What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Up most of the night with d&v and still felt horrible this morning so stuck to soda water, tea and paracetamol for the joint pains which were a new symptom.
Mid aft - couple of spoons h/m yoghurt to try and redress the equilibrium in my innards.
This evening I’ve had a couple of scrambled eggs and I’m starting to feel a lot better.
I'm way behind. Sorry you were unwell but I'm sure you will be recovered now. xx

:hilarious: I was in there earlier this week looking for jeans. Managed to find a pair of those, but didn’t manage to avoid buying a sleeveless jumper!

Do you write your food down? I‘d struggle to remember what I ate a couple of days ago, let alone 10!

Hope you continue to improve. Sounds nasty.

I’ve looked in two separate branches in Birmingham and not found them. I thought that their extra large pork sausages looked great at 0.6g/100g carbs, but on inspecting the ingredients they include mushroom, to which I’m allergic. Stuck to my trusty Waitrose ones instead.

Oh, and I haven’t eaten anything yet today, or even drunk very much. Just some water I brought up last night. Routines gone to pot staying in an enormous house when I normally live in a box! I’ll be investing in several small fridges should I ever move into a place with stairs!
I use My Fitness Pal. There's no way I'd remember what I'd had otherwise. I'm afraid I've since acquired another 2 jumpers! They were down to £7 each. Time to stop now I think.

I suspect the sausages were part of the M&S summer range and may be gone now until next year as I haven't seen them for a couple of weeks. There are some nice GF sausages in now though.

Currently at my aunt for a sleepover because she lives closer to tomorrows ferry.

She loves cooking so she made us this.
Cashews and filled peppers to have with a beer and a jenever at 5.

Starter of shrimp and devilled eggs made the old fashioned way with butter, no mayo, and cucumber and crème fraiche.

Mains of meat (rolled up pork bound with a string, no idea what it's called in English, in Dutch it's rollade) and ratatouille.

Dessert was to be 4 different kinds of cheese, but she was very tired because she's recovering from a very recent double lung embolism while on holiday.
So she's off to bed and I'll enjoy some cheese on my own, later on.

she has put a portion of meat and ratatouille in the freezer to for me to take with me and eat when camping!

She really is an amazing aunt!

Thursday menu.

Bacon, eggs, toast and vegimite for breakfast,
Putting the grocery order that awau, and droppena tin of sardines, bent down to pick it up and kept on going. I hit my head on the way down and ended up on the floor.
No lunch, or supper at six.

I will continue in the chat thread.

Edit: I forgot to post this yesterday, so will post it as is warts and all. :(

Felt like eating Putin today. He is just beyond. Then I calmed down.Stress not good for d iabetes.
so 2 boil ed eggs. Salmon in a mustard sauce.Just a tsp of mustard in single cream, with lots of raw spinach in
a salad.Dont like cooked spinach much (too bitter). Then homemade ice cream. Just mix cream, unsweetened cocoa
A bit of chosen sweetener. Few crushed nuts. + some peanut butter. Lovely.

B: small Greek yoghurt with seeds and 4 crushed walnuts. A nut bar, that looked very similar to the M&s ones at 7g a bar, but this was 17g on the label.
Libre has run out and new one not yet started so don't know effect.
2 cwc
Skipped lunch.
Lovely sunny walk
D: 2 so called bratwurst and knockwurst at an October fest event, came with bun, potatoes and sauerkraut. Gave the bun and pots to hubby.A diet coke. That was the only diet option among 25 beers and 5 sodas!
Cheese on seedy crackers when we got back after.

Although there seem to be quite a few low carb/keto options in the supermarkets doesn't seem to have got to restaurants yet. Finding the dollar rate a bit of challenge

@Antje77 sounds like a holiday at Aunties would be a lot more 5 star than the one you have planned!

Ok so I did do a little better with my holibobs dinner pic last night! I at least took a pic, just didn’t post as we got home very late, so here it is! Lamb bhuna, mushrooms made specially for me as I didn’t have rice, with 1/4 of hubby’s peshwari naan. Have loved having the Libre this holiday so I could take a few risks and observe anything out of range! Got away with the peshwari naan :)

Hi All
yesterday was my fave Fish Finger Firsday, chunky cod fingers and cauli cheese
Lunch was slice ham, h/b egg, chopped cucumber & tomato and spoon of coleslaw. Brekkie as always slice of LC toast and copious tea.
lunch today was a repeat except no ham. Supper will be two Green Cuisine plant burgers topped with Portobello mushrooms.
Defo feeling the chill now nights and early morning. Need to figure out minimum heating plan now. Happy hols to @Antje77 and also @MrsA2 hope you can find interesting LC food that might be different to usual. @RosemaryJackson the exploding eggs made me laugh, just the sort of thing I would do after getting distracted easily. Its usually when baking a baguette for Mr PM which has turned out like a sturdy weapon!
My granddaughter had hysterics over the eggs, thought it was hilarious. Still haven't got the pan clean! Your eye problem would have been very stressful so maybe that's why your level went up?

Didn't post yesterday as levels were high . But kept under 30g carbs with roast turkey, cauli mash with cheese. 2 sausages at teatime. Bit mixed up as to when I did post last! Today I have cauli and broccoli mash fried in butter. I let the butter (with a little oil) get really hot then dump the mash in and I get a lovely crust, with a fried egg on top, it's lovely. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Had some Greek yoghurt, double cream and raspberries earlier, plus a couple of squares of 85% from chocolate - recently discovered the Asda own brand which is reasonably priced and tasty.

Just eaten today’s main event - the remaining Picanha I bought from the butcher a while ago. Deliciously large fat cap. It was slightly under even by my standards, so put the cut pieces back in the pan for literally a couple of seconds each side and came out perfect (pic is pre going back in the pan). So tender and the fat had rendered beautifully.

Even better finished just in time to get a free live stream of the footie up on the TV via my phone.

Speaking of Asda @DJC3 its been ages since they had that bread in my local.

Sardines on toast (in olive oil) for brunch. The toast was white bread - I've run out of wholemeal and not feeling energetic enough to make more.
Just about to make myself, unwillingly, make an effort and marinade some chicken thighs for tonight's meal and will have it with some (steamed) spinach. I love cooked spinach, but can't bear it raw - not even baby spinach. Not sure what the marinade will be but it will involve some lime juice, some yoghurt, some spices and maybe some chives or onions.

That looks like the steak I had yesterday - probably a bit under done but I enjoyed it anyway. I prefer my steak almost raw.

Even with my expert level of typos I can't figure this one out! What is it please?
A darn (sometimes spelled darne) is a thick piece of fish, presented as a steak. It is usually cut across a round fish and includes the spine but sometimes it can be a thick piece of fillet served as one large piece or steak.

Edited to finish off - I must have pressed something on the keyboard that posted the reply before I was ready.

This morning's breakfast!
My aunt made sure to send me off thoroughly fed, considering I never eat breakfast.

Currently on the ferry, which is about to depart. Had a look around, foodwise, very glad I was just in time to go back to my car to get a bag of peanuts to sustain me until I'm on the other side!
