What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning,

Fbg 5.3

Wow @gennepher what an ordeal but I am glad your appointment went well overall and it was lovely of you to give that man change.
@Krystyna23040 hope your sister is doing OK
Weather is crazy here, one day it's so hot and now its thunderstorms all week. Woke up 1am to such loud storm I thought the roof was going to cave in.
Off for my early am walk before it rains again!!

Thank you @Jojo85

Best wishes for MIL's 92nd birthday@ianpapurs. My birthday is tomorrow-Epiphany. After a long time debating whether to take the decorations down on 5th or 6th my dear dad passed away on 5th so today is full of flashbacks and sadness, not appropriate for tinsel etc. On the positive side my dad was looking forward to my birthday as I was born on his younger sister's birthday so I shall remember him with happy thoughts tomorrow. I hope your MIL enjoys her day. Best wishes to you all. :)
Oh @dogslife

Easy to pick hugs
But I chose Win.

So good to have happier moments where memories, warm our thoughts

I think you have this absolutely bright
To have that moment as a traditional part of your personal celebrations.

Was I able, I'd be raising a glass to you and your dad..xx

Take care.
Warmest regards

Such a wretched time for her and family

Good to have the comfirt of her son's .

Hope if the positive is confirmed, it's of the mildest form and passes asap.

Hugs the caring on the sidelines is still rough and takes its toll.

Warmest of hugs to all,
May the memories of his time with them
Fill some of the huge void he will have left

Xxx
Thank you @jjraak

@Jojo85 thank you. I think sister is still in shock. We did a food shop for her today as she is self isolating.

It has been lovely to catch up with the posts this evening.

First day back at work after the Christmas break. I wasn't lookIng forward to it as I thought, with everything going on, that I would be really rubbish at teachIng pilates today.

I was really surprised that I was able to concentrate fully on the teachIng and the day went well. I must admit though that I am really tired now.

You were tired and pushing yourself a lot before Xmas @Krystyna23040
Now you have had a rest, and know how good it can feel after that rest, make sure you take it easier than you did before Xmas.

Slow in going down again...

Creative today.
I know I need to paint in a morning, but I really didn't feel like it this morning.
Managed this.
The catkins on my willow are beginning to shine their silvery sheen when the sun comes out.

Hi to all who have awoken again and found their way here. No Swipey due to procedures, one of which involves 3 days self isolation. On Jan 3rd I read the Hilaire Beloc poem Courtesy so bear with, bear with. Duty/obligation/restitution is where my mind is at today. Where and how I’m living - including managing T2 by diet- doesn’t suit me or even feel “right.” Eerily T S Eliot Magi poem like. Just now I need to be here to help others very close to me. I have been guided (into remission?) for 6 years by you guys, The D Gurus - actually IMHO by God using those two. Not a star but I’m happy to see the same hand at work . I need to repay those courtesies . I should be more joyful about the situation, I know. I'm only too pleased to play my part. I’m working on the joy but I think it will come in future years if I’m granted those. Today is The Epiphany and in my experience those come when least expected and can't be summoned, they just happen.Today I’m granddaughter minding, doing a school pickup (COVID spreading festival IMHO), feeding a huge son then “going to ground” Play nice and only share recently sterilised toys. @Krystyna23040 methinks you had an Epiphany yesterday but I'm barking mad.:angelic:

You are so right @gennepher. My new year's resolution every year is to be much more sensible and not push myself so much. This year I really have to accept that I cannot do what I could 20 years ago and that I must take proper breaks.

Really good news about your eyes @gennepher. You must have been so relieved that all is well.

5.7:this morning. 0.9° this morning. Wore thermal base layers from top to toe, thermal gloves and my warm balaclava hat that I bought because of a really bad review which said 'don't buy because it is too warm for the UK climate'. Obviously the perfect hat for me.

So I was really toasty on the dog walk.

Good morning everyone on a wonderfully quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north
Lots of talk going on here about lack of parking and the proposed extension to one of the car parks down by the sea - £12000 per space they say! Big problem here in Saltburn-by-the-sea, smashing tourist destination vs not enough parking - shall I get myself a job on the parking enforcement team? Girl in the Bubble back to nursery this morning - 7.30 start. We will pick her up at 11 am and try and get some covid free lunch.

More water wash art this morning. I hope that your today is better than yesterday and that you suddenly get an intuitive grasp of reality - if so, send it to Boris. Time for some koffy.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who overslept on this national bin day.
A young wet behind the ears 5.7 this morning.
Today apart from fodder shopping is a huge unknown, me me’s and myself better enjoy the suspense then, time for pills and koffy here in Tilehurst Towers.
Stay safe all and if possible avoid school playgrounds, worse than the media for misinformation.

Thank you for sharing your artistic gifts.

Mate, he and the fruitcakes just keep "jumping the shark" denying there are any sharks or water and claiming to be unable to jump. Donkeys led by Donkeys. World leading performance of that particular insanity at PMQs yesterday. Is popcorn LC ? this is going to be an epic disaster movie.

Hello again folks, yes it really is me.

Another year, another dry January, Pep's boys going well, Groundhog Day?

Well, not quite. Friends may recall my travails with the dreaded shingles in the eye, causing much clouded vision last February. The good news is that the NHS performed a cataract procedure in September that has proven so successful that I only need glasses for close reading. I can now read road signs and am driving with a clear view ahead without glasses.

Not so great on the diabetes front. Several months of a lack of self control. But I CAN SEE the way ahead. LCHF on. Booze off. FBG 8.9 mmo/lt this morning. Glass half full (of diet cola).
