What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

good evening all :)

was 4.6 this morning

my arm muscle is a bit tender after the jab yesterday, but neither mr gee nor his mum seem to have any after effects so that's good :)

dinner at mum's today then home again for the evening :)
Tried feeding Katy some of the chicken left over from dinner and she wouldn't look at it, bit worrying until I realised it was because she was very suspicious of the sticking plaster on my finger :hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@Alien Aspie - that's a nicely done bit of animation especially for a first shot at it with that app. :)

@gennepher - hope the tech. is responding better today. Popeye looks large and in charge today :D

@dunelm - some lovely especially delicate bamboo for today and I like the building just peeping out from the foliage, adds a nice sense of scale to your landscape :)

@JohnEGreen - nice set of photos, very autumnal. Hope your son Adrian continues well :)

@Muddy Cyclist - an interesting start to your new picture, look forward to seeing it's progression.
Hope mrs MC soon feels better and has no further ill effects :)

art bit - thank you all for your kind comments on my art you're so supportive to us :joyful:

I didn't do any art yesterday :sorry:, the sticking plaster made controlling the brush a little awkward, I shall have to try to do two now to catch up ;)

Need to get the scanner out to scan the next batch of art soon too ;)

this was a darkish day with light on the far hills

Very well painted seascape and distant hills. I would like to be able to master that same lightness of watercolour paint you are so good at on distant hills. Hug for sticking plaster getting in the way.

Thanks for your comments re my painting and concerns for Mrs MC.

Good morning everyone on a day of promised bright spells here in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of bavette with roasted cauliflower came in at 4.9 this am

Boris is now conducting illicit experiments on himself - nul hypothesis - “you can’t get it again Bob”. Lewis the tax avoider dancing on ice in Turkey. Poor old Des has run his race, I’m a celebrity - added to the growing list of things not to watch. Breaking news - people with ginger hair - good grief - send them to the space station.

Hope everyone manages to have a decent Monday. Now heading for the koffy pot.

Wow that's some magnificent landscape, need to be fit to get to that temple, brilliant as usual.

My mobile wi fi internet iffy this morning...it's at a standstill...stuff not loading...I might have to go over to my phone data...
Will try and play catch-up in a bit
Digital painting for today in ZenBrush2 then Procreate...

Some nice strokes of the finger for those trees, simple and very effective piece of art.

Good Morning, late for me, and 6.7 today.

Strange 24 hours, Mrs MC says I have stolen her thunder as after her vertigo moment yesterday all went down hill for me. Flu like aches in every muscle and joint, exhaustion, sore throat, chills and fevers, temperature 38.7 so went to bed. This morning still ache temperature 38. No cough no loss of taste or smell but feel really grot. Very annoying as I have an ENT appointment on Tuesday to sort the deafness I have had since March, looks like I won't be going. :banghead: Then there is the whole Covid or Not Covid question, ARRRRGH!

I will see how the day goes. Keep safe.

The weight fluctuation is something I notice as I weigh every day. One thing that seems to happen is weight change seems to have a day's lag. Fluid retention plays a massive part. Many of us on LC have lost water weight as much as anything else according to the gurus.

I might start doing that next month ...

While I don’t weigh myself every day I am frustrated at putting on and losing the same lbs each week at the moment and suspect my backed-up issue is partly to blame.

I took someone’s advice and got some travel probiotics but to be honest I don’t see much change so apart from making myself drink three large bottles of water and make some psyllium husk bread and home made soup I might still be suffering for a while. I have dropped to two Metformin and one jardiance and if my levels broadly stay around normal then that will do for now.

Do you think it might be worth getting a test just to be on the safe side?

Can you get a test MC?
It would, perhaps, clarify things for you.

What we you doing a week or so ago, was their any risks? Atb D.

The chemist wasn't much use, just suggested I talk to my GP.

2kg weight equals 2L water I believe so not hard to see it could just be water retention.

I need a tap on the head or maybe drainpipe trousers :)

Hug for the feeling grot @Muddy Cyclist. As suggested, source a COVID test pronto. @Alien Aspie nice humour re water retention but I guess the situation is tailor made for some stress with you being an aspie?
My diary just reminded me this time last year I had just finished chemo and we were in Cyprus. Every morning I was in the gym by 7.00 am twice with a PT, then swim, sauna and shower. Breakfast by the pool then lying by the pool until another gym session before evening meal. On return to UK I joined local gym and had a couple of PT sessions. I slept like a log and all vital signs were perfick. Then a worrying time which needed tests - all clear. Then Christmas and move when I was going to join a local gym but COVID intervened. Many here and elsewhere have had far worse 2020s and I'm blessed but a) it explains my frustration with this diet/exercise/bg level rigmarole and b) shows that we are only entitled to the pursuit of happiness. We should have been going to Cyprus again about now:bigtears:

Was nice to get the Bosch man in today and get the oil boiler serviced properly.
The plumber who installed the new boiler took an amazing 15mins when he did the services, this time it took 60mins.

I guess it must be an age thing but I like to see any work by trades people over and things running smoothly again, plus feeling it was done properly.
D.

A week ago I was moving furniture from MILs bungalow with help of A friend and his teenage son, masked but worrying.

Thanks to all who mentioned test, but I can't get one as I am told I have non of the other rexongnised symptoms, I could tell porkys and say lost taste but that does not seem right although I know a relative that did to get a test.

Good news is temp now 37.1 so I'm putting it down to a glitch, Fibromyalgia, sore throat, stress, who knows? I will either get better or worse for now it seems I'm on my own and left to guess work.
