What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Very worrying and frightening @Muddy Cyclist
Could your wife write to her mother. Would that be allowed?
I wrote to my mother, ( I knew her as my aunt and wasn't aware she was my mother until she had died ) (I lived a very long distance away) even though she had dementia (she always had one brief moment of delighted recognition of me when I visited), and apparently welcomed my letters. The staff read them to her. I had bought her a beautiful fountain pen and some cards and stamps. After the staff read my letter, it was only very short, my mother began a reply, Just Dear...then my name, then it degenerated into a scrawl of no sense, but I treasured them.
Is there something like this you could do?
It is so sad. I feel for you and your wife. Hugs.

Thanks for the suggestions and kind words.

We have had another message asking if we would like to contacted on whatsapp each day, not sure how and what and how this will work but at least they are trying to make it less painful for everyone.

I can feel your frustration and it is entirely understandable. However I strongly believe you are safer from this being in your own place without sharing facilities, doors, etc with other people. Like JJ said the chance to move will still come and the most important thing is you stay safe and well. Hugs to you and the KC.

Thank you. :) Hugs to you and your girlcats.
I will say the KittenCat is handling all this very well indeed. ^. .^

You would be able to send photos etc via WhatsApp @Muddy Cyclist
I use it a lot for individual people, and for groups as well.

Okay. I said I would do a drawing of the apocalypse using my drawing apps. But I haven't used these for a few years. They are on the iPad, and they were prior iOS 13, so some won't work now. So I am frustrated. And I have forgotten so much. Here is my first attempt. It's not good enough for me. You can use these silhouettes as well as draw using the various tools and strokes, place them, can alter dimensions and orientation etc. And more stuff.

Back in a bit if I manage another one.
I had created some of my own designs of silhouettes within this app a few years ago.

Back in a bit.

P.S. I do agree with you about the shared facilities, the more so because "they" have got travelers so paranoid already about the possibility of getting bed bugs from hotels ... :banghead:

It reminds me of the Counter-Reformation, people like Teresa of Avila saying Keep the masses illiterate and ignorant and then we can make them believe anything we want to -- only now it seems more like Keep the masses Informed and then we can make them so afraid we can control every move they make.

All this ... and I haven't even been out for a walk yet ... seems safer in my own little home ... I hate this.

Ooh eek, @gennepher I can't even look at that! Too many creepy-crawlies!

Clown on BBC news just said "to self isolate stay 2 metres away from others in the house. That might mean sleeping in a separate bed." Might? Who has a bed wider than 2 metres?

If a vaccine is developed for the coronavirus, a law will probably be passed requiring all humans to be vaccinated and to wear, as proof, a collar with a license tag. Otherwise we will not be permitted to leave our homes (since, like cats, humans don't have to be walked), or into public places without our collars and tags prominently displayed.

I do find the publication of this article somewhat comforting:

Can we make it 9?

Second attempt. Doing this between 3 different apps. I think the picture is a bit too clean.
Anyway here it is...

I am sad my own silhouettes are not saved in the app any more, and there appears to be no provision to make your own silhouettes any more....
Bed now. I am tired. Try again tomorrow...
Have a good evening...

Considering how so many families are crammed into small houses this is just stupid.

I read at least one article that says, If some member of your household does have the virus, that person should use a separate toilet/bathroom from the others in the household. So what about houses that have only one toilet/bathroom?
That's about as sensible as telling people over 60 to stock up on groceries for about a month -- many of us don't have money for that many groceries this early in the month, or that much pantry space.

I've also read several articles on health care sites that say stop buying masks, they won't protect you and the health care workers -- who know how to use them -- need them. If you have the virus, wear one to protect others (but you shouldn't be out with others if you're sick anyway) but they won't keep germs OUT ...

Plus, now I read that I have to keep my cat mentally stimulated for her health -- a different toy every time, a different game every day, instead of putting her food in one dish hide bits of it around the house so she can hunt it ...
So now I have a mentally stimulated cat AND cockroaches and ants?
Maybe I need one of @gennepher's creepy-crawlies pics after all, only I still can't look at them! Although the plane approaching Tower Bridge did give me suitably gruesome shivers ... :)

7 30am FBG 7.9 thats extremely high for me. Last nights overindulgence in chocolate to blame for that. Or is it just a lack of willpower? The chocolate doesn't have a label saying "eat me"
Waited 30 mins retest.
FBG now 6.9. Yippee dropping fast.
Except 30 mins later was on the rise again @ 7.2. So I had breakfast, CWC and nut granola.

Maybe it's time I read Defoe? I never could get into Robinson Crusoe ... maybe A Journal of the Plague Year ...

Had a call to day from MILs nursing home, no more visits allowed until End of April when it will be reviewed. We understand but like Mrs MC says she may never see her mom again, lots of families in the same situation, hard times.

One of our band members has decided to lock himself away as his wife is high risk and very frightened, I can't blame them under their circumstance, although I am not sure how they will manage.

Sympathies to you all @Muddy Cyclist. This is my concern too. So far mum's nursing home have introduced extra precautions such as requiring all visitors to wash hands in a designated area before entering the main part of the building and isolating and monitoring individual residents in their rooms if they have any unusual symptoms of any kind but I don't think it will be long before they will stop visits as there are so many vulnerable residents. Hard times indeed.:(

The regime is a hard one, indeed.

I guess from the back end, how would folks feel If god forbid there was a spread and they had just let anyone in who rocked up
we had only immediate family, which was fine.

Not seen at any home but have seen in hospitals where it seems to be a Day out for all the family, visits to auntie in hospital with the kids in tow, who are just sat kicking the bottom of the chairs in utter boredom after being told off for running around and touching almost everything in sight..:banghead:

not everyone is considerate or even thinking as to what is or isn't appropriate,. but liking the observed hand wash idea.
do remember many still have their heads in the sand over this , who will ignore all the advice and put others at risk, just because...

as said while very hard, MAYBE it IS the best thing to do in the circumstances, but there again i am not the one in that position.
Hugs to all affected by this.

in respect of that i think we have to be thoughtful of what 'sick' will be to many.
a running nose or a sore throat ?
here is a chart for the symptoms of a few plus Covid

i don't want those sick out and about either, if genuinely ill,
but until they get the real symptoms or several, then we have to expect many will be out and about as normal.
Now THOSE people, i would like to see masked up, as that to my mind is the best use of one..

THEN if symptoms persist or grow, to self isolate.

The idea that anyone will self isolate at the first runny nose defeats this, because much as the idea for many that a 7 day rest
(uk designated time ) will be a walk in the park, the impact on work, family life (avoiding other family members in close proximity) will not be practical, particularly if it happens every other week, as is likely if we get too strict with ourselves...this won't be over by next weekend this has months if not longer to run, sadly.

there is a tweet doing the rounds about a respiratory tract infection check is to hold your breathe
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/taiwan-experts-self-check/

not true ..
but if we get a cold our breathing will be harder as our lungs clog up hence the phlegm,
but you would know once you got the cold, so perhaps we should all be a little bit more aware of our
health each morning and just take a moment to self check, to catch anything earlier then we normally would .

I did see an interesting post that might help change attitudes and prevent one or two more vulnerable
getting the worst of this.
it was along the lines of.
"Don't think... i DON'T have covid so how do i avoid it
Think ..I DO have covid, so how do i avoid spreading it"
A subtle difference, and one that does make you think, where do MY hands go on a daily basis.

Big take away from another post, while i am here, is that paracetamol, to reduce the fever, perhaps isn't the best idea, especially not straight away.
