Good Morning and 6.2 for me today. I'm really struggling to get these fasting readings below 6, day time readings are always below usually mid 5s or lower and carb intake is below 3grms and no snacks after evening meal. :banghead:

Today is our wedding anniversary from a day back in 1972. Not going out to eat or visiting anywhere which will be a first in all these years so quite a unique day.

Be bold in whatever you do today. Keep safe.

Fbg 6.5

Another dull cloudy dawn and sunrise. Although there is a hint of pink spreading the grey clouds...

Popeye is fast asleep besides me, so here is a ZenBrush2 painting of him minus his white bits! Well you don't wear your tuxedo in bed do you?

I put it in Snapseed to get that thin black frame I like. And I accidentally touched a morning yellow light filter. Which is giving a wee bit of a yellowish paper effect. I decided to keep it for this painting.I am not too keen on the coloured paper effects in ZenBrush2. Maybe I will experiment a bit more with these colour filters in Snapseed once I have done the sketch in ZenBrush2.

A very pleasing image, that filter worked well, liked the way it edged the fur with a halos of light, happy face Popeye he must be having pleasant dreams.

Ah, the morning chorus of clattering bins as we celebrate another Bin Day. A 6.3 from me which is not clever and probably caused by staying up very late and then having a snack ;)

Enjoy the day

4.8 this morning - back in the 4s. Checked weight - only 1/4lb to go before I am back into pre-lockdown weight.

Am going to try teaching on Zoom tonight. A class member is going to be a guinea pig. Am completely clueless on how to do this but hopefully it isn't too difficult. I think you can do It free - but am not sure how long for. Hopefully it is an hour.

If we have another lockdown I will.immediately start teaching everything on Zoom.

Congratulations and have a great wedding anniversary. Enjoy the company and memories. In 1972 I was just about to start Upper Vith now I'm a granddad.

Thank you. Life is marked by so many events and between them time seems to have rushed by when you look back over the years. Being a granddad is a good place to be, bet you didn't imagine this would happen back in those Happy school days. :)

Good morning everyone and a happy bin day to you from a morning of mixed messages in the sky department of the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of chicken and avocado salad with a liberal dose of sumac came in at a stonking 5.1 this am

Out on my bike this morning so will need to make time to layer up - I think waterproof liners may be in order - just in case. Fuelled the bike up yesterday and got a good soaking for my troubles - still, the bike got a wash.

@Muddy Cyclist - sweet chestnut after a flurry of snow - oh I really would have to leave it at that and fiddle about with another three seasons. Smashing anniversary card and a very Happy Anniversary to you and Mrs MC.

@geefull - goosegogs abound - will there be jam making? Not very disciplined when it comes to the art bit as I seem to flit between Chinese brush painting (shades of ink and lines) and Japanese sumi-e (simplicity of the line) - ah well, it’s just a bit of fun.

@Alien Aspie - your latest is looking very good but now you have got me investigating the use of layers.

@gennepher - Popeye looks as though he is happily curled up near the fire with that yellow tinge - purring away in a little halo.

@ianpspurs - grandchildren - how lucky is that. What fun, and returned home each nite - best of everything.

@Krystyna23040 - all the best for the zoom class - I am sure that it will be a great success.

Still playing with the ax cut but I probably need to fiddle about with a brush. This is Steeple, up Scoat Fell in the Lake District. Koffy time and best get a move on.
Have a wonderful day, “make it so” as Picard would say - incorporate lots of lollygagging.

Good luck, you will never be the same ;)

I encountered layers back in old Photoshop days, thought it was a daft idea and promptly ignored it until I did a workshop on using PS professionally. Now, I would be lost without them as they immediately give me a sense of foreground, background, and everything between. I do name my layers as I use so many and can forget what they are for or the hierarchy.

Just remember they are 'top-down', so my backgrounds are at the bottom of the list with foreground at the top which is only overridden by characters.

@Muddy Cyclist and Mrs MC congrats on your anniversary soon be your 50th myself and Judith wed in 1974 a couple of years after you in 1972 I had been in the RAF about 3 years and was stationed at RAF Mount Batten ironically in my home town where I met Judith who was also stationed at Mount Batten.

@ianpspurs talking of learning foreign lingo my brother in law when teaching in Bradford had to teach himself Punjabi in order to keep abreast of the jokes his class were making about him thinking he did not understand one morning he shocked them all by joining in their conversation. Took him nearly a month to learn the language.

Oh forgot fbg was 4.1 this morning.

Wet morning, cat on back door step, as rain is driving onto the more usual kitchen doorstep. Poor thing absolutely soaking wet. Dried him off with an old towel, fed and watered, he is now a slightly damp ball of contentment, sleeping in his allotted place. We were recently gifted a wooden box with a cushion. It's a little lower than a dining chair and the cat is able to jump up onto it. The box has been placed near to the kitchen door, so he can see out.
It's also a handy place to sit and remove muddy boots, which is, ofc the reason it was put there. Nothing to do with me wanting my chair at the laptop back.

Thank you. Mrs MC and I were discussing time together, 48 years married but we began courting at 15 so saw each other every day at school. Then later when Kath was at college and I was working I would go to Mrs MCs house on an evening where her mom and dad would put us in their front room to do our courting so we have not been apart much in 55 years.
