It's the London marathon today and both my sister and daughter are running. Tried but failed to download the app to follow them round. Think it downloaded but can't find it in my phone.
After we real days of heavy rainfall the indoor water feature in the loft has reappeared and a new one in the salon has left a decent sized puddle on the hearth. Roll on November when the roofers are coming and please can the clouds roll away until then.
All the very best to your sister and daughter

I am engaged in the genteel and time consuming business of cleaning chandeliers. It's taking much longer than I expected and the end result does not look much better. Plan is to repaint them so it's essential to get them clean enough for paint to stick
Oh dear getting chandeliers down, shades of Del boy! ;)

British Gas have been trying the last 10 years to tell/persuade/push me that my 17 year old boiler needs replacing because the parts won't continue to be available @lindisfel

Well my central heating boiler is still going strong...

And so is this old boiler who wouldn't mind some replacement parts, but she is still going...

That's how they twist people's arms but gas must be safe, genepher.
There is always asking on the internet. Can one get.....spares for......? You may be lucky if you get an approved gas installer as well, but it is difficult for you genepher.

You just knew that ejection tube was waiting for her! :)
Actually, I was absolutely on the edge of my seat and could hardly watch it as I so didn't want her to die in the ejection tube. Mr K had to remind me that it wasn't real life. He always watches series like Vigil so calmly.

Thanks @lindisfel

Good morning all even though it is wet here though we were promised dry. I've cancelled the tip run so a day without a highlight. St Francis day today, reminded myself of his prayer - bad move in some ways. That B Woman used it to truly gaslight the UK and I'm a universe away from his genuine feelings therein. To business. 5.9 from Swipey - all kinds of wrong off the back of defo keto level stylee day. Scrub the in remission replace with in big trouble. Yes, I had a glass of red wine (Barbera, new one on me but I likey) and red meat yesterday - always an issue. Yes, I'm sleeping much later and Swipey shows a big DP lift but c'mon this is on a par with the operation was a success but unfortunately the patient died. Uncontrolled diabetes is a slow, painful killer which is why we do this but to onlookers all the analysis, self denial and disruption of family life must (I know it does) seem like a waste of time and money when it works at this level. I'm so far in - and so stubborn, let's be honest - I won't stop but I am very, very sceptical. I still wish y'all success and the very best day. Live your best life seems to a popular aphorism these days.

Good morning everyone from an all things bright and beautiful morning here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of roast chicken in a harissa and pepper sauce came in at 5.2 this am

Incinerator on - burning old company accounts and other paper stuff hoarded “just in case”. Some interesting past work dug up on teaching arithmetic using colours - no, just get rid of it. Mr Pickle stayed over last night so we sat round the table doing home work - using the graphs convert x to y - that sort of thing. Hot tip from grandad - “use a ruler”. Doctors appointment at 11 - just a follow up.
A couple of weeks ago a nephew gave me a cigarette paper from a pack that he bought in Spain. Found it yesterday so decided to see if it would take a bit of ink. A bit flimsy but here you go. Have a wonderful day if you can. I shall have koffy.

Fbg 6.7

Tired today. Spent yesterday trying to put a bird feeder a metre away from my bedroom window, where there is nothing to hang it on. Which meant cutting down some more thick willow branches to attach to something (somehow) and then hang the bird feeder to that. I still had a problem with hundred of wasps (feeding off honey dew from the aphids) on that willow tree where I needed to cut those thick sturdy branches off. But I waded in anyway. A lot of irate wasps because I am stealing (to them) their 24 hour saloon free boozing facilities...

I managed to get one, but had to retreat into the bungalow. A couple more attempts and I now have three long sturdy branches. I don't have the strength to keep going n a project, so it means frequent rests, but that means projects take a long time and I get disgruntled.

It is not quite finished, I've anchored it down well enough and attached a cut ash tree branch which was very curly and it is good to hang the feeder on. But I need some rope to a anchor it down totally and utterly for when we have a windy storm which may mess it up. I will get some rope later this week.

What am I rewarded with this morning? A bluetit and a sparrow feeding together on this new feeder. And it is so delightful to be able to see them in such detail. I could watch them all day...

My creative work. Er...a shiny black bin bag. I tried playing with the shininess in Snapseed to get a black&white picture. But it failed miserably. So I went back to doing a double exposure (that is introducing another photo on top to see what happened). Now it is more pleasing to my eye. Fartnarkled a wee bit. And then I like it, for no reason except it is there. It is not anything intentional. It is the end product of playing in Snapseed.

Painting on the cigarette paper @dunelm is great.
Spellcheck is misbehaving. Instead of doing 'Painting' which I wrote, it changed it a second later to 'Prisoned'....I feel a haiku coming on..."Imprisoned on the paper...." may be one line...
I pressed select on Prisoned and it automatically changed it back to Painting . Why it thinks it knows better than me what I want to write, I have no idea...

Very detailed for a small cigarette paper.

5.2 this morning.

We managed a 6 mile walk around our local area yesterday. We walked to our little market town and then found a walk we had never done before. We definitely were ready for our Sunday lunch after that. What is amazing is that 15 year old Archie did the walk effortlessly yesterday and this morning was chasing Poppy around the house.

Thank you for that which very neatly introduced some perspective - I'm learning some arty words- for me. Your drive to do things which are important to you because you care for wildlife and sharing your creative talent is truly inspirational. I too mislay my gruntle - truth to be told very often - but ..... your post reminded me - no idea why since I really don't like musicals or film a great deal. Lyrics. Go well superstar.

@ianpspurs is 5.9 your highest reading of the day?

@ianpspurs is 5.9 your highest reading of the day?
@Krystyna23040 thanks for the concern behind that question. Sadly there are some spectacular ones over the last 3 months. Some attributable to exercise and events (such as needing a pee - which seems to raise it ) - but some inexplicable when I have detailed records. There are numbers I haven't seen in all my 6 years. I am completely boxed in by finding Eslie hideous outside a narrow food set. Anything above 4s at anytime implies potential damage in my mind. Maybe Breckland doesn't suit my bg either but last A1c, entirely living here, was average. It's an utter mess which is very apt when one thinks about it - except I won't lie and deny it:angelic:

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, here in Tilehurst Towers today is an unknown.

A surprising 6.1, I was expecting a higher reading, that meter……

Yesterday’s woodworking project with the help of my eldest grandson is finished and can be collected, so today as stated a mystery. I would post pictures, me and me’s don’t have a clue how to get the pictures onto this cast off iPad thingy,
Ah that could be a task for today while Mrs J goes foraging for human/Neanderthal fodder, vegan bacon is high on the list or so I have been informed.
Have a great day and stay safe.

Well you got that in the bag, great bright/dark effects and a sure winner for tenacity with the bird feeders.

Thank you @gennepher - painting and prisoned - so close you could easily mistake one for the other
