What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Raining - we want it, we don’t want it - so inconvenient. Whoever is in charge needs to sort themselves out. Thank you for the tanka and what looks like a frogs eye view of that post box.
Thanks @dunelm
At least I can have a paddle in my very own private padding pool later...

Good morning everyone on what looks to be the harbinger of quite a pleasant day here in the dark and dangerous north. Smashing evening sat outside The Ship, overlooking the beach with eldest son and his partner. People still swimming in the sea and some surfers grabbing a last few waves. Mrs Miggins and her three sisters are off for afternoon tea today - nothing to celebrate but they have not been able to get themselves in the same place for quite a while so I guess it’s ‘catch up time’. Two zoom calls yesterday - Sister and then Mother who tells me that it’s a bit cooler - a balmy 31 degrees! Art bit, another tree branch completed so another one to start today. I hope that you all manage to enjoy your Friday. My days at present have to be kick started with two tramadol and two paracetamol. They kicked in about an hour ago so we can walk into town in a while. First though, another koffy.

Right back at ya for chuneage. @dunelm good news on the thoughtful renovations of the properties your parents and others now enjoy. Glad the physio went well. @Krystyna23040 thanks for the good wishes for JKP's back. The hot tub we had in the previous house was known as Nannie's Paddling Pool but we felt it previously unsafe with so many younger grandchildren. Number three son has invited himself and his children to try this one out at the weekend which probably includes Sunday lunch.
sounds like Sunday will be a lovely day with the family. Will you be trying out the hot tub?

Everywhere dripping again.
Jade and Midnight were sitting on opposite ends of the swing again, and so they were first for breakfast this morning. Jade and I did the slow blinking eyes thing again, but at a distance. I still can't get near her.
The small birds are eating me out of house and home. It is the old regulars and some new regulars. I am beginning to recognise some of the new regulars and their daily interactions and squabbles. It is either two females after the same male, or two males after a female.
Another downpour. Won't be going out now because I needed to use my mobility scooter....
So, another delightful day watching my garden and everything in it...even froggy says 'hi', he is hopping past in the paddling pool that is accumulating outside my bedroom door...

Creative is a Tanka and a photo in TinyPlanets app...

Time for coffee and cream. I bought some unpasteurised cream yesterday from a dairy that is licensed to sell a small amount of unpasteurised milk and cream....heaven....

Have a good day.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who worship at the altar of “I woke up this morning so it must be good”.
A fresh wet behind the ears 6.2 this morning on that meter.
Special mentions this morning for @lindisfel and @dunelm for the pain they are having to cope with. A swift recovery is hoped for, four or fore.
Today here in Tilehurst Towers it will be a day of the mundane, great I might be able to achieve things. Unlike yesterday which was a day of sheer hedonist pleasures on my motorcycle.
For @jjraak and any others here’s a few details, sorry no pictures.
.
Myself and a bike riding neighbour met up at Choppers café just south of Burbage on the A338.with an old school friend who lives on the sarf coast and of course rides a Triumph triple. I ride a Yamaha Tracer, neighbour rides a Honda Blackbird, a big powerful bike. They consumed the obligatory bikers fry up while me, me’s and myself had my usual sarnie washed down with tea and koffy.
The aim of this ride out was to make our way east ish to Lasham Gliding club’s cafe, this involved navigating down and along some extremely narrow gravel littered roads almost farm tracks without using sat nav. Passing through some extremely pretty villages and countryside.
.
We stopped in Whitchurch to have a look at the silk mill then onwards again past the Bombay gin distillery, bikes and alcohol are not a good combination so we didn’t call in. We rode past Jane Austin’s birth place, then more or so it seemed farm tracks till we crossed the A30 and then under the M3 heading for Axford again narrow roads and finally the gliding clubs café just off the A339 5 miles north of Alton. A few koffy’s were drunk and cake was consumed, tales were told, stories swapped and a promise to do it all again.
My total distance was 106 miles, with probably 60 miles being technically challenging riding, the scenery was glorious and on those roads not a great deal of traffic or surprisingly tractors.
Now I must depart and rouse Mrs J, stay safe all.

Hello everyone on National Beer Day, National Underwear Day, start of the Premier League football season, start of Edinburgh International Festival and Feast of St Oswald. My school House was Oswald. A different Oswald, of Worcester, who founded the Abbey (not as grand as it may sound). Meanwhile summer 2022 continues to be dry and warm here with no rain forecast for at least 10 days then only light rain showers. @gennepher good news on finding the unpasturised (no Z) cream and thanks for two wonderful creatives. We are truly spoiled. @dunelm yesterday sounds quite a tightly packed day of pleasures. Thanks for sharing the art and good news that the pain relief will enable you to gambol and frolic into town at least in your mind. Yes Mary, those were the days. @Krystyna23040 I hope the podiatrist goes well and I may try to manoeuvre into and out of the hot tub on Sunday. Today I have already delivered a granddaughter to pre-school, acquired the essential salmon and a pair of splendid pain au raisins for JKP. Later, there is a trip to the recycling centre before an appointment at Addenbrookes. Do stay safe as just because there is always a ball out there with your name on it there is absolutely no need to give your wicket away pointlessly. It is a team game. No I in team but sure is in winner, prize and ultimate.

Best wishes appointment goes as smoothly as possible.:)

Liking the sound of yesterday evening

And the wonders of modern medicines, huh :nurse:

Hope the pills, keep the pain at bay at least, if not entirely away

Liking the depth of texture you now add to the paintings...quite impressive what some can do with ink, a deft touch & imagination..:)

The bonus of any day in The Cat Cafe versus the disruption to days plans because of the rain.

Sorry you couldn't get out....:sorry:

Here's to next time, the weather being more helpful.:)

A lie-in today....(yes. another one :bag:)

A steady as she goes 7.3...

Seem to be hitting a plateau.
Which is making some internal waves

If I'm not doing anything, it's SO easy to feel I can everything.
The reverse of previous, where even doing nothing I knew how restricted my movements were

So now getting into the angry stage (at the world, at myself ) that I'm not as capable as I think.when a few steps of turns glaringly show my limitations.

Yesterday as a good example.

looked over the 900...upcoming MOT.
spurring me into action.

Can't do much, so just some awkward bending undoing locks etc, to see what she needs..(sat for 9 months ).

Battery flat, tyres soft, a dribble of petrol

A good bit to attend to, that would have been an enjoyable hour or two,
But now requires me seeking help :banghead:

And just 'becsuse'......

Can anyone guess what idiot threw a leg over..?

Yep, yours truly
Just to 'brmm, brrmm' and see how far off riding it, I MIGHT be ...

A realistic assessment is
"Seriously..:wideyed: Not this Year. Buddy :hilarious::hilarious:"

Hand grip etc, has come a long way, but still only half of what good hand is ,
And clutch is notoriously heavy on the RF..and with thumb now being off centre, it's even more so..

A heave of the bike upright just confirmed the decision...

the dexterity to tap up and down the gears is still there on good side

But on bad leg, I could only get my foot on the pegs with difficulty, and the time needed to operate the rear brake was glacial..
(Yes, I know it's just the spare /back up brake;)
) But it's nice for emergencies.

And the icings on the cake ....plural

A slight wobble while sat holding bike up and that little shift in the weight distribution to my bad leg..:arghh::arghh:...nope didn't cry..but it made me sweat for a moment that I was dropping it :wideyed:

And as if that wasn't embarrassing enough,
Trying to climb off...

and i end like a small child sliding off its first donkey ride unaided , climbing desperately to the tank, as I inch my good leg up & over seat (bad leg taking weight, scooter stopping dismount from other side )

SO NOT the cool looking dismount I was looking forward to, Bro....:watching:..

amusing for any neighbours watching tho...:hilarious:

And afterwards, coming indoors & sitting down., I felt I'd done a hards days work...:sorry:

It's ok..I had been toying with selling it,..let someone who can get the most out of it, get the benefit
Yesterday just cemented the decision

Shall miss it, when It goes, but I have to be realistic, that journeys now over..

I console myself, that others await :)

While out yesterday at bikes.

Marley wanders over while I'm sat in car just answering a call, needed a seat after my exertions.:)

Mews a bit at me by the drivers open window.

Annoyed at being ignored he runs up bonnet of car and sits on roof. ..cheeky so & so ..:hilarious::hilarious:

Snap is from me in car seeing where he went, and I missed his run up the bonnet, but caught his dismount rather well

Street cats. Gotta love em.:hilarious::happy:

I hope he went for an industrial diesel powered cement mixer - lovely sound. Not sure about getting out of the ‘can’t be bothered’ rut. Perhaps watch the England v Germany game.
Not a huge mixer, standard home use electric version. Noise level, well hairdryer, it won't compare to the heavy plant, JCB, dumper trucks, lorries near enough every hour, road rollers and something that compresses the surface with sufficient pressure that this house vibrates. We think they will be finishing with tarmac. Hopefully while we are away in UK. At the same time the gigantic eyesore that is the new garage for the motorhome has been rendered. It must be costing €€€€. We have planted trees to improve the view, but some have failed due to the heat, despite getting all the washing up water. Curry flavoured cherries anyone?

A new stray, yes @SlimLizzy
When I have lost my way a bit, and need to get back on track, and nothing is working, then I get a sheet of lined foolscap, clip it on to a board and write the date, Saturday today, a couple of the most important things that need to be done. And then a new list for tomorrow with three items on....and so on

Hugs for you x
Tried the list of three things. Managed one. BUT, I did manage other things that weren't on the list. Today list is almost the same, one down, two to go.
Thanks for the suggestion and the hugs
