What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning diabetics how are ya? Guess who just asked Alexa for City of New Orleans? Welcome to the chaos theory that is managing The D. My new Swipey vowed and declared my fbg was either 5.2 or 4.4 - one of which suits me, the other will be put to my members but is an unacceptable offer imho. (Ministers in the Unicorn Kingdom of Rish! (per John Crace) somehow feel that 4.4% ish is a wonderful pay offer for workers while giving myself and other boomers 2 x 10%+ pay rises.) Super salmon salad day today - pine nuts and all - so what's not to like? @Krystyna23040 fascinating, if tiring for you, how greedflation/price gouging - NOT YOURS - has improved your business. @Annb double hugs for #oilgate and bg control conundrum. @gennepher that haunted lighthouse appears to be totally gone - like Mr Sharpe. @lindisfel good to see you here but take it easy young sir.

Just, finally, got an answer from the Stornoway depot and received a very reassuring reply from the person there. Our oil is on order to be delivered by 2nd May. She was puzzled by what has happened and has no idea why we were promised a delivery by 27th April. She found the account that showed I have already paid for the oil and will transfer the payment to my account - the same one I have had with the Stornoway supplier for years. It's all still a mix-up but she did promise that we will get our oil. We will have run out completely by then, but we will manage for a few days without.

Good morning, just, from a busy start here in the dark and dangerous north. Family gathering this weekend and we are staying local. The Cleveland Way, well, part of it is on the cards for tomorrow followed by some feasting. The ninky nonks and Little Miss Pamplemouse will be arriving this evening with parents and some serious shopping needs to be done this afternoon. Art bit, another starter for ten. Hope your day is going well. I have already consumed koffy and don’t drink the stuff after noon.

Thanks for sharing the art. Enjoy the family weekend, especially time with those grandchildren.

Enjoy your weekend @dunelm
Hopefully you will see some scenery like the above...

Watch it near those big holes on Roseberry Topping!
On dark and stormy nights Captain Cook can be still be heard urging his crew on to greater deeds from the bowels of hell!

Apparently cardigans are now fashionable so not just for the Worthers originals demographic. I just ordered the preppy green one - For those ITK it is a secret symbol (I'm woke too) like "that" handshake for some:D Membership of the local bowls club (I've somehow got 2 sets of woods - obviously both soft left bias :) ), Shearings tours, Saga hols or frequenting the local Unicorn Kingdom Club are all a step too far.

I tried to write a little something to everyone having a hard time recently, seems like lots had happened whilst I was busy enough not to be online but the forum or my phone have eaten it thrice. So please know I hope everyone is doing well.

For those still in the deep cold I salute you. I can no longer stand the cold so much (long gone are my days of walking to work in Finnish winters), instead this is my 5pm poolside view from my backyard in Gozo, been planting salad things on my day off today. Hope to have some fresh rucola very soon. Our husky, Max, ran away from the camera but Raven and Hugo are enjoying the fresh air.20230428_170409-min.jpg

Fabulous photo. Enjoy the warmth. I don't like English winters and I live in a mild part so goodness knows what a Finnish one would be like.

Had a lovely time on Gozo a few years ago. Was Magro Brothers tomato canning factory the highlight of the stay - no!

Isn't it odd. My BG has come down to a much more reasonable level - been in the 7's all afternoon. I'm usually very laid back but must have been letting the oil saga get to me. I was certainly angry and was beginning to think that I had paid out for oil I wasn't going to receive. Surprised, though, that it seems to have had such an effect on me.

Not long to go, just 'til Tuesday @Annb

You must be so relieved @Annb

Good morning everyone on a dull yet excitingly early start here in the dark and dangerous north. I had to be up early to boil 2 dozen eggs, make an Italian rice salad and a green salad. They will be taken to brother in laws this morning - our contribution to the meal (bring your own drinks). Menu has been disected and issued in slices to all attending. There is a 10 mile walk first but I will only be doing 2 or 3 with the grandchildren. Art bit - some details added, more to follow. Hope your Saturday is pleasant. Must have koffy. Well, another at least.

Morning all from a dry, clear but chilly L.A at the start of a string of Bank Holidays. We Boomers (i and ii) don't really notice them but seeing as we trashed the country at least twice and have some egregiously bad values I hope those who work and pay for us amid our mess have a good rest. Talking of which, our youngest son is off to Turkey for a week (£315 all inclusive, late deal. I was already ticking about the Wales thing) @dunelm thanks for gently teasing us with just a little more detail on that art. Well done on the early start and enjoy the family time. Swipey offered up 5.5 which seems excessive. Enjoy your day and the whole weekend - a dummy run for the next one but without quiche or bunting.
