Really cannot be bothered with anything else though. Feels like that was my last shot. Been out of IT for too long to go back and I think journalism as a second career is coming to an end, so feel pretty depressed at being an unemployed and now obviously unemployable 51yo so last post of mine for a while, as I try and figure out what the hell I do now.
Bye for now.

Online hug, easy to click , but meant to bring some small measure of comfort on a difficult day. Please dont give up on posting. We will miss you, it's possible you might miss us, at the very least we can be a sympathetic listening ear.

Swipey went 3.4 @ 3.30, 4 at 4.00 then 4.4 @ 6.30. Pick yer favourite. Oh no, I've said too much - I haven't said enough (No, I'm not for anyone who knows the song.) @RFSMarch lurk, PM, whatever we are here for you. It is inconceivable that a country in such a parlous state can't use someone as talented, determined and plain wonderful as you. What things feel like and what the truth is are hardly ever the same. God bless and hang tough.

I know things feel pretty awful and overwhelming.
But we will miss you. I look forward to your posts, and others do as well.
Keep posting.
Give us all your best grumbles, and frustrations, and set backs, and also your achievements. By writing them down, you will help yourself find a way forward. That is what this thread is here for. That is what we are here for.

FBG 6.7 again today, rough nights sleep last night. I wrote a long message to my care coordinator regarding the lack of routine and how only one support session a week has been very damaging to my mental health, whilst I understand they are finding staffing difficult right now I had to tell them what it was doing to me before I hit another mental health crisis as I did during the first lockdown. They aren't an autism-specific provider and as I'm a verbal autistic who is fairly good at masking they often forget that I'm autistic. I sent the message quite late last night and I had that on my mind before I went to bed, so I didn't sleep very well. I'm just awaiting a response and that is stressing me out a bit. Very tired and irritable this morning.

Good morning everyone from a sky of brightness and hope here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of three egg omelette and some freshly baked low carb bread came in at 5.2 this am

Phew - what a catch up - greedy cats abound and somebody threw the holy hand grenade of Antioch - Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.
@gennepher - thanks for the feedback about mist and for a majestic, broiling, crashing set of waves.
@Muddy Cyclist - thank you for your kind comments - old man looks very approachable. More old father time than any boatman. Purple sounds royally good.
@geefull - thank’s for your feedback. Smashing little sketch and another one of you good landscapes with a well crafted sky.
@karen8967 - good readings there, happy days.
@RFSMarch - sorry to read about the no-go on the demo after all your efforts, take care.
@ianpspurs - thank you for yet another well found poem.

Bin day today and somehow the over eager recycling bin was found edging towards the pavement and had to be put on the naughty step. Plumbing went as bad as I expected - took out the flow cartridge and the ceramic discs fell out, leaving the end firmly jammed into the shower bar - good fault finding though. No replacement part for that particular model until time travel has been sorted so shower outlets now blanked off until another suitable replacement is sourced - blast! Another line of manufacturing built to fail after only a few years - whatever happened to just replacing the odd washer. I blame the demise of Yorkshire joints.

Painting today on rice paper with a very light yellow ochre wash. Hope everyone has a good Mitwoch - for anyone feeling the black dog of depression bearing down - talk, don’t leave it. Koffy and then phone Boris about orders for sprouts.

You did right by telling them your needs @JFWinstone
It has caused you stress waiting for the response. I hope it comes soon.
Take care.

Sorry to read this @JFWinstone and hope that you can soon get back into a routine that works well for you.

I do hope they listen to you and provide you with the support you need. They do have a duty of care towards you and it looks like they are not taking this seriously.

I know someone else in exactly your situation and they have made a complete career change and are now training to be a teacher. I am not suggesting for one moment that you should do that because teaching children is definitely not for everyone but you are such a talented and hard working person that I am absolutely sure you are not unemployable.

Thank you @dunelm

I hope you can sort the shower out sooner than later. Good luck for that.

I love this yellow treatment to your detailed painting.

Have a good day.

@RFSMarch I agree with @Krystyna23040

I am also absolutely sure you are not unemployable.

One of my daughters had to make a complete career change because of Covid. She started her new job as a lecturer at a university this week. She is nearly 50 years old, and her previous job (something completely different) with the same employer, she had done since leaving uni. She was turned down initially for this lecturer job, and was giving up. I listened to her, she told me she really wanted it and was so disappointed. So I explained some stuff, and suggested how to reapply pushing the skills she has told me she has over the years. She not only got the job now, but was also promoted to senior lecturer. And she has never lectured in her life.

There is something out there for you @RFSMarch

I hope the search for a part to fix the shower goes well. We have been waiting for a bath end panel since October - still stuck at Felixstowe. It is the UK though. I can't take any credit for the selection of poems that is all due to Malcolm Guite. How I came across Malcolm Guite is due to The Ultimate Power IMHO - no, not Julie (I'm much taller):angelic:

This was already my second career and I have sunk over £100k into that and my sports website so alas this time a third career is not an option at all.

I really like this man and even trying as hard as I can to factor in and correct my bias he has nailed the shower running (Southern? )England PLC. They’ve given up caring about UK. Nice corrective before Gump stuffs his face and miraculously pulls off an "impossible" deal. It couldn’t possibly be timed to coincide with the anniversary of his get Brexit done election win could it?. Far too cynical Ian.

Hugs for you @RFSMarch

I would be bitterly disappointed at the moment after the rejection of yesterday.

So, this is your second career? And you have invested a lot of time and effort and your soul into this.

Take no notice of me if you want, if I am going too far. You want this career. Then find a way of making it yours. You have a lot of skills you have accumulated. If you feel you want to, then find a way of taking on board what you were told yesterday and utilising that in going forward with the same person/people. If not, then look for another way in using the skills you have and your website.

Take care and look after yourself.

Hope you can get the mouse working - it is so annoying when that happens.

Slim lizzy could possibly try reloading a mouse driver again.

Otherwise she could show it an A4 illustration of gennepher's Popeye! :)

I once saw a Limousine bull turn round in a bull pen immediately after my grandson, who was four at the time, said to it, "Turn round and show us your bottom!"

D.

I HAD this career. Past tense. Nothing more to be said really. Thanks all but I need to be where people are not.
