Might have, i say MIGHT have.... my first venture out in car today, after #legbreak

Yes, yes, not ideal*..but madame has an appointment with some doc, i and she asked / and i want, to take her there.

Car is just across road, so only danger is I slip A-over-T before i get to it.:wideyed:

But a slip could be a real blow, so slow & steady, just like those 'seniors' road signs ;):bag:

Anyway, Madame is checking out for me just how slippery it is, before we venture out into the wild.

deep enough snow to cover a mouse's paw, and LONDON's all ground to a halt..... probably
(if that was even MORE possible)
so pray for us in the capital as life shuts down, and the day after tomorrow is NOW here...Aghhhhh.

But on the bright side, I'm prepared for anything, as i have been binge watching the walking dead,
and now just off to recap on ice road truckers for a few tips or whatnot..
A world of experiences and idea, all in one tiny box.:D.

delicious, i mean delicious dinner last night.
Half a steak pie, dauphinoise potatoes + broccoli (M&S dine in for two..+ pudding which i skipped )

a few meds and it was almost predictable. But did i mention it was DELICIOUS :singing:.

so no hugs required, I've placed myself on the naughty step..

I hope all goes well with the walk to the car and the drive. Did you watch the Superbowl? Brady is either a freak of nature or true example of looking after yourself, ageing well and maybe having the Grace to be born with amazing genes. It may help that he is quite well off and married to this young lady who is also not potless and looks full of health and vitality BUT he still has to live, train and deliver under pressure (if cut he still bleeds). We all have "agency" it is not the meedja/big pharma/wokeism/EU/snowflakes insert the "other"/scapegoat/pantomime villain of choice. (Yes, I know it is blindingly obvious who my pantomime villain and villainess are:angelic:)

Have a good day children playing in the snow. Try not to get any ice in your snowballs.

At the moment I would have to do something really silly to use my sledge.

It was good when I with the kids, used to sledge on Faulds Brow and Skiddaw dash valley, but even then pulling one of them up hill on the sledge was a bit much.
I made a sledge with a good safety margin that three of us got on, but the duchess was never one for rolling in the snow.:)

Hello jjraak and @dani96xx I'm not in a position to really comment on your blood sugar levels. I'm type 2 on insulin, but I take a shed load of powerful medication including a nasty little steroid called Prednisilone which plays havoc with blood sugars. I come under the hospital diabetic consultant, they at least have experience of seeing diabetic transplant patients. GP's and nurses are just totally out of their experience range when dealing with patients like myself.

4.4 today

we had a bit of snow lying here when we got up then it became quite sunny and the wind dropped :) There was no snow at Mum's at all and mr gee and I got a bit of garden tidying up done after dinner, first time the garden has been dry enough in weeks. then the wind got up, the temperature dropped and the snow flurries began.
home again with only a quick stop in transit to pick up a tray of free range eggs from the machine on the farm :D

Pudding was well received so I may make it again, the rest of the Christmas pudd is in portions in the freezer now ;)

@Muddy Cyclist - hugs for mrs MC, I hope the reaction has subsided now so she gets a good sleep tonight. Does her strong reaction indicate a strong level of developing immunity do you think?

@Krystyna23040 - I'm glad the little dog is safe, it's a horrible feeling when you can't find them. Katy went missing in Mum's garden and we had to disentangle her from a blackberry bush a few months ago :(

art bit - thank you for your kindness towards my first shot at the northern lights yesterday, I have a feeling that they come into the same category as rainbows, fiendish ;)

The setting sun below the clouds was just catching the tops of some of the hills the other day :)

So, out of the blue text from our practice inviting me - and Julie separately - for COVID vaccination. Followed link and booked a slot in approx 30 secs - Thursday 11.00am at local centre where we had flu vaccines. Maybe 5 mins drive from home. From well behind schedule Suffolk, or at least this part, seems to have picked up. I am 65.58 btw.

Fbg 13.8 this morning.

When I said there was a text yesterday saying I was invited to take up the Covid jab at the Rainbow Hospital,I forgot to mention it was at 10:30 this morning. Less than 24 hours notice, so I think I went into a bit of a panic.

Hence that high Fbg. I am not good with stress. I am calm and show no outward signs, but inside...and I was worried with communication because of my deafness. That is usually the major issue, because I have no idea what I am walking into.

There was a couple hundred people in front of me queuing outside (mostly elderly) when I got there. OMG. At least it wasn't raining or snowing, but it was below freezing. But the queue moved pretty quickly. A lot of elderly struggled, and I did too. I had my Walker, so I had to keep sitting on that. People were kind.

I had my usual signs saying I could only lipread. That helps a lot.

I was given the Pfizer vaccine. It only hurt momentarily as she withdrew the needle. Otherwise I am fine. I feel a bit sleepy now. The bg levels are going down. It wasn't food related.

When I got home I looked at my Covid jab card. I noticed a couple of crossed out bits with a blue biro. The bit that said your next jab is due, but that and the empty box was was crossed out, as was the bit that said read the nhs site on Covid 19. But we were given a booklet on Covid. This got me wondering if this is the only Pfizer jab we will get?

I texted my art group, they have all had the jab, but they all had the Oxford one (they went to their GP for the jab), and they have a date in 3 months time to make an appointment for the second jab of Oxford vaccine.

Any thoughts?

Their doing an assessment as to whether they can mix and match with the Pfizer and Oxford, its not supposed to report until early summer but don't be surprised if the politically expedient trumps scientific assessment.

Then again I was born a sceptic when it comes to politicians, they already broke the contract they made with me and others when I got my first Pfizer jab on December 23rd.

Joan Bakewell has a campaign on that issue

Two morons went up the fells and one got chest pains.

They called out the Patterdale rescue team and one of rescue team fell c.500 feet down a mountainside and was helicoptered to hospital with life changing injuries.The police must have given the two an on the spot fine of £200 for breaking Covid rules .......they should have locked them up and thrown the key in a tarn.

I definitely think that online teaching instead of having snow days will be the way forward in the future. I have heard that it is not a popular option with some teachers.
I must admit that I really like the Zoom classes - especially as it will mean no travelling backward and forwards to Norwich when the roads are dangerous.

The dogs have been really happy playing in the snow in the garden and haven't missed their walk at all..

I drove my VW Camper, no school runs and so roads quiet and I don't mind driving on New snow before it gets compacted. By the time I returned roads were clear. Thank you.
