What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

6.0 this morning. Today all classes on Zoom as the Church are having a fundraising event. So a much more relaxing day.

Yesterday evening class members were held up in traffic with a 4 car crash on the A47 and a 2 car crash on the A11. It was a bit foggy in Norwich but not bad enough to cause problems.

Morning all.

A merry little 6.5 this morning.

A gloomy day in wait in the Capital today.

Off for my diabetes check up at midday, fasted as I prefer that method....so we'll see what joys 10 months of poor mobility & pain meds has bequeathed me.

Not expecting good scores, but fully expect to be convincing myself "its not THAT bad, considering...." :bag:

On a more positive note, my recycling of the little E-Bike & investment is paying me back for my leap of faith.

Was in need of a little TLC, and so far not the money pit, it could have become.

A small cost of £15 to fix the part I couldn't, and since then ..not a dime

Unsure of just what specs I SHOULD be expecting from it.

Rather confusing on t'internet just how far I can go for battery only & how far plus pedalling I can expect ?

So far preliminary test runs show in excess of 25 miles per charge.
While battery is assisting heavily in my pedalling, Maybe more as even on red, still pulling at lower gears.

And nephew interested in one now, so checking the power cost it was 35p to charge from previous state (red) to fully charged....
Even battered as I am I still got it to 22 mph, but the average speed was 12 mph pedalling with very little effort....WIN.

Not quite the 180 mph the 900 offers, but I'll gratefully take it for now.

And a small glitch I had put down to the repair (electrical) was the charging light on battery (one red, 2 green) only illuminated the one red one green....until last night's charging.

Now Red AND both greens fully lit up...

Keen to see what difference that makes to mileage / mph.

Yes, it's a fair cop
I confess....

I like a gadget :arghh:

Your e-bike was such a good buy and so economical to run @jjraak

A win for the day ahead but awful news about the crashes

Hope all were ok.

FBG 9.4 this morning at 3.15. Tea, some pills and 4 hours later it's up to 10.9. Not too much of a rise at this stage of the day.
I fell asleep in the chair after taking pain killers and only woke when Em came in the door. She's here before school these days so that both parents can go to work. Arrives in her pyjamas with a bundle of school clothes. She promptly settled on top of me and went to sleep. Eventually I woke both of us up. Made her breakfast and got her ready for school and now she's gone - already in school and I have the day to myself. Still feeling sleepy but I really should make a move and get myself out of my nightwear and into something to face the day in. Things to do, but will I do them? Maybe some of them.

This afternoon I have a Zoom meeting with Kirsty Wade (Move More). Not sure how much exercise I'll be able to do while on Zoom, but we can try.

Edit:
I've been told that I have to watch the next (final) installment of a programme on TV about Castle Howard - about preparing for Christmas. Apparently my niece was visiting a friend who works there and was invited to use her creative skills to decorate the Christmas tree(s). There was a film crew there at the time and she was filmed doing her thing with the decorations. Whether to footage will be broadcast, nobody knows, but I have to watch it to find out. I actually haven't seen her since she was a schoolgirl so I may not recognise her. She'll be the tall, dark haired, 40+ wielding baubles and stuff.
That was a beautiful snapshot of your morning life with Em arriving in her pyjamas, and settling on top of you.
It is a warming and comforting image @Annb

Greetings to you all from from a grey but mild and dry Little America not at all hidden in the Exotic East. I have been musing on whether I post too much and overshare and conclude I'm guilty on all counts M'Lud. @dunelm the hug was for all the medication and the misery you will endure once the house looks bright, cheerful and your family have a wonderful time. Poor chap. Thanks for the latest installment of scratchy details. @alf_Josiah best wishes for you and those conducting the review. @jjraak just best wishes for your review. Good news on the e-bike. There's a football match on TV tonight involving Ingerland and Wales. I was watching a wonderful Advent hymn from Ely Cathedral. Sublime singing and stunning architecture. The famous painted ceiling featured. https://www.elycathedral.org/about/history-heritage/the-nave-ceiling . As one does, my thoughts turned to the FIFA World cup in Qatar. I’m certain the wages, working conditions and human rights of those involved in the building of that and most other Cathedrals were not what The Woke would support. I’m also certain the 8000 Eels per year would have fed many a JAM back then. @Annb a winner for the love and care of Em and the bliss that cuddle must have been for both. Splendid. Enjoy your day everyone but with respect for others. There has been a theme running through this thread lately highlighting how life can be made unbearable by not so doing. Have a little poem for all we average boys and gels https://conf.math.illinois.edu/~castelln/M103/TheAverageChild.pdf

I like the sharing.

Different folks.
Different strokes.

Nice to see the world from anothers perspective, imho.

Some we'll readily agree,
Some we'll likely not.
And some will just inform us better.
Such is life

But in among that is some that make us alter our opinions & let us grow.

I say there's much good in that.

Be a sadder day when we can't.

Beautiful frosty morning with temperature -1degC air frost.
Warmed the duchesses Fabia up and took her to the bus to Carlisle from West Cumbria for Tai Chi. Now back home watching the garden birds and going to have a coffee in a warm house.

Noticed how totally unaware many are of how there is frost on untreated roads and what happens to the conditional contract between the tread of a vehicle and the road surface!
Have a safe day everyone.

What a perfect snapshot of the love and care between yourself and The Duchess. Bravo to her for going to Tai Chi and to you for doing the prep. I hope you enjoyed the coffee and have a safe journey to collect Marjorie.

Maybe basil is looking for HIS forever home too ?

Just like midnight's, some dreams DO come true ..:)
This is Foxy Loxy who appears to be Midnight's arch enemy. But Foxy Loxy 'forgives' Midnight every time...

Foxy Loxy (Basil) is in my garden every night without fail, and it is not for the food.

I have this recurring 'nightmare' that I will find one morning, Midnight taking care of some little black furry fox cubs in the kitchen, while Foxy Loxy is going about his/her business...

EDIT
I already have Skinny Fox, a very small undernourished young fox I feed special food to every night. He is so skinny I can see his wedding tackle. He is usually the eyes in the bushes in the videos. I have been specifically feeding him two months now, and his fur is getting sleeker, but it is not thick yet. I don't hand feed him, but he knows I put food out at a certain time late afternoon, and he is waiting in the bushes....

I am target feeding Skinny Fox, upon advice, in case he needs meds, and I would be able to give him any meds he may need. But so far, good food especially for him is the answer.

On the wildlife nighttime trail camera this fox was going up and down as though it was looking for something...and when it looked in my all glass bedroom door, it was in the early hours, and I had the light on and was sitting up in bed with a cuppa. The funny thing was I saw a pale shadow exactly that moment, like it was peering in through the window, but I said to myself nah, I wouldn't be lucky enough to see a fox....

It was below freezing in the night...
Yet another lightweight blanket on the bed...

I was looking for some stuff I had put away 3 summers ago.
I had bought a jacket in the sales, but didn't try it on. However, it does fit, but I hadn't realised how heavy it was to put on. I had fallen in love with the material, and so it got put away until I could figure out what to do with it. Leg warmers was my first thought when I woke up this morning (was I dreaming of leg warmers?). Got it out. Lovely long arms, so cut them off. Then I thought hang on, this jacket is lighter now without the arms. So, I tried it on. With the arms on, I didn't have the dexterity to get into it, but now it is armless, yay I can get in it easily! It really is beautiful material. I am glad I saved it.

So, yet another sewing job today...

Creative...have a guess...yes it is Autumn again, in Procreate! I was trying coniferous trees. These are easy to do wet-in-wet in an actual painting with a fine brush, but not so much in Procreate, it would need a lot more figuring out what their brushstrokes do.

The starlings just this minute came back for the fatballs, and the sparrows regrouped and advanced like soldiers on the march, along the tree branches towards the starlings. The starlings flew away...

Time for a cuppa, but the cat is on me and I forgot to make the flask. Oh well, a nap first. Always time for a nap...

Quite spooky about the fox at your door. Thanks for the creative and video. That jacket will now be a highly fashionable gillet. Stick a Schoeffel or Carhatt label on it and it will be an even bigger bargain.

It was spooky @ianpspurs

You are right about that jacket.
I am so so glad I kept it!

I don't know why they are like that, because life would be so much more pleasant for them and us if they weren't @Lainie71
What gets me is they have to stretch their necks out to stare if my front door is ajar slightly - in a hope I guess that they can nose into my house. They really are disgusting and I will be glad when we can move. I have my heart set on a small farm with chickens, a goat, hens and friendly dogs. It cannot happen quick enough to be honest I know I would be a lot happier and hubby too.
Almost forgot! 6.5 this morning and have done my work out without the postman's input of prying eyes lol

I hope you can find that small holding @Lainie71

Fingers crossed from me for you.

One good thing is that it is recognised now that nobody is average. There is no average size, no average ability. Nobody fits the average description. Sadly, schools are not able to provide for children other than the non existent average child so all have to be squeezed into the mould. Some just cannot be made to fit, and these children suffer in the education system. Em know that she is NOT AVERAGE. She is special and has special attributes and skills. I'm glad she refuses to fit into the mould. Perhaps that's because I never did either, nor did Neil, nor, I believe, did Em's mum.

The small farm sounds wonderful apart from the goat (they stink, IMHO) but I'm led to believe their milk is wonderful and very good for one. If you only have the one I assume goat curry wouldn't be on the menu much. If you need chainsaws I have a few spare.
