What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and a hug for @gennepher, but also a winner for bringing a smile to my bearded face.
A 5.3 on that meter of deception this morning.
Later today all kinds of chaos and mayhem will descend on Tilehurst Towers, we are having the 2 eldest grandchildren for a sleep over, we have to return them to their parents after evening dinner on Saturday. Sunday could be designated a day of recovery.
Mrs J has an agenda, me and me’s have an agenda and I’m sure the grandchildren have several agenda’s.
Stay safe all
What fun!

In the essence of that post I managed that this morning

Morning all.

A 7.1 FBG...not seeming to want to come down, anytime soon.

A sad-ish day

Friend went to check out scooter now it's no longer lost.

A few scuffs, scrapes & a broken mudguard.
Got off pretty lightly I thought
But as mate says, it did use you as a sled while it slid down the road...fair point

Insurance assessor been out to check.
Write off ...ho hum

Good news is valued twice what I paid, so in pocket at least .

Was weighing up to let it go or keep it at a lower cost and repair & ride or resell.

Much thinking and family thoughts seem to be it's a bike with bad luck now.so be rid.

And now I know that keeping it I'll never hear the end of it, if God forbid the slightest thing happens on it ."obeah, obeah"...

So decided to let it go

Leg extremely stiff first thing, dragging the mood down
Hand aching this morning from exercises.

Lady calls to check up on my decision.
A little bit in I ask where she based, Newcastle ?

"Liverpool" came a stoney response

Then an eruption of laughter from me broke the ice, as I apologised profusely :bag::banghead::banghead::banghead:

So yeah, I smiled today as per pic

And I ache a little less, because if it .

One decision made.

Now, where's that cuppa ....

Have a good day all :)

Eddie Jones' slightly dysfunctional crew brought me here via this in depth podcast. In theory all very simple BUT so are many things in life and sport. I was amazed how sagacious people I coached thought I was by saying you can't score runs in the pavilion. Do I have a point connected to managing The D? Sometimes very basic observation is helpful which is what I think the second attachment was all about. Broadly speaking, the environment is absolutely key for me. Maybe Swipey is too neat and cool? Hope the podcast and article help someone.

I would not have you all ignorant of the trends which will shape your lives ere long. I know one or two here are obsessed with remaining at the forefront of music and fashion - albeit the late 1960s to mid 70s but there we are. We are, apparently, all gathered around dinner party tables debating this article which is incredibly dense with US cultural references so google or ask the (older) grandkids - Gen Z. Top phrase from this is obviously "whoring 20s" - hopefully a time period not a lifestyle ambition. Start with normcore - 2014 may have been paused on Sky+ then deleted for some. The article which set me off was this. The boy may have had to grow out of being a history student but ......... It does resonate in that I'm pretty sure the yoof - those up to, say, 50 ish- has cottoned on to the Brexity era absurdity/sham. Post gym relaxation for a spavined old git.

A good decision @jjraak with that bike.

It sounded as though the bike was taking a few liberties using you as its sleigh.

Maybe one day when you are more mobile you can think about another bike. And I am sure you will...

FBG 5.6
Weight 46.1kg
0ff to local town for blood tests this morning and then marathon shop.
Saw what may have been a Coypu for the first time on the way. MrSlim has made curry and chilli, so the meals in the freezer will be replenished.
@gennepher Hope you can find a way to get the cat you want to your home in Wales.

Hope the blood tests go/went smoothly and the results lead to good outcomes. Good news on the freezer being restocked.

As all motorcyclist will tell you, the number of bikes you can own is n+1 where n is the number of bikes you already have

Hope the blood tests return favourable results. Don’t buy more that 20 marathon bars. You know it makes sense.

Hope it does stop raining so that you can walk today. We are having some horrible weather here also.

Good morning everyone on a breezy yet cloud free start here in the dark and dangerous north. Another sunny day perhaps?
Yesterday was a day of near constant vacuuming of a newly laid carpet - why do they come with such excessive amounts of fluff and detritus. I say vacuuming and no matter how much Mr Dyson throws at advertising some folk will still call it hoovering. The term Ewbanking never seemed to take off. Mrs Miggins returned from the little house on the prairie to report that all was well.
Art bit - a sheet of A3 watercolour paper, a bit of water and a brushstroke of ink. Hope you all have a smashing Saturday. Time for an early koffy.

6.0 this morning. I felt that I probably had a low in the middle of the night. It is so interesting how identical meals can result in quite large swings in blood sugars. It was a nightmare when I was on insulin so I am so happy now that I can just ignore them and let my pancreas and liver sort it out between them

BG this morning 6.7
Granddaughter and her boyfriend came for evening meal last night all my good work went down with the Apple Pie and Custard
Like many teachers wrote on our books in school Must Try Harder, my answer today is Exactly. K
My sister didn’t get home yesterday has she had a bad night more chest pains, her consultant is now looking to put in 3 more Stents she said even though they have already fitted two. I didn’t think they could fit so many our hearts to my limited knowledge has four chambers but then I’m no surgeon ‍⚕️
She may be home later today has her first procedure was difficult and she needed to take things easy so second lot of Stents are in 3/4 weeks time, very busy unit and of all age groups. Just wish them all a speedy recovery and back home to loved ones. K
