all good in the hood.

sad to see that some conversations now seems to be inappropriate .
have to be honest unsure what are now acceptable topics
covid ?
govt ?
the news
the missing 5 cobra meeting

A good few others FBG type threads out there, that just want numbers etc, and limited chat.
So lots of choice for those a little way of those of us discussing important issues .

Be so sad to lose the most popular thread on the forum
and the only one with FBG and the current topic of the day
in fact the ONLY topic of the day for the last few momths

i'l try and take others lead here, until we see what is acceptable
be sorry to leave the thread.
did feel as T2D is a clear risk factor, discussion of it during the current crisis, would be important to us.

i personally am always grateful when others who have much more interests/time
post up on subjects that could affect me as a T2D..

the excellent threads from those advocating keto/lchf all while refuting the govt line.
so dissent is possible and pretty much the reason for the entire forum,
otherwise we would all be on DUK , enjoying the eat well breakfast....:***:

Be sad to think we may possibly no longer dispute what the govt tell us is true,
or react to it.

anyone creating a thread, where we discussed, fbg our Diabetes and anything that affects us
as diabetics in an open and adult way, i'd be most interested.

But until then, I'm with @HarryBeau
Not going anywhere.

@Muddy Cyclist
Great post.. Good spirit.

So I am doing whats right for me. I understand others are happy to discuss anything and everything on here. Its not for me at the moment.
Its a full on chat forum Deborah it is to discuss what's on our minds what concerns us not just light hearted fun stuff...we have plenty of that but we also need to discuss serious issues when needed...support comes in all forms whether funny light hearted serious or robust...so your decision would seem to be the right course of action for you at this time...the thread will still be here should you change your mind and I have no doubt you will be welcomed back with open arms.

Afternoon all. Those of a pet fanatic and no sense of humour nature please, please read no further. I really don't want to cause offence.

Subject: Dangerous Pets

If you have a dangerous pet or pets, in these days of food shortages, no toilet rolls, antibacterial soap and flour, please consider donating your dangerous descendants of velociraptors to the local food banks, remember they are a good source of protein, good in blood sugar control.

And isn't that what so many are doing @Krystyna23040
Limiting the risks etc washing hands more, less travel less traffic ... All going to skew the death rate graphs etc

And I always knew once they got a sniff of power, they'd be instrumental in our deaths.. All that " I love you," as they intertwine themselves between our legs...haha..
Does remind me of the..dog diary v cat diary..:D

Its a personal choice. I'm just not happy discussing politics on here. I joined it as it was just what I was looking for in a thread. Light hearted, fun, friendly. I learned something every day. It has always been a pleasure. Especially love the art work. The photos shared. The wonderful stories. I personally don't want to read any more about politics, I'm already saturated by it on TV, radio, social media, surrounded by it. Doing my very best to understand what's happening in the world. So I am doing whats right for me. I understand others are happy to discuss anything and everything on here. Its not for me at the moment.
Thats pretty much how I think Debs. I try to always post something which wont offend, worry or upset anyone else and dont understand why anyone else would want to but it happens, little digs thinly veiled. Not necessary. I waffle on about my mundane life and pets but maybe thats not enough for this thread. I love the art and uplifting posts (@karen8967 never fails. I will dip in still but dont feel as safe here anymore. It would be sad for you to go.

I know that. Thats the beauty of this whole forum. I'm going to take time out to put together a YouTube video to hopefully help other diabetics.

I'll be really sorry to see you go PM ...I ignore the little thinly veiled little digs the pet recipes offensive references to pets/protein and those with no sense of humour... I have addressed these matters directly with the members concerned in a message very cathartic for me.. I refuse to give them an opportunity to disrupt my enjoyment here bizarre how those who are about to insult or offend other members believe it's okay if you apologise beforehand...it will stop if we refuse to give it attention...I hope you feel able to return here soon I enjoy your posts and will be desperate for news of Mr & Mrs Fuzz

PM you are one of the most positive of forum members I've ever come across. I know you have lots going on yourself but never fail to support others. Yes I love @karen8967 posts too. I've shared so many of them, and in turn my friends and family have shared too. Spreading positivity. I'm just going to take time out to work on a couple of things. I was so disappointed last month as the 140 page diabetes special was postponed til summer. It was going to press (magazine) sharing lots of diabetics journeys, I was one of tnem. So I'm going to concentrate on my yoitube video. Might split into 4 or 5 separate videos to hold people's attention! It's so frustrating and upsetting what is happening out there. People not doing their jobs effecting people's lives! I can't do anything about what is happening but I can maybe help in my own small way by doing this.

Yep... We rather unkindly call him covid cat.

Sad to say we are not immune to the chat and gossip,
So difficult to work what is a lie, conjecture or truth.

If he was our cat.. No worries
But he's someone else's and a street cat most of the time.

We feed each visit, and still cuddle, but less so.
And now wash hands after.
He's not liked the social distancing, but like all of us he does adhere to it.... mainly

He does dribble ( poor mite has a slight hair lip lower jaw, ) so I am very conscious of him getting to close to our faces... It has put him out, you can see it.. But as I told him, its not forever..( pray )

Still a welcome visitor, and until proof comes otherwise, that will continue.

( To be honest wouldn't have the heart to just block him out of our lives)

@PenguinMum I would love you to reconsider and stick around as I would @Debandez both of you have been very supportive and helped myself and others loads through the year. Maybe consider a small break from the thread, let's say, 2 hours :) at the longest.
So good to hear. Your posts have brought so many smiles to my face alone. You have such a way with words. I won't be far away that's for sure.

So that’s 5.15 miles round the 22 yard circuit today - those who dabble in arithmetic can fiddle with the numbers.
Confit tomatoes this afternoon - it’s supposed to enhance the flavour but with some offerings in supermarkets I would have to stuff them with scotch bonnets and garlic to get a sniff of anything approaching taste. Will see.
Puy lentils into soak for some more sprouting - all this sun trying to convince me that it is salad season. Just in case, I have some herb and chorizo flavoured mince in a tight roll in the freezer to slice and fry off tonight and we can have some rabbit food with that.
For all those still in the charge of school aged offspring - unlucky!
Make sure that you are mentally as well as socially distancing - my brain has been isolated for years since the last hunt for the Snark went all pear shaped.

Regarding dangerous pets. When we rescued Archie our chocolate Labrador at 10 months old he was absolutely crazy but when grandchildren came to visit he would treat them as though they were made of fragile porcelain and be so gentle and careful.

Both Labradors are the same - even though grandchildren are much older they are so careful.

Well in the hope we can all agree this is NOT on

BBC News - Coronavirus: 'Enormous strain' on protective kit for NHS - Williamson
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-52343912

" Gavin Williamson was asked by the BBC why British suppliers offering to make protective kit had not been contacted

in response, he said the government hoped to speak to them within "the next 24 hours", "

How on earth is that in anyway acceptable 3 months into this crisis. ?

Always viewed labradors like that, myself
Lovely dogs, such a lovely nature

As they say no bad dogs, only bad owners.

good afternoon all :)

4.5 today

gorgeous day here today, thankfully mostly without the freezing wind we had yesterday :)
over to mum's today to check in with her and we took the chance to have barbecue for lunch out in the garden, chicken and sausage with lashings of salad and coleslaw for me plus some potatoes precooked then grilled on the barbecue for mr gee and mum.
One of her 'neighbours' across the road was doing his social distancing like Star Trek 3D chess today, 6 feet away and 6 feet up putting the felt on the roof of his new garden shed whilst chatting to people passing by :hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@gennepher what a lovely painting, so evocative.
@Muddy Cyclist the finished work does not disappoint, it's a strong finish to the set :)

today's art catch up -
no 1 - just a quick bit of colour practice to get the green glare out of my system and to remind me not to get too fiddly. (Windsor and Newton - but not the blue that fades ;))
upload_2020-4-19_18-23-47.jpeg

no 2 - anemones (plus a pink tadpole where I inadvertently splashed the paint :D) done with the Kuretake paints
