What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

8.1 Left Hand & 7.4 Right Hand - Both are truly depressing. I’m Adhering to “The Program” yet I still can’t force back down to the 6s. Last few nights I’ve had better sleeping patterns. This is real tough. How long does it take for the Liver to be “rinsed” of Sugar? It would appear I’m on a plateau with no rope ladder to ease myself down off it. Going to go for walk today.
This is some chat so not to go off tangent but sounds tough, and would be good to use another thread where can be discussed in more detail to see if there is anything obvious in your levels or general other measurements. Some people just have higher morning fasting levels and some lower, are tour general day levels still higher than you feel happy with?

Sometimes the human body just doesn't behave the way we expect and everyone is unique, some people can just tolerate what others can't

5.7 according to the Swipey that has been everywhere from 3.2 to 6.2 in 16 hrs. I don't need insulin so it is just a nuisance.
@Jordi77 -- Welcome back. @mojo37 -- Hugs for the poor sleep. @Estragon hugs for the struggle with BG hope you get a reset soon. Shamelessly copied from @ziggy_w and @PenguinMum as nobody does it better:angelic:

6.0 for me today. Though I didn’t check until after a cup of coffee.
@Ryhia. When you consider ND , do you mean Very Low Calorie using meal replacement products?
Are you needing to lose weight as well as reduce HbA1c?
The ear infection will most likely be causing erratic blood glucose levels. So might be best not to make drastic changes to diet until that is cleared.

It would be nice to lose a little more weight plus I do think going low cal would be helpful for my bloods just not sure I have sufficient motivation to sustain a VLCD for 8 to 12 weeks; a couple of weeks should be ok though.

Morning All. 6.2 so not good. @Ryhia sorry you are struggling with BG but ear infections are horrible so be kind to yourself until you get better. @Estragon hugs for the struggle with BG hope you get a reset soon.
Thanks for the kind words @PenguinMum, the infection is quite a ways in my ear so has been causing problems but just thankful it turned out to be nothing too serious. Hopefully bloods will settle soon but then, when have they ever been predictable.

Average FBG this week 4.9. Weight still creeping down very slowly. Slowly is a good thing as it means less risk of muscle loss. I have to keep going with the diet until I get normal FBGs. I have been getting advice from an NHS trained and qualified dietician.
Average of 4.9 looks pretty good. I would be happy with that, as long as there were no huge variations between readings.
Today mine was 6.0. Just like @Ryhia I think I would feel better with some more weight loss. A year of shielding for covid has meant no swim and gym, and I do feel there is some muscle wastage, despite trying to walk more.

@Andydragon - Indeed. Just to mention I’ve just registered a middle day 6.4 . This is the lowest midday for a month, then it was 6.1.

Great to hear @Tannith they get such a bad press on here. I have no experience of them but glad to see a balancing view.

Odd that! Who would be so arrogant as to think they knew better about diet than an NHS qualified dietician?

Have you recently had your Covid jab? That caused havoc with my BGs for a few weeks.

Have you recently had your Covid jab?
Recently? I had on the 4th February. I had these reactions: very sore arm, feeling drunk without the pleasure of drinking and headaches. These reactions vanished after time, but I have no ability to cross reference Jab and BG, maybe others have informed evidenced-based data. Update for today: I had the lowest midday number for a month. I had 6.4.

Only N=1 no actual evidence: although my arm was sore (no other symptoms )but after a couple of weeks my BG was completely erratic and high for no reason I could think of. Lasted 2-3 weeks I think.
