What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

BG is all over the place due, I think, to having caught a cold from Em.
Breakfast was 2 slices of white bread with cream cheese. Just because it was handy. Didn't actually enjoy it though. Did enjoy the grapefruit juice that I followed it with - good for my throat.
There will be 3 meals today. The second will be comforting tomato soup with added cream.
The third will be h/m turkey sausages. That's because I have made the sausage meat ready to make mini sausage rolls for gr grdaughter's 2nd birthday party. The s rolls will be mini ones so there will be meat mixture left over to be used up.

Very odd that after the bready/fruity breakfast, BG is falling and is currently at 4.5. Opposite to the norm.
It didn't last. Forgot to eat lunch after all. Too busy following up leads on family history and left it too late. Eventually ate the 2 sausages but rushed and forgot to take insulin. BG rose to 19.7 before I realised and did take some insulin. Currently sitting at 10.8.

Three hard boiled eggs, two slices toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Lamb jogan rosh, and half the portion of rice that comes with it for lunch. These mre's could be a bit larger as I always still feela bit hungry.
T Bone steak, two well done fried eggs, fried tomatoes for supper at six.

Usual glass of malty goodness before going to bed early.

All bran for brekkie, Cuppa soup and 2 slices of wholemeal break with bertoli spread and crackers, Mushroom soup and some peanut butter. Not together. Separate! LOL! Just done finger stick test and bg 7.1 :):):)

It's only a slice of sirloin with the bone in, it's not as if it's top shelf meat, compared to caviar or truffles

Print this out and stick it on your fridge so you can slaver at home.

Skipped breakfast.
Very cold dog walk
Headed straight to a cafe in need of hot food
Meatloaf with mushroom gravy on mashed potatoes
Tried to leave leave potatoes but was too hungry and too cold
Bg went up from 6 to 8,5 in a fairly rounded curve, which was a surprise as am sure there was breadcrumbs on the loaf, flour in the sauce.

Just picking at bits this evening, soem cashews and 20g of chocolate. There may be yogurt later

They look small. The one I had was massive! near filled my entire plate. I couldn't get through it all and left a lot. I was out with friends and it was all a spur of the moment thing; went out to a restaurant after drinks.

Once again - no food so far. BG is currently 21.9 - that's after FBG of 7.5. I've been busy remaking a banana loaf to replace the one that was a total disaster yesterday. Worked fine today. Can't be baking (no cheating) that makes my BG rise so drastically.
Anyway - I've taken a large dose of insulin and hope to get down to something reasonable before I eat. I have had tea with milk, coffee, one with milk and one with cream and one glass of very watered down orange juice and although those would have put BG up a bit, 21.9 is a bit over the top, even for me.

I will probably only have one meal today and it will be some haddock out of the freezer. Possibly just baked with a little cream/cheese sauce. Still no veg. Can't risk it.

Saturday 15 October bed 5.3 yes, 5 3! FBG 6.5. Horrid morning but got a slight improvement in the afternoon weather. After jujitsu, I took myself to Boots to get Hubby something to try to clear this cold, otherwise I may have to dress him in a hazmatt suit for the train. Also picked up some toiletries. When I got back I needed a rest as I'm still fighting my own cold. He trying out Covonia which tastes nasty and he's been using my steamer with a few drops of eucalyptus in it. Reluctantly I might add.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with egg mayo.

L. Nothing

D. Usual cold cuts. Pork and egg, wafer thin chicken and roast beef, ham, ox tongue and coleslaw.

Apart from paracetamol, I am currently nursing a low sugar hot chocolate made with almond milk and I was dunking a DGF cookie (straight from the freezer) in it. Very comforting. I'm working on my own cold as well as Hubby's.

You win the esoteric post of the day prize for that!

Cold food for me today. Started with leftover corned beef and a slice of Schneider Brot.

The chicks are, at least, low carb I guess!
I need to go to Asda for mor Schneider brot - I put the last (opened )pack in a Tupperware, not in the fridge, the last 2 slices went mouldy. Lesson learned.

Hugs for the cold @maglil55 there seems to be a lot of horrible colds around at the moment. 2 daughters have just had one and said it was worse than covid.
No breakfast today - spent the morning volunteering at the vaccination centre. It was good fun until I had an uncontrollable coughing fit. Not the ideal situation.
L- hungry after being on my feet for hours DD keto curry bowl - mince, curry spices, coconut cream and spinach. Quick and easy and hit the spot.
D- pork stroganoff and broccoli, couple of glasses of red.
@Riva_Roxaban I’m not even hungry but still, your photo has my mouth watering.

Same as yesterday with some arugola added. On my former favourite plate, now my second favourite plate. :)
Yes, I have a thing for plates and mugs, choosing the one I like depending on mood (and what happens to be clean of course, usually not going as far to clean a dirty mug because it suits my mood better).

Tomorrow I'll have to be creative when it comes to food.
Going to see Bob Dylan in Amsterdam!
It's been a very long time, thanks to covid, never been this long since my first concert in '93.

I'll leave at around 4 pm to account for delays on the road and won't be back until around midnight.
I'm not very good at packing food when I'm not hungry, and I won't be hungry at mid afternoon. Fingers crossed I'll be smart enough to think of something to bring, and fingers crossed I'm wise enough to force myself to eat something before leaving my car for public transport in Amsterdam.

Also hoping my horrible cold won't be too noticable tomorrow. I tested negative but my neighbours at the concert won't know, and I don't wish to disturb them by coughing all the way through the concert.

B: yoghurt, seeds and blueberries
Meant I coped better with a cold dog walk.
Weather here veers from 21 degrees one day to 10 the next then back again. At least its dry and sunny just a cold wind.
Trying to skip lunch in advance of a fish dinner out tonight, but ended up nibbling nuts, 85% chocolate and some of hubbys scone.
A second walk means 13800 steps today

I just love Bob Dylan.

when my stomach
gets better still going to carry on with the low carb diet and not listen to the practice nurse who told be to eat potatoes and carbs. So been listening o Frank Sinata - I did it my way.

Fabulous fish restaurant tonight
Starter of jumbo prawns in spicy butter, lots!
Main was pan fried walleye with beurre blanc sauce, courgettes and a very small portion rice, of which I ate half
I glass white wine and a lot of water

Hope you have a great day, Antje - and manage to have enough of the right food to keep you happy.
