cleaners. Although I didn't look for hand gel.
Still don't understand why the mass purchase of loo rolls?
@Ryhia am sure you will be fine, as they still say sometimes. Dont Panic. By tonight it will be over and you will wonder why you were so worried.
@gennepher That panic buying is awful. Are you in an at risk area?
@Muddy Cyclist love the blossom against the dark clouds.
And so to work. MrSlim wants me to prime the walls in the stairwell to the attic. I want to final coat the bathroom ceiling and second coat the walls. Need to finish something or will get overwhelmed at amount still to be me done.
Also need to deep clean (Thank you for that phrase @PenguinMum ) the living room, because cleaning has been neglected and it's really noticeably dirty now. Layers of dust on everything. Besides which our neighbours have returned after three months in UK and might drop in...
Yesterday painting was neglected in favour of domestic duties. Kitchen is now as clean and tidy as possible, while it is still doing double duty as building material storage. Bathroom sparkling. Had not realised how much the dirt was getting me down until now.
Was planning to go to local market this morning, looking for vegetable plants, but realised I need some prepared ground to put them in. Maybe next week?
MrSlim is still significantly impaired, but will no doubt try to press on.
And so to work....

Edited to add.
Decided that the wrong shade of white trumps my need to get something finished. Now slapping it on all over the biggest bedroom as a base coat.

anyone else think it was a good idea, with the 'Escape from Italy' disaster movie playing out on the news the other night, to just allow flights to come back and not be screening passengers..If i didn't know better ...
Oh no - I can't believe that this is happening. A recipe for disaster.

A few points worth bearing in mind. There is always the possibility that we could be completely wrong and closing one's mind to that is dangerous. Secondly, there won't be the volume of evidence for the effectiveness of LC over the long term until more people have lived this way for decades. Thirdly, this is very N=1. It is your life, your body and if it works for you and you have satisfied yourself there are no damaging side effects carry on. This comes from one who is highly sceptical of LC but has an open mind.

Good morning from a potentially exciting pre-international bin extravaganza from the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of excitement and anticipation of the first of this years participation of the green garden bin came in at a flat 5.0 this am.

I have been looking at doing a homeopathic diet but a local supplier has just been prosecuted by local health officials when it was discovered that the homeopathic double cheeseburger only contained sub-atomic traces of a single patty. The one in several billion to 1 chance investigation was triggered when local GP surgeries reported an increase in patients suffering from the placebo effects of singing Frank Sinatra songs and complaining about Crooner Virus. If you have been disturbed by any words contained in this paragraph then please ring 111 - you will need a good supply of tea and a comfy chair. Makes sure that it is not homeopathic tea as it can easily be mistaken for homeopathic koffy or contain nuts.

Some decent points ..

And yet you are here. Because of that open mind... As am I... And many others

But how many others, NOT as open to the possibilities of an alternative. OR able to do so
are we now condemned to a life of complications, with little hope.?.

Am reminded this is mainly an older person disease
I doubt you or I consider ourselves old, more
Like a good pair of shoes, or a classic car, we are just well worn/run in.

Yet I know more then a few that do that. " Ooh trchnology:***: " thing when I try explaining a gadget or benefits of a mobile app :yuck:

So many will now not be made aware
And one again that will be official policy for many.

I Find it hard how they can not see the incoming storm and a clear and visible place of shelter for those who wish it....sad

Official govt policy.
No point as it's not 100% effective
Was in bojos conference briefing yesterday
I think

Everything in a timely order.. We are not to panic until we hit the iceberg.. Which makes sense.
Gives us more time to rearrange the deckchairs. Which is nice

*Panic. A time of confused thinking, where rash decisions are made without a proper thought process.... Sometimes confused with
Pre planning.
The art of seeing danger, and reacting accordingly while able to do so effectively.

Both look similar to those unacquainted with either condition.

It used to be however more & more children & young adults are being diagnosed with T2...the study was a govt. commissioned study DUK selected the participants therefore from my point of view it was another study set up to fail...there is an opportunity to respond to the report however in view of DUK's 'strangle hold' on T2 dietary advice hopefully efforts will be concentrated elsewhere....our HCP's are responsible for supporting the eatwell advice & referring T2's to DUK that's where our efforts should be concentrated...there are more & more progressive GP's & DSN's taking a lead so I am still cautiously hopeful.
