What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Breakfast: bacon and eggs (2). Early to be cleared away before my cleaner came. She didn't. She phoned eventually and said things had gone pear-shaped. She'll come tomorrow.
2nd meal: pondering whether I dare test my system with Brussels sprouts and broccoli. They're prepped and ready to go with some bacon lardons and a tiny bit of onion. Tummy feeling a bit rumbley even thinking about it, so maybe not. Alternative ?(There's going to have to be one.) Fish again today? Neil bought a piece of haddock for me in the supermarket so I could have that. Probably will. Maybe some cheese melted over it. He also bought some "Seriously Strong" soft cheese, so could use that.

Skipped breakfast.
Annual visit to vets with cats. All OK, not bad for a pair of 18 year olds
Early lunch: 2 hard boiled eggs with salami and mayo. Small chunk cheddar. Dessert of hm lc bakewell tart. Yum yum. A keeper of a recipe but quite expensive to make.
12 small squares now frozen, about 1.4 g carb each
D: hm lc Thai green curry. 1 large white wine with soda. Coffee ice cream

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a food dr bar.
Dinner: LC pizza base topped with tinned chopped tomatoes, mozzarell, bacon and mushrooms with a side salad followed by SF strawberry jelly and cream.
Off on my holibobs tomorrow, will probably eat lunch each day with family and eating out at night, will keep to sensible choices and have some DGF treats to take!

Edit to add pic!

A very meaty day for me to make up for the meatless last few days.

No breakfast except tea with a bit of milk.

Lunch - out at a roadside burger van! Paul has been telling me about this place for weeks as he sometimes stops off there for lunch. He says it’s the best burger ever, everything locally sourced. Burgers home made daily. Can’t remember what mine was called but it was a good burger ( no bun) topped with Camembert, bacon and pastrami. A bit of salad on top in place of the bun.
Dinner was meatballs as I’ve been thinking about them since @Rachox post a couple of days ago. I used this DD recipe https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-italian-meatballs

@Outlier what a fantastic lunch! IMG_0981.jpg

Decided to have a cheese sandwich this morning. My hob is all nice and clean and I don't want to mess it up by using a frying pan.
There is a pan on the hob, but it's not going to spit all over the hob. It is a meal for later, if I can eat it. It's one of those "see what needs to be used up in the fridge" meals - Brussels sprouts, broccoli, onion, red bell pepper, aubergine with some bacon, all cooking away in a chicken stock. May still be too veggie for my system to cope, I'll have to see how I get on. Ran out of Loperamide yesterday, getting it all under control so I don't want to start it up again.

No. I'm not going to risk it. Maybe I should just forget the idea of vegetables altogether and stick to meat. That'll be more expensive, I suppose and I have quite a lot of veggie things in the freezer to use up; which will include today's effort. It is about to get packed up and get frozen now that I have decided against it. Bacon and egg later, I suppose.

First day of my holibobs today. I'm going to have a lazy week posting here. You can all assume that breakfast will be the same as home. I’ll eat a salad and cold meat/cheese lunch every day with my family plus DGF treats. We will have a good amount of coffee shop visits for cappuccinos with protein bars, then night time will be takeaway, eat out or other members of the family cooking!
So I’m just going to post a pic of dinner each night, tonight takeaway :hungry:

Breakfast I had turkey rashers and 2 boiled eggs
Lunch smoked cod done in oven with a spicy tomato based sauce with broccoli and carrots
Dinner chicken and chorizo fried on pan with 4x cherry tomatoes thrown in to create a bit of a sauce

Mid morning, 2 Hard boiled eggs with salami

Then a major fail. In lidl, Italian week fell for some large cherry biscuits, but rather than a bite of just 1, or even just 1 whole one, I manged to stuff 4 , yes 4 into my face. It was one of those times when motivation just wasn't even in my mind. There was no thought involved at all, mindless eating. I was cross that I couldn't get some items I wanted but that wasn't enough reason to do what I did. There was no reason at all.

I keep thinking that by now I'd find such stuff too sweet, but I didn't really taste anything at all. I hated the sticky fingers after

The only good bit was I am wearing a libre and the resulting picture of vertical spike that then took 4 hours to come down will stay with me. I've screen saved it to my phone. Now I must find a way of having it pop up next time I can't stop stuffing my face with carbs.

D: salmon with courgettes.
8.pm 2 glasses wine with soda out with a friend
10 pm 2 squares hm lc bakewell tart with cream.

Libres are great for rubbing our nose in it aren’t they? I’m not very techy but I sometimes think a printout of the spike on a bit of card in my bag or purse might dissuade me next time I was tempted.

Marathon journey from Cornwall to Scarborough today. It took 11.5 hrs. Av speed 35mph!
Tea first thing
10:30 1 h/b egg at the first coffee stop. ( I’d packed supplies)
1:30 : SLC roll filled with beef and mustard. 1 Fatt bar
20:30 arrived in the nick of time as hotel restaurant was just taking last orders. Had ribeye steak, mushroom, tomato, broccoli and red wine. It tasted like the best meal ever.

Small rib steak, two well done fried eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes, couple of slices of vegimite on toast for breakfast.
Savoury liver, bacon, onions and veggies for lunch.
Chopped up banana prawns in three egg and cheese omelette. for supper at six.

Small single malt whisky before bed.

Went to see my GP at the medical practise, first time I have been there in about six months as I have mainly phone and home vists from her. There was some new faces in the reception area that I have not seen before.

She is happy with my body in general, and she also signed off on my home oxygen setup request form for another year from MASS for free.

Ooops! This is not correct, I forgot I went for a medication review a little while back, starting to get ol' timerz.

Good result from GP, glad you’ve got the free oxygen for another year.
Steak and eggs is my absolute favourite breakfast. It reminds me of the Elton John song Writing from Captain Fantastic which I loved.

Just had a 3 egg, cheese omelette. That's the main meal of the day. I might have something a bit later on - we'll see how the bg goes. Staying away from veg still. Don't want to take chances. So it will have to be some kind of protein.

On my 2nd cup of coffee (to see if it will help my liver) after 3 cups of tea. Trying hard to acquire the coffee taste but I don't really like it very much. It would be OK if it was a latte, but just black or just with milk doesn't float my boat.

Try it with cream if your health allows.
I'd forgotten about cream - I used to have it that way years ago. Must get some in and try it. I don't stint on fats, although maybe I should with my liver being in state it is. Honestly don't know if I should or shouldn't - different advice around the place, as usual. But I do like my butter and streaky bacon.
