What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from another drip dry start here in steamy windows land and the kingdom of the mozzy. Dad and I got into trouble yesterday - he for buying 2kg of tomatoes at the market, me for letting him! How does that work? We are reliably informed that the heat gauge has been set to a maximum of 25 degrees today but let’s wait and see. Art bit, plodding on with it. I have also started (barely) on a tree in my parents garden. It may or may not develop. Have a wonderful day if you can. I am currently enjoying koffy.

Oh dear!
I like the way this building is progessing @dunelm
Some vegetation developing at the side....

4.5 this morning. Have done the dog walk and the weekly Aldi shop. Now relaxing with a coffee.

My Autumn mold allergy got really bad yesterday so I had to up the allergy stuff and feel much better today. It seems to have struck earlier than usual this year.

Happy national bin day ladies and gentlemen, also those who’s idiot box recording devices are running out of space, It seems Mrs J is recording everything to do with funeral, I am dreading what space will be required for his Majesty’s coronation.
.
Bloods this morning were 5.3 on that meter.
.
This week is a bit full on medically wise, I have another blood test this morning, oh the joys of being an interest to the medic’s, but I shouldn’t complain these medics have kept me alive and able to cause chaos, mayhem, laughter, exasperation and sheer disbelief wherever I go.
Stay safe all.

Hello everyone on Battle of Britain Day 2022 - commemorates the Hardest Day. No elaborate mourning for those who died at the time despite the same dedication to duty and service to the nation. Some restitution since and one body many members covers it for me. No 1 son was working at Duxford on Sunday at their commemoration. Yesterday wasn’t a good day for basil hunting. Sainsbury’s had 2 of those “live” pots but the leaves were black and/or dead. Lidl, which is near the drive-in blood test centre, didn’t have any so I bought some Genovese Pesto and Halloumi with basil. Pesto on SLC toast was quite pleasant and the halloumi worked well enough with my salad. Blood test results were posted by 6.00 pm. My serum blood glucose was 5.2: fasted (11.15 am) apart from tea and coffee with cream and s/f caramel syrup. This suggests I multiply by 1.11 and add some - unless I throw a six - (5.7?). Far too high for me but in context ok (ish) I guess. @dunelm that art is wonderful as per. The funny was for the reversal of blame twixt you and Dad. @gennepher, my, but that fox has a large brush. @Krystyna23040 I had to google autumn/fall mold so hug for that. Great fbg by the way. Enjoy your day, mourn/commemorate the late Queen in your own way or not at all. I’m not sure about the live stream but YMMV. The world is your Lobster Terrence - Daley, A.

Paying professionals to deal with the hornets nest is too expensive. I will just have to be very careful in the garden until they expire naturally. Maybe by the end of next month.
Meanwhile I have apples, tomatoes, courgettes, potatoes and beans still to use from the garden. Sadly the apples as usual are almost inedible, being cider apples and will mostly be taken to the tip. We still have eleven trees in the garden area and another eight in the field so it's a massive waste. I think most are too poor quality for any use as many start to rot on the trees or are infested with maggots. I shall sort out some good ones and make either apple jelly, chutney or both. But not today.

Hug for the problems with hornets and "wasted" apples. At least if you felled the trees there should be fuel but you don't seem that type of lady. When will you have updates on your grandson? Sorry if that is intrusive just tell me to mind my own business.

Hugs for the hornets @SlimLizzy
It is just too much.
I hope you can rescue a few apples to make something from

had to google autumn/fall mold so hug for that. Great fbg by the way.
Luckily I am only allergic to tree pollen in the spring and mould in the autumn. We also have started running the dehumidifier to bring down the humidity in the house which has risen significantly this week. Thank goodness, according to the smart meter, the dehumidifier uses hardly any electricity.

Good morning everyone from the promise of a cooler day here in the Charente-Maritime. I am duty cook again today. Sister is round for lunch but she gets so tired after all the Chemo she has had. We are also taking measurements to have a ramp put in for mum’s latest toy, her Lamborghini red twighlight chariot, to access the back of the house. There is a large step to negotiate, part of the flood defenses so angles will be taken, heights measured and heated discussions as to how steep a ramp can be before the chariot bottoms out - for folk in their 90’s who think that their hearing is perfectly fine, this will take some time. Art bit - just a wee bit more, hopefully will finish by tomorrow, just in time to travel home. Stay well, have the best day that you can, I now need to grind more koffy.

Perhaps you can use up all those tomatoes today as you are duty cook @dunelm

That ramp could possibly need to be a heck of a lot longer than you think before it gets stuck on the bottom....

Dark and mysterious....the art bit....

Fbg 6.5

Yesterday, trawling through the videos from the TrailCam, I found 3 separate videos within the space of an hour where Midnight did this.
It was during the hours of 8 and 9 pm on the 12th September, Midnight (cat) breathed out what looked like smoke/a life force (?) three times. It was not a cold evening. He has never done this before. I thought it was curious.

It took me 4 hours to figure out how to use the video splicing app, put a filter on the video, how and where to place a title, and then the music...not an easy task for a deaf person who even with the cochlear implant doesn't hear like a hearing person. I downloaded several, they were jarring and awful, and were so loud they nearly blasted the cochlear processor off my head. I know it's a common complaint in others' comments that music is too loud, so I put this music down to as low as possible.

Let me know what you think as to music and loudness. I wanted 'mysterious'. What will sound mysterious to me will not be mysterious to you...
The music is possibly too low and therefore might sound distorted to a hearing person, but for me, I get this streamed directly to my cochlear implant, and consequently it sounds quite loud to me, even at this low level. I am never going to be able to gauge this, so please give me an idea if it needs to be louder. On the gauge when I put the music on, it has 0% to 100%
I have put it on 3% volume for this video.
What do you think it should be?

I suppose the above is really my creative for today, I could have taken a still shot to post, but I did a digital painting in Procreate for today. I have one sunflower growing. It is just coming out. I will probably photograph it next week. But in the meantime here is my impression of a sunflower in digital art...

Blue skies, sun is out, time for another cuppa!

Thank you @gennepher and yes, those tomatoes are going to be roasted in the oven with herbs. I have found that a 1:12 gradient works so for this 11cm step we need over a meter of ramp but then we will need a platform the length of the scooter inside the garden before another ramp is employed - at least that is my first guess.

That is curious @gennepher. The music was perfect for me on my kindle fire. The sound level was just right. Definitely sounded mysterious.

5.6 this morning. Am relaxing and reading and coffee of course. Has not been much time for reading so far as it has been a busy week.

Dog walk was really chilly.

Yesterday we booked our Covid booster. Mr K booked his at a local clinic. When I tried to book mine the website only offered me a venue 12 miles away. Tried 119 but they also said that the website wouldn't allow them to book me in locally. So I phoned the clinic direct. They were so helpful and booked me in the same time as Mr K. Thank goodness.

Blimey!
Complicated!
But you got there in the end @Krystyna23040

Hello everyone from a bright blue skied but too chilly for a delicate orchid/awkward so and so like me. RIP Eddie Butler. By all accounts a wonderful man, a talented rugby player, linguist, author and possessor of an amazing voice. Thoughts, prayers and condolences to his family. @gennepher thanks for sharing today's creatives. I couldn't hear any music but I'm a clownshoe so no surprises there. @dunelm thank you for the art. I am really enjoying this series and the gradual reveals are a joy. Best wishes for the cooking : tomatoes with herbs will always be a winner for me (I'd add small chunks of chorizo or French equivalent, Merquez?, surely garlic in France) - and ramp(s). @Krystyna23040 good news on the jab booking. We have ours on St Matthew's day, 21st. Meanwhile, events dear boy events as per Supermac. Always good to triangulate/clean one's Johari window: the UK/English centric double glazing is badly misty just now.and needs urgent repairs but there is a funeral first. I found this interesting and if you read that maybe try the original or summary of the Orwell referenced or obviously just ignore them all. Super Salmon Salad Day - hurrah, call a half hol and cancel all exams. If'n you waded through that you are either sadder than I imagine or need the kind of help only a truly gifted professional can offer. Whether you chill out, exercise manically, woodwork, paint, film or fill your day with any of the myriad ways on offer do enjoy yourself with due care, attention and concern for others. Toodle Pip.

Morning @gennepher
My mobile on web and looking at vid in post....no sound.

On YouTube , a pleasant tune, perhaps would have thought it suiting a slow view over a meadow or vista..but as you say, mysterious is individual .

Sound was ok....I might have asked for it a little higher 5% or slightly above

But perfectly acceptable as is

Hth.:)
