What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Fbg 6.2

Fed Midnight who wants lots and lots of strokes in a morning. He is now swinging on the swing overseeing the garden. He has taken over Popeye's Big Ted who always sits on the swing, and rests his head on Big Ted's leg.

Last night he was impatient for me to get in the bungalow and lock up. It had been raining all day and only brightened up late afternoon. And so I had gone out in the garden to do a few bits and pieces, and I was out a bit later than usual. Midnight was sitting impatiently by the swing, and kept miaowing at me to finish up. Finally I did, and put his supper down, gave him a few head strokes, and locked the final door. But he doesn't eat his supper straight away.

He gets on the (his) swing. Sits awhile. I can see the swing swinging away. Finally he gets down and eats his supper, licking every dish squeaky clean. Back on the swing, and settles for the night. Until I got up this morning to feed him. This is his routine at the moment.

Yesterday I didn't see Little Miss (teenage au pair sparrow) all day, neither did I see the Bluetit family. But it was raining.

Just now a few minutes ago Mrs Bluetit and Little Miss swept into the garden. So all is well there. Mr Blackbird had the misfortune of coming in at exactly the same time. And Little Miss was on the alert, and said a lot of words to him. Mr Blackbird complained to Little Miss because he was by the cat food dishes, and wanted cat food for breakfast. Little Miss answered "No" and dived at Mr Blackbird chasing him out of the garden.

The weather app promised sunshine and no rain all day, but it's gone dull and the air has gone cold, and this means a shower is imminent...

Time for a hot cuppa. The garden is nice and really quiet at the minute. Even the birds have gone silent, apart from the Ravens who are making their presence very loudly known from the cherry trees at the end of the garden...

Creative today, a kaleidoscope in Laboscope. It is of some grasses in my back garden, and some wheat.

Have a good day...

Would you tell me how long they can take you? If you don't mind? I am interested.
I used to do detailed black and white drawings, detailed like this @dunelm but they would take a good part of the day.
And generally gave me a visual migraine after, but I could disappear into them as I did them, and really enjoyed doing them in mapping pen and India ink.
@gennepher, I can’t do them in just a single session. Some take two or three sessions of about 40 minutes each and some up to five or six over two days.

I love a nice quiet garden, especially first thing in the morning. This kaleidoscope is extremely fine and detailed and drags you in to look some more.

Greetings everyone from a windy Exotic (read it carefully @Krystyna23040 ) East. I think it is Saturday. This long Bank Hol has become a marathon and I've somewhat hit The Wall. Early morning Peppa Pig fest and cuddle with a granddaughter. Family bar-b-q later for those aged 92 to <1. I'm not sure my lived experience of Elsie and bar-b-qs are compatible but the local butcher and craft beer and cider purveyor were vey, vey chummy. Thanks for the story and kaleidoscope @gennepher. Sorry about your weather yesterday. There was a passable early summer tribute act here. Never quite the same as the orfentic article. @Krystyna23040 good news on the singing and cupcake dodging. I like Jerusalem better. Have a totes spiffing day but ever mindful of The Others (that s is very carefully included for the potty minds)

Good morning everyone from a bit of a dull and overcast start here in the dark and dangerous north
Early walk in the woods yesterday just a mile or so and then off to friends for a BBQ. Mrs Miggins is now on board the long aluminium cigar tube hurtling though the air, homeward bound with loads of other sardine packed passengers with a hold full of plastic gigo’s, flamenco outfits and paella pans.
Art today - Mount Kent, I will add some colour for tomorrow. Have a wonderful day trying to celebrate - day three is where you hit the wall. Best I make koffy and recharge my bones.

Thanks @ianpspurs

Mistress Hermit is still in her Hermitage here, away from the bunting and gaiety in this road.

The Art is excellent as it is, but I am sure the way you are painting the colour in at the moment, it will have an extra dimension tomorrow...

Not a great singer @Krystyna23040

But the sheer pleasure I got from a drunken night or two joining in any singing .

A joy to behold .

Love the sound of that being like the proms.
Never been, but I definitely get the idea
And it does give goosebumps.:headphone:
I have never been to the Proms either @jjraak but always watch it on the TV. It was a joy to feel like I was there as we sang Land of Hope and Glory. It was also good to realise that I was not the only person in the audience who was tone deaf.

6.2 this morning. Yesterday was a really relaxing day. Caught up on lots of reading. Today might do a bit of admin and lesson planning .

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen, I use these terms loosely just in case me, me’s and myself upset somebody who identifies as something different and is feeling a trifle, other puddings available, but not on this jubilee weekend, precious.
.
Bloods this morning were 6.0
.
A observation, just recently I have been oversleeping and have also been very tired, now I have been blaming my complex medical conditions and medication regime, but yesterday in a eureka moment I realised it is probably my age and I just cannot expect to have the energy levels of a 35 year old. This is wonderful, but it does pose a problem. Just how do I program in a mid morning nap, post lunch nap and evening nap into my busy schedule? Answers on a post card to Tilehurst Towers.
Stay safe all.

Well I can say with certainty it is possible @alf_Josiah
But You do lose a LOT of the day...
Every single D-A-Y..:sorry:

I'm hoping this years sleep is going to have that sci-fi effect of deep space ,/ light years , and slow down the aging process ...

Yeah..I know, ;) but I can hope :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

A great point, well made .

I too have had to remind myself many times

That for me T2D is NOT a shield of invulnerability, like some superheroes..

I still can & do get everyday illnesses & aches mere mortal get.

Never hurts to be reminded not everything is 'diabetes' or whatever ails us most .

Common or garden aches & pains are still available from all good stockists

Rest easy.
Have a good day :headphone:

In a rushed & befuddled state (early start + drugs ) I switched on TV news, without thinking..
Yep..on every station

Gave up & left on sky news
Sipping tea,.

.... then Johnson turns up.:hilarious:

Highlight of the day, some would say .

I Couldn't possibly comment ;)

I guess many of the Queen's loyal supporters & the Queen, I suspect, aren't quite ready to 'move on' yet.

To those celebrating. ENJOY.:headphone:

She unites us in many ways
This No 10 will never understand

Live, Give, Love
Not necessarily in that order ;)

Greetings Diabetes Massive. A wet start to the day here in the Exotic East. The sun smiled on the P family BBQ so heat was applied to humans from 92 to <1 and a serious quantity of meat. Apparently, Vietnamese gin must be consumed within 12 hrs of opening and needs to be diluted with litres of cider and craft beer. Strongest I drank were tea and 1 coffee. I was unsure about The Party at The Palace but in the end it earned its keep. Today's schedule includes waving goodbye to visitors, maybe watching granddaughter’s ballet display and, weather permitting, revelry with neighbours in The Close. Thanks in advance for the art @gennepher and @dunelm. Stay safe everyone and show the utmost care and respect for all you meet.
