What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Yesterday was really tired after the shopping so didn't do my usual amount of exercise - just sat around and relaxed and caught up on reading. Also had the munchies and ate far too much extra food (cashews, Greek yogurt, Montezuma's 100%, cheese and cream).

Fbg 4.6. That really is a puzzle - it is not logical that it should be so low.

Second granddaughter has tested positive this morning. Luckily with almost non-existent symptoms.
Hug for granddaughter. Great fbg and yes it is illogical. So is my 73.5 kgs today after approaching 2400 cals yesterday which is approx 2+ days worth for me at times. Bring back the pine nuts Ma'am, JKP heard me say I liked them so naturally she went to Amazon. Looks like you got there first :angelic:

Good morning@dunelm. Thanks for the robin. We have a robin themed area of the new bungalow as part of the Christmas decorations this year. I don't know if you already take Amitriptyline but I was prescribed them for my slipped disc. When I took them at bedtime I was zombi-like until lunchtime the next day so now I take them at around 8pm and find it much better. I had a message from my GP too yesterday arranging a follow up phone call in January. I suspect my recent HbA1c result is high. :arghh: It must be lovely to live near to the sea even when it is bracing cold. Best wishes and enjoy your coffee. :)
Thank you @dogslife and yes, I find that taking the pills a couple of hours before bed works best. We do like it here on the coast. Nothing like a bracing walk along beach or cliff top.

Thanks to @ianpspurs for your supportive comment.
@dunelm hope you will be pain free soon, meanwhile enjoy the sea air and your art.
Like you am practially living on coffee, but am assuming you are suggesting wine as an alternative?
@Krystyna23040 how is your grandaughter going on? You are right about the uneccessary stress being handed out. Am a little (lot) disgusted that there appears to be no empathy for our situation. More understanding here than in the real world.
@gennepher love the squirrel

Good morning ,

Fbg at 5am was 6.0
Have been waking up at 3am and feeling anxious these past few nights. Does anyone else experience higher fbg when under stress/anxiety?

Hi

A long day .

Poor night
Drugged up to high heaven,
Sleeping pills ineffective.

And I finally get an ultra sound :angelic:
That may have found the issue.

Small sac, behind fracture. Is damaged.

Told it's a simple injection to improve it ≤prays≥

And amitriptyline to treat
And some muscle relaxant/sleeping pill.

Hopefully ensure a few nights decent sleep.

Early morning removal of skin graft site bandaging, gives mr longer o admire the new groovy (literally)
Shape of the scaring my arm.

Physio to rival tenko trial

All rounded Off by a bedside packed lunch with Lauren

So not a bad day.
Not bad at all

Noticed mine higher when stressed.

Not do sure about temperature.
But I do get an itchy bum cheek that presents when sugars are rather high.

Perhaps you have looked, but plenty of apps and techniques to help anxiety on playstores or YouTube

Simplest one for me, is to visualise daily life at motorway level, then move myself to a hillside to watch the cars (anxiety issues ), to see how important they are in reality

Won't work for all, but you get the idea :)

Hope you find s way that works/helps lower bloods

@SlimLizzy luckily granddaughter has only a mild case. She is a bit upset that she has caught it though.

Hopefully your family members will realise that they are being unreasonable and start being much more understanding.

Fbg 7.1

I had a stressful day yesterday.
The car had to go in for a service.
It was a dark and stormy afternoon, and the roads were gridlock most of the way there.
I waited a couple of hours in their showroom.
No hot courtesy drinks any more because of Covid.
I read and finished 2 kindle books.
You car is ready, it is right over there on the other side of the car park.
Usually someone brings it back to the door for me.
But the lady had gone back in, looked like they were locking up.
I'm soaked and tired by the time I get back to the car.
I turn the engine on.
But the digital display has changed, my digital speedometer has gone, and a picture of my car is in its place. What the use is that?
The analogue speedometer is too far to the right for me to see as I drive, and the steering wheel blocks my sight of it.
I was not into adjusting steering wheels at that time of day because panic had set in a wee bit by this time.
So it was diving into the rabbit hole of of digital menus.
Five or ten minutes later I had the digital speedometer back. But not the two displays I normally have either side of it.
I set off.
It's heavy going home traffic on a horrendous rainy dark and stormy evening.
What's wrong now?
My windscreen wipers are broken. They are behaving erratically. Suddenly going fast, suddenly going slow, and stopping totally when I drive under a bridge.
I feel physically sick.
It wasn't possible to turn round and go back, because of the roads/heavy traffic/poor visibility etc.
But when the wipers stopped under the bridge, realisation dawned that the mechanics had 'upgraded' (?) the digital stuff in the car (because other stuff had changed too). And no one told me.
Previous to this service at the garage, the windscreen wipers had 3 settings on the stick, bottom was intermittent, middle was constant, top was going like the clappers.
As they are set now, the windscreen wipers decide the speed they want to do at any given moment. And the rain was so variable, causing the windscreen wipers to have an absolute field day in their whole repertoire.

I felt very ill when I got home with not knowing what the windscreen wipers were going to do at any given moment.

I went to bed and went to sleep.

I can't drive back to the garage today because I have a 3rd Covid jab (or else I would have been there first thing this morning.

And there won't be mechanics doing stuff Xmas Eve.

My car is a Ford Ecosport. Does anyone have any ideas how to disable this automatic windscreen wiper idiocracy? (How do you spell that word?). I really would appreciate any pointers where to look online, even an instructional video. TIA.

I am assuming whatever the mechanics did to the digital stuff of the car, they must have enabled/activated something that was there before, but not enabled/activated.

I have to shower etc now and get my ID ready to prove I am me for the jab.

I need to chill out meditate before I go for the jab...

Creative today...a swan on the New Year Card. I practiced the beak, it was perfect. I do it on the card, it is too sharp. A failed swan...might end up in the bin...

Big hugs for automatic wiper gate but another smashing piece of Christmas art. I searched this, hope it helps: https://www.google.com/search?q=dis...j0j7&hl=en-GB&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

Good morning everyone from a zombi-like state here in the dark and dangerous north
the wonder wheel of out at the pub came in at 5.5 this am

Amitryptelin- can’t see if that is right - but anyhow - took 2 x 10mg tablets at 9pm and by 10.30 the film I wanted to watch turned into a blur and I went to bed. Slept until 7.30 - result - but will try just one this am (doc said that I could take up to three).
Mrs Miggins is taking everyone on the Santa Special on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway today - everyone frantically dressing on sparkly things and multitasking with breakfast toast with chocolate spread. Three small versions of the Joker from Batman.

Another Christmas theme this morning. Hope you all have a good day. Koffy time.
