What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Got side tracked yesterday forgot to post with Wednesday's meals.

Three hard boiled eggs, two slices of low carb toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Tub of greek yoghurt, lemon cordial and osmolax mix for smoko.
Liver and bacon, onions in a savoury gravy, green veggies for lunch.
Cheese ham and tomato toasted low carb sandwiches for supper at six.

Had a text from my GP for my appointment this arvo,

Masks encouraged from 13/12/21

First time I have seen masks being encouraged, it's either wear them or don't come in when it was compulsory
Might have something to do with Queensland re opening it's border with the rest of the world on Monday

Creamy tomato soup from canned tomatoes with lots of cream and little meatballs.
I'm having a nasty cold so not much appetite, soup seemed the easiest way to make myself eat. :)
And with all the cream and the meatballs it's very filling as well.

I wasn't sure how good it tasted, not tasting much from clogged sinuses.
Good thing I have my two resident experts. Pretty sure this means I've made a very tasty soup! :hungry:

The first was from Asda but I've just picked up more in Morrisons. Own label both, but the ingredients are the same. 10% sugar though and it is raising my bg too much if I I have more than a tiny bit. You have been warned!!!

Soup looks great - real comfort food. I’ve already eaten dinner tonight so I shouldn’t be hungry, but I would still eat a bowl of that! Hope you feel better soon.

Very busy today and didn't pay the attention that I should to what I've eaten.

B:ff greek with chia seeds and blueberries.
L: on the run, a pack of corned beef
Mid afternoon. Lots of cooking going on so nibbling and tasting. Half a bar of Divine raspberry dark choc. Nutrients info says only 29g carbs but meter disagrees and so do I , it must be higher carbs. All other dark raspberry choc is.
Lots of tastes of veg and lentil soup, smoked salmon mousse and Berry cheesecake (lc).
Went too high, but not into danger zone (just)
Dancing brought bg back down to 5.5
The ruined it with fish and chips. I had 10 chips and left the batter but it still took me up to 10. At least I know now. I am using this Libre to test things I hadn't before.

Edit for finger slips!
Edit 2 for more typos

In which case it only served one! The pieces of lamb I buy usually say they’re for 3-4, but barely do me for two meals :D. I guess they might serve more if the diners are eating greenery/carbs alongside.

And speaking of carbs, I’ve just succumbed to a bag of plain crisps in the hotel bar. Yum! Earlier a bag of nuts, some 85% chocolate and some chicken and slaw (just cabbage, onion and vinegar) were consumed en route to Brum.

True. And I never go along with suggested portions for meat either, 100-150g looks ridiculous on a plate that doesn’t have spuds or bread to pad it out.
Gosh crisps! That must be the first packet you’ve eaten in years, will you check BG or just move swiftly on?

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: coffee shop coconut cappuccino and a Carb Killa bar
Low Carb Food Company mistakenly sent me an extra box of food with the box of LC bread, bread rolls, pizzas and pork pies I had ordered, earlier this week! They said I could keep it all! It contained a few ready meals, more pork pies, two loaves of keto bread and some sausage rolls.
So tonight I had a free dinner!: cauliflower cheese (I added a few baby tomatoes for colour) with curried vegetables and a couple of small slices of the keto bread with butter followed by SF cherry jelly and cream.

Wow that’s a result! What were the ready meals like? The bread looks good.

Lunch three eggs scrambled in butter with half a hm lc roll followed by yoghurt and a few nuts with three squares of 90% chocolate
Dinner venison meatballs with hm pasatta and one slice of hm lc bread made into garlic bread and glass of Shiraz red wine followed by one lc brownie with spoon of cream.

Indeed! The curried veg and bread was great, the cauliflower cheese tasted good but I leave my cauliflower a bit more crunchy, however I guess the less crunchiness was due to being frozen. I think I may be buying a few of the frozen meat meals as stand bys for those I can’t be bothered to cook nights!

Thank you, I’m not sure your resident experts would appreciate sharing with me as well though!
In exchange for you allowing them to smother you in doggy kisses they'll be most happy to share about anything! Or you can buy their eternal love with some liverwurst of course.

Ahahhh. Thanks. I was wondering if you had found any without added sugar. I might just have to have an experiment.

Since I posted, my OH has had the temerity to "help me out" with the clotted cream, by having a great dollop to accompany a mince pie.

Actually, I think I might try some Brandy Clotted Cream. Could be OK, provided I add the brandy in the post-heating cooling phase, stir, then leave it alone.

I'm out most of tomorrow, so that little experiment will have to wait until the weekend.

Breakfast: the last half bowl of kale soup. Must ask Neil to get some more kale on the next shopping day.

2nd meal: Richmond meatless sausages. They reminded me of the meatless sausages we used to buy in tins about 50 years ago from the then, just starting up, health food market. We stopped buying them soon after that and these reminded me why. Sawdust is the first thing that comes to mind. The rest will go in the bin. I seem to be wasting an awful lot of food these days. No more buying ready made once the last pack of sweet and sour chicken has been used up/thrown out. Ended up with half a dozen frozen chips and lots of tea.

Thursday 2 December - bed 7.9 FBG 7.8.

Apart from schoolwork, busy with grandson making the annual decoration to hang up at school. These tiny snowman hands were a nightmare!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with egg mayo.
L. Some of the coconut milk.
D. Made curry for Hubby and the boys. I made one of these Iceland wild shrimp with added cauliflower rice, spinach, mushroom, tomato, spring onion. Normally I'd use Thai red curry, but I still had some spices and paste from the boy's korma, so I used that instead. Worked quite well.
DGF lemon cookie.

Friday 3 December - Bed 7.3 FBG 7.9

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with whipped cheese.

That sounds like a very fair and enjoyable exchange!
I’ve been trying to make dehydrated liver treats for Dennis, ( my air fryer is apparently a dehydrator too) I haven’t quite got the hang of it but he’s happy to Hoover up the failures. I’ll pack my bag.
